Chapter 4: Lost

After cooking I went to call Warren but he was already sleeping. I sat right in front of him and I can tell how handsome this guy is, his perfect facial structure, how thick his eyebrows, how long his eyes lashes and his pointed nose, his lips are red and looks soft. I gulped my saliva hard before it dripped on the floor. I was about to touch his face when he opened his eye and pulled me. I was lying down on top of him. It took about a minute before my senses came back. I tried to move out from his hug but he held me tighter.

"What are you doing earlier?" He asked.

"No-- None, I was just about to wake you up for dinner," I said stuttering.

"You sure? Because it looks like you were about to kiss me," He chuckled.

"Kiss my ass," I rolled my eyes. " Let go of me," I added.

"I won't," He said.

We look like playing tag of war but my body is the rope. We were in that position when Alona went inside.

"Hey, what are you two doing?" She shouted.

Warren immediately let go of my body, I stood up and fixed my clothes.

"Nothing," Warren and I answered.

I saw how Alona raised her brows up and down.

"Come now, let's eat," I said and started walking.

Alona was still staring at me, she is smiling like stupid.

"What?" I mouthed her.

She just rolled her eyes and laughed.

We all sat and started eating, I cannot focus on my food because Alona keeps on staring at me.

"So what's going on?" Alona asked.

Warren and I stared at her.

" The thing earlier, you know, if you two have something, you should have advised me not to go home today," She added.

"Nothing happened, nothing will happen to both of us!" I shouted.

I saw how shocked they were.

"Hey, Alona was just--" I stopped Warren from talking when I stood up.

"I lost my appetite," I said and walked out.

They keep on calling me but I did not face them, I walked straight to my room and locked it. I don't know how long I have been sitting when Alona knocked on the door.

"Yohan, can we talk?"

I didn't answer.

"I'm sorry, I was just loosing up the mood earlier,"

"Where's Warren?" I asked.

It took her a minute before she answered.

"He already went home," She said and took a deep breath. "Can I come in?"

She opened the door and sat next to me.

"Hey, I'm sorry,"

"Don't be, I'm not mad, it's just that I felt embarrassed in front of Warren,"

"Embarrassed because?"

"You know that I have a huge crush on him right? Then earlier, when I was lying on top of him, I cannot control myself, I wanted to kiss him, wanted to hug him for the rest of the nights, or the rest of the days," I said, tears were already formed in my eyes.

Alona took a deep breath." Then tell him, what if, he feels the same towards you? "

I glanced at her," That will never happen, we both know Alona that Warren is straight, and do you still remember the thing he told me when I tried to confess my feelings last time?"

" You know what Yohan, I love you, and I want you to stay by my side for the rest of my life, I love you my best friend, my brother, "

" But that was like three years ago, people change,"

" Yes, people change but the words they said will never be, even though it was three years ago, every time I think of confessing my feelings for him, those words keep on playing in my mind. And I don't want to ruin the friendship we had, I don't want him to feel uncomfortable when he's with me, " I wiped the water in my lashes.

She rubbed my back.

" Yohan, you know what? It's not bad trying to confess again. There's no bad in trying, then if he insisted to be with you as a friend, that's the time for you to move on and remove all worries in your heart. Sometimes, one word is enough to explain everything."She said." Wait for me here, " She added and went out. It took her a minute when she went back carrying beers.

" Time to unwind, " She said and handed me the bottle of beer.

I smiled and took the beer, I am not good at drinking and Alona knows that. But today, it feels like I wanted to drown myself with these alcohols.

While drinking, I decided to play a game with Alona. She immediately agreed and open her mobile application. Alona is also one of the best ML players here, so basically, we are both good at playing this.

As I open the game, Pretty Boy invited me instantly. I also invited Alona.

We were already in the lobby when Pretty boy sent a message.

"Who's this pretty girl?" He asked.

"My friend," I answered.

" Who's this guy?" Alona asked.

"Pretty boy, the one who invitef me last time," I explained.

The game started, as usual, I used Odette and he used Johnson while Alona used Tigreal. The game was awesome, we enjoyed it so much. We won 5 straight games in a row.

After the last match, Pretty boy sent me another message telling me to have a drink with him. I refused his offer.

"Let's drink today," He said.

"No, I don't want to,"

The wind blew strong so I went to the window to close it, I was about to close it when I saw Warren standing outside, shivering while holding his phone. He immediately hid his phone when he saw me looking at him, he immediately waved in my direction.

"What are you doing there?" I asked

"Who's that?" Alona asked she was busy fixing the television.

"Warren is standing outside like stupid," I said.

"What!" She shouted and stood beside me.

"Call him immediately, it's very cold outside," She said and handed me a sweater.

"O-Okay," I said and walked out.

I was already outside the door when he walked near me.

It feels like we were in a movie, the surroundings began to slow-mo while he walked near me. My heart started beating fast and even though it is very cold right now, I can feel how hot my face was.

This is Warren's impact on me.

He was always there but I blind-eyed and didn't see him.
