CHAPTER FIVE

"THREE to four weeks?!" I screamed in shock and stared at Evie in disbelief.

He nodded and looked around my apartment. "Are you sure you can sleep here in this apartment, Naziena? It's smelly and dirty! You're still an artist."

I closed my eyes tightly. "Explain to me first, Evie. How about three to four weeks before I know the results of the DNA test?" I asked calmly.

He patted the side of my bed before sitting there as if it was just that dirty. I rolled my eyes, he was really artistic. he still looked around the room with frustration.

"If I were you, just get a condo unit. You have a lot of money." He suggested more.

"Ev, please, focus!"

"It's like your apartment is getting dirty. It's disgusting!"

he really wasn't paying attention to our conversation! Annoyed, I stood up to grab my gun from the drawer. I pointed it at him and he was shocked.

"Okay! Okay! Let me fofocus!" He kissed me. "Of course, Naz, the DNA test takes a really long time. you won't know the result right away. You have to wait, no!"

I dejectedly put the gun down and went back to sitting on the bed. "It's been a while."

"That's right! Be patient. if you are desperate to know if that Campbell's son is really your brother, be patient in waiting. Three weeks is not long. Time flies, you'll be surprised one day when that day comes."

I felt my senses. "That didn't help. for me that's a long time."

He laughed and patted my back. "Well, there's nothing you can do."

I turned to him. "Make it one week, Ev."

His eyes widened slightly. "Am I the doctor? How can I make it one week?"

I looked at him desperately. "Do it, Evie! i can't wait that long! I want to know if that Ryker is my brother so I can get him! But if he's not my brother.." My eyes narrowed.

He will pay for his father's wedding!

I heard Evie's loud sigh. I was stunned by the absence.

That Ryker, too picky! Oh, I honestly don't want the time to come to see the positive in the DNA test. I'm sure I'll have a hard time with his attitude when he happens to be Duziell. how did that Flencher raise him?

"I'll go now." My attention was caught when Evie walked by.

"But the result, Ev! I need it asap--"

"Yes, I know, Naz! It's up to me. I'll go to America if you need faster results." He promised with a grimace.

my heart came alive and chased after him to hug! "Aww! Best cousin ever!"

I heard her laugh. "But you owe me, baby girl."

I smiled big. "I'll give you whatever you want!"

"I want a luxury car." Excitement broke out in his voice.

I lost my smile and let go of the hug. "No."

"But you said whatever I want! What a trick!"

I shook my head and pushed him. "No way, you'll just destroy it, Ev. If you drive a car, it's like killing yourself."

He tormented me and made me sneeze. "I just want a box of jewelry."

I got pissed off. "Whatever! Go away."

"Sure! I don't want to stay here, it stinks here! Pwe! I can't believe you can stay here all ni---"

"Goodbye!"

I closed the door on him and shook my head. Evie is artistic, she doesn't like this place. But I'm used to it. when I was a child I used to sleep on the road. I almost lived on the street because I didn't know where I could go. I was 6 years old back then. There's nothing naive, I just keep calling mom.. which I know.. is dead.

I fell down on the bed and started to feel the loss again. How does it feel.. to have a family?

"Hmm.. Duziell.. you are my only hope."

Sister Nana already misses you..

I closed my eyes and remembered the last moment I was with him. it was like a nightmare for that man to take her. I will never forget the trauma..

I took a bath early the next day. I float while fixing myself, I hardly know what I'm doing. It's like it feels heavy to come in today.

I will see that Ryker again, mistaking me for being obsessed with him. Shoot! I don't really know what to do when he is my brother!

I didn't realize I had dressed myself up in just an hour.

I'm wearing P.E. uniform because our gym class schedule is every Wednesday. It's my type of color, gray mixed with black.

I left the apartment and walked to the jeep. While I was riding there I felt myself.

Is it light? Why do I feel better all of a sudden?

My eyes narrowed when I saw a mamong in the jeep staring at me a while ago. I just ignored him until I got to Campbell Academy. Compared to my mansion, my apartment is very close to the school.

"Good morning, guard!" I greeted with a big smile.

He smiled back. "Nays! That's how it should be, not late!"

"Yes! HAHA!"

I continued to enter until the path way. But I still feel really light? I can't be restless, it's really light! as if something is wrong with my easy feeling?

I stopped walking, did I leave something in the apartment? What is that?

Why am I floating while moving earlier? I feel like I'm missing something but I don't know what!

"The crazy girl is here!"

