Chapter 3: Last visit

Tulay pov:

Two days goes by so quickly that I think I fled through time and here I am finally ready to leave this place where I have spend my whole life and go to an unknown kingdom which I knew nothing about. Today a royal carriage will be arriving to take me toward the Ajax kingdom. But I have one thing left to be done before leaving.

Hood over my head I walk down the street trying to look as small as I can this part of town always scares me because I have never seen this street crowded, it look likes the perfect spot for a crime but its an easy shortcut for my destination.

Walking in daze I suddenly hit a chest and I immediately started to panic and I silently pray in my head, please don’t be him please. As I look up there standing an inch away from me is bill adorning his evil smirk. Oh no this doesn’t look friendly but trying my best I put on a smile and say “hi bill nice to encounter you I was actually on my way to greet my brother”. “My dear tulay pleasure is all mines what’s the hurry about I am sure you can use some breath as you have been walking for a while” he said creepily.

“No I have to get back at my aunts as soon as I can” with that I walked past him to create as much distance as can put between us but of course he isn’t letting me of hook easily. He caught my left arm in firm grip and said “how about you allow me to get a taste and I will let you go” he leaned closer to me “you smell delicious” he said while licking his lips. “Um bill I have to go another time I promise” I said sounding as composed as I can be.

I tried pull my arm away but was completely at lose he jerked me closer and sniffed my neck I let out a whimper in fear for what is coming next. Next moment I felt his fangs plunging at right side of my neck and it felt like someone is extracting life out of me which he is I screamed in pain. He stood back wiping my blood of his fangs letting me fall on the ground “see it just took me seconds it wasn’t that hard was it?” with that he left in milliseconds and me sniffing on the ground cursing myself for taking the shortcut.

When I reached orphanage my brother was already standing outside like he knew about my arrival upon seeing me he came rushing towards me and hurled me in a bone crushing hug “happy birthday sister” he said his voice thick with emotions. I kissed his cheeks in response and let out giggles “stop eww my cheeks are now drenched in saliva” I smacked his head and he hugged me once again.

“Noah I want to tell you something” I said dreading how my one year younger brother would react to my leaving this kingdom. He nodded his head indicating me to continue “I am going to Ajax kingdom” he took a step back his mouth open “Whaat why?’” he asked shocked.

Gods I feel guilty “Um I kind of um applied for queen candidacy in Ajax kingdom” I looked down not being able to maintain eye contact. “And you got selected oh my gods” he asked surprised like he didn’t expected it to be true “Yes” I replied timidly. “That is so great” he again hugged me tightly and I am stunned I didn’t expected such reaction from him.

“But I feel sad for leaving you behind” I aid with hint of guilt in my voice “Nonsense don’t be and besides how would it be when I’ll be queens brother” he said mischievously I smacked his arm playfully “ouch that actually hurts” he said faking injured arm and I laughed at that.

In the afternoon a royal carriage arrived to pick me up. I thanked lord and lady Randell my aunt and uncle for letting me stay with them and headed out of the house.

“Lady Zeren” an accompanying guard said with a tilt of his head “my name is Andrew and you will be traveling with us for Ajax kingdom. “Please call me Tulay instead” with that I entered into carriage which Andrew helped me with another guard placed the bag of my belonging in the chest at the back of carriage. Andrew explained me about our journey toward their kingdom “we will be traveling whole day and stopping only when needed we will stay at a inn tonight that is close to our kingdom borders” I just nodded in reply.

I just hope that it just doesn’t become my last journey ever.
