Chapter 11 Penalty

The painting had two layers, which shocked the people on the scene.

Although it looked precisely the same as the copy outside, people could feel the spirit and liveliness when they saw it.

Even someone who knew nothing about antiques could tell it was valuable.

Su Beishan’s excited face further confirmed that it was authentic work.

“Such a complete authentic work of high quality is indeed rare,” an old man with gray hair remarked with a sigh.

“Mr. Bei, how much does it cost approximately?” Su Wenbin asked anxiously.

The old man thought for a moment and replied, “I heard one painting of Tang Bohu had been auctioned for over several billion yuan.”

‘Several billion yuan!’

All people on the scene were shocked.

It was a lot more times than all their properties combined.

The old man added, “Stop overthinking. The worth of antique paintings and calligraphy works is calculated by inches. This painting is well protected but too small...”

“However, it definitely costs several million yuan.”

‘Several million yuan? That’s also a lot of money!’

Su Wenbin regretted it and couldn’t believe he had missed several million yuan.

His eyes reddened. Gritting his teeth, he snapped, “Qin Tian, you son of bitch! You knew what’s going on with this painting long ago, didn’t you?”

“How dare you make fun of me!” he roared angrily.

The next second, he grabbed a wine bottle and was about to beat Qin Tian up.

“Mind your manners!”

Su Beishan scowled at him and reminded him, “Wenbin, no matter what, Qin Tian is Su Su’s husband, and we are family.”

“No matter what happens, he’s your brother-in-law.”

Su Beishan defended Qin Tian in public, which shocked others again.

Qin Tian gained Su Beishan’s favor by presenting a painting. Although many people were not convinced, they had to admit they envied him.

In the Su family, Su Beishan was the alpha.

Since he had accepted Qin Tian as his grandson-in-law, no one would dare to object to it.

“Well done, Qin Tian.”

“I love your gift the most among all of them.”

“Tian, why don’t you pass the painting to Grandpa. Let’s have a drink.” Several young men battled smiles, trying to pull Qin Tian to their sides.

Su Wenbin returned to his senses right then.

He knew Yang Yulan had a cosmetics patent that belonged to Su Su, which was priceless.

Qin Tian had returned. Su Wenbin wondered if he would help Yang Yulan stage a comeback.

Or, maybe his grandfather wanted to pull Qin Tian to his side as he tried to obtain the patent through Qin Tian.

Immediately, Su Wenbin realized Qin Tian’s value.

“Tian, sorry for my rudeness just now. I know you won’t just take it to your heart. Please forgive me.”

“As an apology, let me toast to you. Sorry, Tian.” As he spoke, he filled a glass with liquor and gulped it down in one go.

As one of the most outstanding young men in the Su family, Su Wenbin was flexible enough, just like Su Wencheng.

Others echoed and applauded.

The scene became lively and happy again.

However, weirdly, Qin Tian sneered in silence while holding the painting and standing opposite Su Beishan.

“Qin Tian, give me the painting.”

“I’ll get a frame and keep it well.”

“It’s too costly. If it’s broken, I’ll feel truly sorry,” said Su Beishan, reaching out his hands excitedly toward the painting.

A trace of a sneer flashed through Qin Tian’s eyes. Instead of letting him take the painting, Qin Tian took a step back.

Su Beishan was taken aback, and his expression changed slightly.

Suddenly, a loud honk was heard outside the door.

Along with a dog’s bark, a man laughed aloud arrogantly. “So you all have arrived. Sorry I’m a bit late.”

“Wencheng arrived!”

“Master Wencheng is here!”

Many people stood up in excitement.

A young man swaggered into the hall. He wore a white suit, and next to him was an Afghan hound.

They both were just arrogant with the same triumphant look.

“Howdy, Wencheng?” Su Wenbin rushed to him while greeting him cheerfully.

Bowing at Su Wencheng, he added, “Have you met those hospital deans in person. Our herb sales will increase again, right?”

Su Wencheng nodded and chuckled, “You lucky bastard!”

“Except for the Hospital of Stillwater, I gained cooperation with the rest of those major hospitals in town.”

“Get the contracts signed after the holiday.”

Su Wenbin couldn’t help grinning at him.

Other relatives fawned over them both immediately.

“Grandpa.” Su Wencheng walked to Su Beishan, leading his dog. When he saw Qin Tian, he burst into laughter. “Oops! Isn’t this the food delivery guy?”

“You married into our family. Think you are somebody now?”

“By the way, is your wife also here?”

“Su Su, what are you holding?”

“It smells nice. Let my dog take a bite.”

As he spoke, he released the leash and let the Afghan hound pounce at Su Su.

“What are you doing?” Yang Yulan paled, hurriedly standing in front of Su Su protectively.

The Afghan hound barked at her fiercely. Blood drained from her face. She didn’t know what to do.

Qin Tian roared angrily. He rushed over and kicked the dog off.

It let out a cry in pain, rolling away. The next second, the dog became fiercer. With reddish eyes, it bounced up and wanted to bite Qin Tian.

However, after meeting his gaze, the dog shivered in fear, horror springing in its eyes.

It ran back to Su Wencheng with its tail between its legs.

Su Wencheng was riled up.

He asked his friend to buy this purebred dog from abroad and he had literally spoiled it.

Once when he walked the dog on the street, a blind man accidentally pocked the dog with his crutch. Su Wencheng sent his men to break that blind man’s legs.

He doted on his pet dog and couldn’t allow others to even touch it.

However, Qin Tian kicked it.

Su Wencheng went ballistics.

“Asshole! I’ll kill you,” he roared in a fury.

Suddenly, he pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Qin Tian, his eyes bloodshot.

‘A gun? Su Wencheng pulled out a gun.’

It raised a mighty uproar on the scene. Many people hurriedly hid away, afraid they would be shot by accident.

Qin Tian, Yang Yulan, and Su Su were immediately isolated, becoming the target.

Yang Yulan’s face became ashen. She was a woman after all, so she was too afraid to utter a word.

“Bastard! Think you can do anything with just a painting?”

“Maybe you should beg Wencheng on your knees now,” Su Wenbin yelled triumphantly.

Qin Tian sneered. Staring at Su Wencheng, he bit out, each word a staccato, “I promise you’ll kick the bucket as soon as you shoot.”

“You!” Su Wencheng looked into his eyes. Suddenly, he felt too stressed to hold the pistol still.

When he saw them in a stalemate, Su Beishan stood up and chimed in, “Calm down, Wencheng.”

“Qin Tian is Su Su’s husband, your brother-in-law.”

“Even though he has offended you, you should forgive him for my sake.”

“It’s a happy day for reunion. Put the gun down.”
