CHAPTER 4

Fatima was startled when she heard a series of knocks from the Cabin door. He got into the bath tub and frowned as he reached for the bathrobe and wrapped it around his wet body.

someone knocked on the door even faster when he didn't open it right away.

He grabbed the necklace pendant he was wearing. She could automatically press the distress button if someone outside had bad intentions for her.

She gulped audibly before twisting the door knob open. it was as if he had been struck by lightning and recoiled when he saw who was outside.

No way!

"Marcus..."

"Hello, Fatima." His face had no emotion.

He backed away. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm a member of this island."

He hugged himself tighter. "I should have guessed."

"What does that mean?"

He made it difficult. "Nothing." She turned her back and took clothes from the bag.

So much for relaxing. He will be leaving the island tomorrow. And why is he even here?

"Fatima."

He didn't say a word.

"Fatima."

He stood in the air and remained silent.

"Fatima, I'm talking to you." His voice was harsh.

He sighed and faced it. "What do you want us to talk about?" He smiled and raised an eyebrow at her.

"I'm staying here-"

"Oh, fuck you!" He angrily punched his arm. "When I was at home, you would stay there for two weeks. Then now that I'm gone and you're on the island, here you are again. What are you doing here, huh? Are you following me?"

That was an absurd observation. but he really couldn't think of any other reason why he was in front of her now.

"I'm not following you." Her face lost all emotion as she looked at him. "You're not worth my time, Fatima. I'm just here to pick you up. You don't fit in this Island. Martin would never like you to be here."

He smiled bitterly. "My husband is dead." That made her heart clench in pain. That was the first time he said that out loud. "And I'm not doing anything bad here on the Island. And who are you to say I don't fit in here?"

"Fatima-"

"Fuck off, Marcus!" His eyes were sharp. "You know what, I should really leave tomorrow when I see the look on your face." She took a threatening step towards Marcus. "But I've changed my mind. Why would I leave? I am invited. And I'm staying here. You can't make me leave."

his face darkened. "Are you making me angry?"

"Yes." He answered bravely and tall. "So fuck off. I'm not coming back with you."

"Don't anger me, Fatima." There's a dangerous edge on his voice.

"You can't scare me." He bravely met her gaze.

His jaw moved as a sign of restrained anger. "Don't make me angry, Fatima. You don't want me to be angry with you."

His courage is going to his head. He no longer listened to its warning to him.

"I'm not afraid of you." He said here.

His eyes turned wicked. "You should be." With that, he pushed her into the bed, straddled her waist, grabbed her wrist and seized it over her head.

"Marcus!" She glared at him. "Get off me!"

The corner of his lips rose, "how can I not?"

If only a look could kill, it's gone.

"Let go of me, Marcus." he could no longer hide the trembling in his voice.

He smirked and moved his face close to hers. Their lips are almost touching and it's making her body react differently.

"You shouldn't have angered me, Fatima." He bit her lower lip, slightly pulled it and then crashed his lips against hers.

Fatima gasped in shock at the contact of their lips. The softness of it stunned her. She always thought that it was hard and callous like his attitude.

And he didn't expect the sensation he felt. It sent thousands of electricity bolts throughout her body. the tingling sensation continued to assault her lips as Marcus started to move his lips against hers. Every time his lips brushed against hers, his grip on her wrist tightened and his kiss became more passionate.

Pham could feel the closeness of Marcus and his body. The way his hard chest was pressed intimately against hers, making her body burn. he shouldn't be feeling this with Marcus, but here it is and his body seems to be on fire just because of the simple contact of their bodies.

She needs to get away from Marcus. It revived his long dead body. after Martin's death, no man had gotten close to her the way Marcus is now. It was too much for her peace of mind. Marcus is too much. Too much for her.

He grabbed both of Marcus' shoulders and pushed him away from them with all his might. when their faces were at a distance, he stared at her with cold eyes.

