Chapter 5

Third person’s POV

Xavier woke up the following morning to an empty bed but Olympia wasn’t in bed anymore. His first thought was that she had woken up earlier to prepare for their journey back to his Kingdom where they were going to start a new life but when he got out of bed and searched for her, he couldn’t find her anywhere.

He searched frantically for her but she was still nowhere to be found. He paused for a while to wonder where she could be and a wild thought crossed his mind.

Perhaps, Silas sent men to abduct her in the middle of the night while we slept, he thought.

He got dressed and stormed out of the room, making his way to Silas’s home. When he got there, he tried to make his way through to confront Silas but Silas’s men refused him entrance. It was at that point that Silas stepped out.

“What’s this noise so early in the morning?” He asked but immediately he saw Xavier, confusion spread out on his face.

“Xavier? What are you doing here? You already took my mate with you last night. What other business do you have with me?” He asked.

“I’m here to get Olympia back,” Xavier replied.

“What the heck are you talking about? Have you forgotten you took her out of here last night, claiming you are her second chance mate? How dare you come here now to ask of her?” Silas said.

“I woke up this morning to an empty bed. Olympia is missing and my guess is that you took her,” Xavier replied.

Silas chuckled, upsetting Xavier even more.

“What’s so funny?” Xavier asked.

“Maybe Olympia realized that she doesn’t want you, despite being the father of her unborn child. Maybe she realized she made a mistake by choosing you over me and couldn’t find the courage to come back to ask me to take her back?” Silas replied with a smirk on his face.

Xavier tried to get closer to Silas to punch him across the face but Silas’s men were swift and pushed him back.

“Don’t ever say that. Remember you were the one who rejected her and I’m sure she would want nothing to do with you. I love Olympia and Olympia loves me too. There’s no way she ran away from me,” Xavier replied.

Silas’s smirk grew wide before speaking,

“If Olympia really loves you like you say she does, kindly explain why she would leave without a note or warning. Stop fooling yourself and accept the fact that she doesn’t want you.”

These words made Xavier pause for a while and think. Did Olympia really leave because she doesn’t love me? He thought. There was no other reasonable explanation for why she would just disappear without notice. Silas didn’t look like he had an idea of Olympia’s whereabouts, which made Xavier believe he was really innocent. He turned around to leave but Silas stopped him and said,

“I hope your bags are packed. You’ve overstayed your welcome in my kingdom. It is time for you to leave.”

Xavier ignored him and walked away. He gathered his things and drove out of Silas’s kingdom. He vowed that he was going to keep searching for Olympia no matter how long it was going to take him.

OLYMPIA’S POV

I didn’t stop running until daybreak. I asked around and found out I was in a town far from where I was coming from.

Xavier and Silas will never find me here, I thought.

I decided to settle in this new town but things were difficult for me because I had no shelter or job to provide for myself and my unborn child. One day, I was roaming the streets when a woman stopped me.

“You don’t look like you’re from around here,” she said and I nodded in response.

“Where are you from?” She asked me but before I could answer, I lost consciousness.

The next time I opened my eyes, I found myself in a white room surrounded by men and women in white robes. I tried to remember the last thing that happened but my memory was foggy. I tried sitting up but was stopped.

“You can’t sit up or stand right now. You still need to get enough rest,” a man in white said to me.

“Why? What happened to me?” I asked.

“A woman brought you in here. She said you fainted while talking to her,” the man in white answered.

My last memory before I passed out returned and I remembered talking to a woman on the street before everything went black.

“Am I in a hospital?” I asked.

“Yes ma’am. My name is Doctor Alfred,” the man in white said.

“You need to rest some more to regain your strength,” he added and I nodded in response, closing my eyes and succumbing to the darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, I saw the woman from earlier. When she noticed I was awake, she smiled at me.

“Thank goodness you’re awake. I was beginning to get worried,” she said.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“My name is Lola. And you?” She answered.

“Olympia’s my name,” I answered.

“That’s a beautiful name,” she said with a smile.

“Thank you,” I replied, smiling weakly.

“So earlier, I asked where you’re from. You don’t look like you’re from around here,” she said.

“No, I’m not. I came from somewhere faraway,” I replied, not wanting to reveal much to a complete stranger.

“Incase you don’t mind, why did you leave home? I’m asking because the doctor said you’re pregnant. You could use your family this period,” Lola asked.

“I’d rather not talk about it,” I replied.

“Okay then but do you have a place to spend the night,” she asked and I shook my head.

She paused for a minute like she was thinking. Then suddenly, she snapped her head towards me and said,

“I have an idea.”
