CHAPTER SEVEN

"HOW do you wonder?" Evie asked me when I spoke to her on the phone.

"Tsk, fun?" I was speechless and immediately changed the subject. "Where are you right now?"

I stuck the phone between my ear and shoulder then put on my black pants.

"Here in America, in the famous hospital, where I can get the fastest result of DNA test." There was a trace of sarcasm in his voice.

The corner of my lips turned up and I moved the phone to my other ear for a moment to put on the black jacket. I also tied my hair and put on the hoodie.

"Let me guess what you are doing," he spoke again.

I grinned. "Yeah?"

I heard his sigh. "You're leaving? You're going to your old house again?"

"Correct."

"But Naziena!" He immediately objected. "You can't go there anymore! Don't you still have school tomorrow as Nana? Focus first!"

I laughed a little and shook my head. "Don't take it too serious. I'll go in when I want. I'm 23, Evie, I know what I am doing."

I stared at myself in the mirror when I got ready. I wear my best all black clothes every time I go out so as not to be recognized. I know there are people still looking for me and that's Campbell's people. if not them, then my relatives who have bad plans against me come second.

I was never safe. I have been aware of this life since childhood. To run, hide, and pretend to be someone else. I can only trust Evie and her family. they are the only ones who know my secret and they themselves give me a lot of help.

"I'm just going to visit mama's soul." I'll even apologize to Evie on the other line.

His sigh grew louder. "Your mother's soul is no longer here. It's in heaven!"

I raised one eyebrow. "Heaven? You know my mama, Ev. How can he go to heaven, he has committed almost all the sins."

"Well, what do you expect me to say? That aunt is already in hell so you don't have to go back to your old house?"

I winced. "Better." I put my gun in the belt hanger. "Bye, Ev. Am I hanging up?"

"But Naziena! You're really stubborn! What if you get caught going there again!? Remember last time--"

"Bye!" I immediately hung up on him.

I got out of the apartment and went to the dirty garage where I hid my motorcycle. I coughed from the scattered dust in the room. It's good that I covered my motorcycle with a cloth so that it doesn't get dirty and also so that no one else can see. Maybe even interesting and stolen.

"Hi, baby!" I jumped to get on it and immediately started the engine. "I miss riding you."

I put on the helmet and started the motorcycle without a hitch. I can feel the strong wind that greets me no matter how thick my jacket is. I passed every car that blocked me as if I was racing. Now I can ride my motorcycle again!

I let out a loud scream that was just blown away by the wind. It feels different every time I do it. It's like I'm free from everything!

"Whoooooooooo!!" That's all I laughed after screaming. I made my motorcycle go even harder!

I had been traveling for almost five hours and the sky was covered in darkness, I knew how far our old house was from the apartment I rented. I'm used to traveling that far since then. So when I reached the old house I didn't care about the tiredness. I parked the motorcycle in the yard then turned off the lights.

I took off my helmet and smiled when I saw our house. it's so dark, the white paint is covered in black and the house is just that dirty. Plants surround our yard and the soils are absolutely disgusting. I also hear the sound of frogs and crickets. I won't wonder why it's called a haunted house.

I just stepped over the police tape blocking the door and went inside. Until now it hasn't been demolished but it seems that just one wrong move by me can make it collapse. no one can interfere with it because it is named and kept by Evie's family until now.

I started walking on the floor that was still full of bruises. for several years it has not been touched, what happened then still looks the same today. I entered our room where I last saw mom and Duziell.

I stared at the closet for a long time and I started to feel my body shaking. cold sweat formed on my forehead and nervousness rumbled in my chest. But before I completely lost myself, I averted my eyes from there and closed my eyes tightly.

I took a breath and let it out. I did that a few times until he calmed down. I didn't look at the closet again and just looked at the floor where I last saw mom lying. I approached there and slightly knelt down.

"M-Mama," I swallowed. My voice trembled at the first word. "Mom.. how are you?"

I tried to smile but I failed to do so. "I'm still looking for Duziell, ma.. I know he's around and I think I've found him.. B-But.."

I couldn't finish what I was going to say when I heard footsteps!

I was immediately alerted and quickly stood up in my place. I immediately pulled out my gun and carefully cocked it.

I aimed my gun at the door. When no one entered there for a while, I silently stepped out of the room. but before I could completely go out, my gun suddenly went off!

I was surprised to see the person who kicked me but his strong fist met me!

That's all I did and I almost fell! I immediately stood up and fought when he was about to hit me with a gun!

"Aah!!" I kicked him hard in the bottom and he moaned loudly!

I quickly moved to grab his gun and also picked up my gun on the floor. I pointed the same at him. like me she wears pure black but hers is formal! He was a big man and half his face was covered with a black cloth.

"Say the name of your org or die!!" I was about to pull the trigger of a gun but I let it go when someone pulled me from behind!

It threw me with all its force causing my head to hit the nearby wall! My vision darkened slightly and I felt dizzy..

"S-Shit.." I grabbed my head and tried to get myself up.

When I turned around, I saw that they were standing in front of me with their guns pointed at me! I froze and looked for anything to hold on to.

"You are Naziena De Ayala, aren't you?" I heard someone ask.

When I got hold of a bottle I threw it at one of them without hesitation! Headshot!

I immediately found time to run. I even heard the loud moan of one as they fired a gun!

"Ahh!" I even tripped while running!

For the second time, I quickly rode my motorcycle. I raced to start the engine and they almost overtook me!

When I was finally able to drag the motor away from the place! I never put on my helmet and left my gun! bad luck, they were really waiting for me in that place!

They saw my face.. that's shit!

I flew my motorcycle even more on the dark road. The sky was engulfed in darkness and there were still no lights on the road. However, I couldn't stop beating the motor.

but I honked one after another when someone suddenly crossed the road! Before I could even brake the motorcycle, it hit him hard!

"F-Fuck!" The distance he rolled on the cement!

I immediately hesitated whether to approach or just run away again. but I hadn't made up my mind yet when I was surprised because he got up and sat on the pavement while his shoulder hurt.

"D-Dude.. why did you hit me?" There is a trace of drunkenness in his voice! And still laughing!

"R-Ryker?" That's how big my eyes are.

"T-Take me.." he raised one of his hands. "Hospital.."

I was about to get off the motorcycle when I was shocked to see Colby coming!

I hastily and frantically grabbed the helmet from the back of the motorcycle and put it on my head!

"What the?!" Colby shouted loudly and supported Ryker on the pavement.

"L-Leave me alone, loser!" Ryker's voice is really loud and he's being blown away!

"You're drunk, dude! And you've been hit by a motorcycle!" Colby gasped loudly and turned to me, which I stopped.

Colby walked up to me, his eyebrows met and that's all the rage. I even fixed my helmet so he couldn't recognize me.

"Are you looking at the road, pre?" He used to ask me arrogantly. I didn't respond. "If you're looking, why haven't you stayed with this one yet? I hope you've run into it."

I choked on my own saliva because of what he said. I turned again to Ryker who was lying on the pavement and rolling around.

but my attention was quickly taken away by the noise of the car coming from behind me. I turned around and my shock tripled!

Shit! They follow me!

I restarted the engine and passed Ryker and Colby without a word. I revved the motor again and ran away in a hurry!

I changed direction and went through every alley to lose the car following me. After winning, I left the place completely.

But.. what are those two doing in this place?