"Get off me, Marcus." Her voice was cold, emotionless.

Uncertainty flashed his eyes. "Fatima..."

"Leave me alone, Marcus. Please." He still tries to be brave in front of her.

"Okay." Marcus left running after him and stared at him intently. "Fatima-"

"Get out." He pointed to the door. "Now."

"I can't." It shook its head. "I will live here in the Cabin."

He laughed heartily. "Whatever." He got up from the bed and went to the bathroom.

when he closed the bathroom door, his body fell flat on the cold tiles. She was exhausted for using too much of her energy to stay strong in front of Marcus.

Unconsciously, he touched her lips. He could still feel Marcus' lips there. and it scared her. Why? Because she likes the feeling of his lips on hers.

Martin... he closed his eyes tightly. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to feel that.

Pham was startled by a knock on the bathroom door.

"Fatima. I'm just going out for a moment." Marcus's voice. "I'll be back too. Don't go out."

He didn't answer. He remained face down on the floor while hugging himself.

PHAM didn't listen to Marcus. He exits the Cabin and explores the island. she didn't want to be in the Cabin because Marcus kissing her always came back to her mind.

She has to divert her mind.

Using the golf cart, he drove aimlessly until he stopped at a large Restaurant. It looks like a European inspired Restaurant.

he carefully walked into the entrance. She doesn't want people to hear the sound her stiletto makes every time the heel touches the ground. That's because he looks at what he's passing by. But she couldn't help it. It's still making a sound.

"Do you have a reservation, madam?" a voice called out to him.

She focuses her attention on the man who asked her. His simple glance at her from head to toe did not escape his eyes. There is admiration in its eyes.

He grabbed her waist and looked down at her clothes. she's wearing a tube top, below the knee, pencil cut dress that hugged her every curve. It wasn't a sexy dress, but the color red on her creamy skin makes it look sexy on her.

It's been a long time since he wore something like this. and that was the time when Martin was still alive and she attended parties with him.

"Well, ma'am?" The man woke her up again.

"I have no reservations." He said while looking around the whole restaurant.

He felt something when he noticed that there were men there who were staring at him as if they were going to eat him alive.

"Excuse me, ma'am. We are fully booked right now, eh. We don't have a table available for you." That man opposite.

She pressed her lips tightly. "Is that so?" He was about to step away when his eyes caught the man who drove him to the Cabin. "Hmm..."

He passed the man he was talking to and walked over to the man's desk.

She stops on his table. "Tariq," I hope his memory is correct.

the man immediately looked up and his eyes slightly rolled in shock. "Oh. Fatima."

"You are alone?" He asked here.

I hope it gets a nod. He is hungry.

He gestured with his hand across the table. "Sit down."

He smiled happily and hurriedly sat down in the chair. "Thank you. I'm hungry, huh."

He nodded at her with a smile and then called the waiter. After they ordered, he rested his elbow on the table and stared at her as if reading her mind.

"So..." Tariq drawls, "How's your stay?"

"Terrible."

the smile disappeared from his lips and concern approached it. "Did someone here insult you? Just tell me. I'll report it to the owner."

Her mind went back to Marcus kissing her. He simply shook his head.

"Ah, nothing." He took a deep breath. "I just saw the person I wanted to strangle because I was so annoyed."

"Oh." The smile returned to his lips. "I was wondering what's up."

Pham was surprised when he stood up.

"Are you leaving?"

"Sadly, yes. I still have something to do." he fixed the suit he was wearing then looked at his body. "Nice dress. You look beautiful."

His cheeks were slightly red. "Thank you."

"Hello, beautiful." He said and walked away from her while talking to someone on the cellphone.

Pham smiled. looks like she has the table all to herself. He's lucky. But wait, who will pay for Tariq's ordered food? Oh well... he has a credit card. Might as well use it.

Pham was stunned when someone approached her man. He's handsome, she gave him that.

he raised an eyebrow at her. "Do you need something?"