"Look at her! she looks like stupid standing there!"

"Pfft! Hahahahaha! She's an idiot!"

"Oh my god! Look at her--" I didn't hear what followed when a woman just whispered to her companions and they laughed at the same time.

I just shook my head and continued walking. but it's surprising that every time some students look at me, they laugh.

Is it still because of my looks?

But something is really wrong!

I just put it aside until I got to the locker area. That's how my curiosity worked when I heard Aliyah scream.

"Can't you stop?! You're so mean Ryker! Leave Colby alone! You're being too much?!!"

"I see.." Ryker's voice! "Do you want to be my punching bag instead?"

My eyebrows crossed and I walked straight to the place. in the distance I could see Colby writhing in pain on the pavement! While Aliyah was trembling standing in front of Ryker. Now that the fists are clenched, there is a trace of anger.

"W-When will you stop? Until you kill?! until you kill Colby or whoever you trip?!" Aliyah yelled at him again, still shaking.

"Why do you care so much? Get lost." Ryker's response was cold but emphatic.

"Colby is my best friend! And you're hurting him NONSTOP! I can't stand it anymore! if you don't tell the teachers here because you're the son of the school owner, I'll just put you in jail!"

Ryker grinned loudly. "Try it then." He pointed at Colby. "He'll end up living on a street. His mother is one of my maids, if I'm gone.. they will lose their job."

"Aliyah, s-stop." Colby tried to stand up to pull Aliyah.

"N-No! How can you let him hurt you!" She shed tears, continued to tremble.

I winced. Early in the morning, prone to fighting. What's going on between them? As well as when I first entered, the two of them were the scene.

I only lost sight of them when my male classmates blocked me. They were really angry yesterday!

"Hi, Nana!" one greeted me kindly but obviously annoyed. "It's Nick."

I grinned at him. "Nick? The one who said I'm attracted to you?"

He smirked. "Is it not?"

"Can I kiss you?"

"Go ahead." He brought his head closer to me as if he loved me too.

I winced even more. "I don't want to touch your head, my hands will get dirty."

He laughed, still enjoying it! "You're kind of interesting, Nana."

My face was completely wrinkled. is he flirting with me? 'Those with him are just laughing behind his back. That means I'm going to be tripped up by crazy people. Tsk, it's men.

That Nick even approached me. It was a little strange because his eyes were on my chest. What is he looking at?

"Are you crazy?" I asked irritated.

He grinned mischievously. "How about you? Are you going crazy?"

My eyebrows met. "What did you say?"

He looked down at my chest. "Because that's what I see..."

I clenched my fist, I was about to hit him with my hard fist when someone pulled him away from me and I was shocked when he fell on the pavement! Not only that because his head hit a nearby locker!

Shoot, that hurts!

I looked up in surprise. I swallowed one after the other when I saw Ryker staring intently at the other boys.

"Want to fight?" He asked them emphatically.

The men lost their earlier grins and automatically backed away. They picked Nick up and left without a word. like dogs with their tails parted!

I shivered when Ryker turned his sharp gaze on me. B-Why do I see Flencher Campbell's eyes in his eyes..

Even a few years ago... I will never forget that man's face especially when he killed my mom.

Ryker's eyes now, take from his father..

I recoiled when he approached me. It seems that at any moment I can run for some unknown reason. but I couldn't move from the place when he took off his leather jacket.

I was stunned when he placed it on both of my shoulders.

"Don't you have a bra? I can see your hard nipples."

My eyes widened. "Huh?"

He averted his eyes. "You're not wearing any bra, Nana."

My lips parted and I looked down at my chest in shock!!

Shoooot! That's why it's light!! Wow!! Shame!

"Waaah! Huhu, it seems like something is missing! That's why I feel free!" W-I'm not wearing a bra!

of the many things I can forget in the apartment, here it is!

Is that why that Nick said that I'm pretending? Is that why the girls were laughing earlier? Is that why the guy in the jeep just stared at me like that?!

I covered my face. "Shoot!"

in P.E. I'm still in uniform, so it's obvious.

"Tsk, stupid witch." I looked up at Ryker.

"P-Let me borrow your jacket first?" I hope question.

He didn't look at me, I quickly put on the jacket and closed it. Very loose on me, too big!

"Give it back to me after class." He said and suddenly turned his back on me. He arrogantly walked away.

I smiled and let out a shout. "Thank you! Ryker!"

I let out a loud breath and continued walking until I reached the classroom.