"I have a question." He said and smiled.

It was a dazzling smile, and she should be dazzled. But that had no effect on him.

"What's that?"

"Why is a beautiful girl like you alone?"

oh She gets it. it looks like it's trying to trap him. Men!

He simply raised his hand where his wedding ring was. He laughed softly when he saw the man step back.

"Enjoy your meal, ma'am." That man and quickly left him.

He caressed the wedding ring and smiled. so he doesn't delete it e. It drives men away from her.

Except him.

Pham was startled when someone sat in the chair left by Tariq.

"What the..." he trailed off as he noticed the person in front of him. "What are you doing here again?"

"Following you." Marcus replied.

"So you admit that you follow me."

He just shrugged and looked into her eyes. "If I say yes, what will you do?"

He made it difficult. "Go away. I want to eat alone."

"No can do, sweat heart. I'm staying."

She cringed in disgust. "Just please, Marcus, don't call me sweat heart. It's disgusting."

He chuckled sexily. "Okay. I'll stick with Fatima then."

He was about to face it again when the food that he and Tariq ordered arrived. He kept his mouth shut and shot Marcus a deadly look.

and as she glared at him, she couldn't stop her eyes from dropping down to his lips. He felt his throat dry. That kiss shouldn't affect her, damn it!

He quickly looked down and took a sip. "What do you need from me? If you followed me, you must have a purpose." he said and started eating.

Marcus took a sip of champagne before answering. "Here on the island, when a woman is alone, it means she is single. And trust me; men here would go to heaven and earth just so they could have you."

he laughed softly and held up his hand where his wedding ring was. "Sorry to burst their bubble, but I'm already married."

"Martin is dead."

"They don't know that."

"I do."

She stopped and stared at Marcus. What does it mean? "So?"

He opened his mouth to speak but immediately closed it. There was an emotion that he couldn't name in his eyes but it immediately disappeared and was replaced by a cold expression on his face.

"This is a mistake." He drained the champagne from the glass and clenched his fist. "Didn't I tell you not to leave the Cabin. Look what you got me into."

His eyebrows met. "What do you mean?" He was starting to get angry at this.

His mood darkened. "Look, men here are wolves and you are a sheep. if I leave you here they will eat you alive. Fuck this! I still have a lot to do." Then he mumbled. "I promise Martin that I'll take care of you, not babysit you. I don't have time for you and-"

He splashed the champagne in his face on her face.

he was not startled by his sharp eyes.

"You! You'll pay for this-"

"If you don't have time for me, I don't have time for you." He lost his appetite so he stood up and met his sharp gaze with sharp eyes. "And for your information, you're an asshole."

It was a big step for him to leave that restaurant and get on the golf cart

"I COULD throw her out if you want." That voice that Marcus knew well.

He didn't know that Lucas was here in the restaurant.

he wiped the champagne from his face with a table cloth then looked up at Lucas who was standing next to his table.

"Why?"

"For disrespecting a member." Lucas answered then picked up an oyster from the table and ate it. "Anyway, it's your call. You're the one who cheated on him."

he took a deep breath then stood up and straightened his slightly rumpled tuxedo. "Nah. It's good." He snaps his finger and a waiter came rushing towards his table. "Wrap it up and take it to Cabin six." He turned his attention back to the owner of the Island. "Leave her to me, Lucas."

He just shrugged and walked out of the restaurant. He also went out and called the Security Team.

"This is Marcus Dela Cruz. Can you tell me where Fatima Dela Cruz is?"

"Sir?"

He knew it was against the security team to give the location of a guest to the member. but maybe there is an exemption. His inspiration was used to get Fatima to go.

"I am the one who brought Fatima Dela Cruz here on the Island."

"I'm sorry, Sir." This is a polite response. "We can't give a location even if you are the one who bid. Sir Lucas and Sir Lucan strictly forbid you."

He cursed and hung up. Great! He has to search the whole island to find that woman!
