"Let her go, mom." Chloe said after a while.
She dissuaded Kylie from punishing Alice. She wanted to look perfect in Jordan's eyes, so she acted being innocent.
Kylie stopped beating Alice and looked at her daughter to hear what she was saying.
"It's not her fault." Chloe continued.
"Why are you trying to defend her Chloe?" Kylie asked, exasperating.
Alice was lying on the floor, still not moving. She was silently crying, not making any sound in fear that if Kylie heard her she'll again start beating her.
"It can't be helped now. Jordan and I are really not meant to be together." Chloe said and started fake crying.
Kylie got even angrier with Alice after hearing Chloe's words, and she started beating Alice again, more harshly.
"It's all your fault!" Kylie repeated.
Alice was so desperate to leave this room.
When Kylie got distracted by something that Chloe said, she took it as her chance and ran towards the door and left the room.
Alice's body burned with the pain. She could not even walk properly, but she left the room for the sake of her baby.
When Alice was in the hallway, she stood there with the support of the wall. Alice cried in the hallway, cursing her life.
She was in so much pain. She was too heartbroken that even Jordan didn't try to help her.
He stood there and watched her being beaten up, but said and did nothing to prevent her from further injuries.
She asked herself what has she done to deserve this. Why everyone was so cold to her and never loved her.
She thought that marrying Jordan will change her life, but it did not change even a bit.
He always treated her coldly and always cared for Chloe.
Jordan always looked at Chloe lovingly, but when it came to Alice, he just felt annoyed and hateful.
Alice knew Chloe was just faking everything to get Jordan's attention and make her the villain in their story.
But she also knew that however hard she tried to explain herself to Jordan, she wouldn't be able to convince him because in his eyes Chloe was always right.
She thought she should see a doctor for her injuries. She wanted to be sure that her baby was in good condition.
She wouldn't be able to forgive herself if anything happened to her baby.
She strolled towards the doctor's office for her body check-up.
The doctor did her check-up and told her that the baby is perfectly fine and normal.
When the doctor asked her how she got those injuries, she replied by saying that she lost her balance and fell from the stairs.
The doctor told her to be careful next time as it was dangerous for the baby. Alice promised the doctor that she'll be careful and left to go home.
When she made her way out of the hallway, she noticed Jordan making his way out of the hospital.
She walked faster to catch up to him, even though her body was not cooperating, and it was painful for her.
Jordan caught the sight of Alice coming, so he halted in his tracks.
"Jordan I..."
Jordan didn't let Alice finish and cut her off.
"Don't talk to me. I don't care. Just go away." He said annoyingly and left her standing there alone.
Alice watched Jordan walking away, and she again felt depressed. Why can't Jordan hear her out for once in her life? She thought.
*****
When Alice reached her car, she noticed she doesn't have her phone.
She tried to remember where she left it and then concluded that she must have dropped it in Chloe's ward.
She placed her hand on her head and sighed. She needed to get her phone back from there.
She strolled back to the hospital and towards Chloe's ward.
She was about to open the door and enter inside, but she stopped midway.
She heard her foster parents talking about something. She didn't want to eavesdrop, but what she heard made her speechless.
"I shouldn't have made that mistake." Chloe said frustratingly.
"If only I have gone into the right room then I would have married Jordan, not that Alice." Chloe continued.
"We made Jordan so drunk that he couldn't have remembered anything and sent him to the room to you but you were not there." Kylie said.
"The plan was good if you had not messed up." Edward said to Chloe.
"It was not my fault that I went to the wrong room. Somehow Alice walked in to Jordan's room that day." Chloe muttered.
Alice put a hand on her mouth. She remembered that night. It was last winter.
Chloe and her parents went for dinner with Jordan that night. They didn't invite Alice and never told her about the dinner.
Alice saw them at a restaurant when she went there to meet a client for business purposes.
But they all ignored her. Alice saw Jordan from far talking to her family and felt a pang of hurt.
After dinner, Alice felt sick and doubted she could drive so she went to the hotel beside the restaurant.
Later that night, Alice woke up to a screeching sound and saw her hotel room door open.
It was dark in the room, she only saw a shadow lingering at the room door. Alice was scared out of her mind.
She stood up from her bed and slowly walked towards the person who was inside her room.
"Excuse me, you are in the wrong room." She tried to explain but as she got closer, she realized it was a man and he was drunk.
The man stumbled and lost his balance. Alice walked closer to the man, she recognized him as Jordan.
"Jordan, what are you doing?" She screeched, but he didn't reply and just tried to reach towards the bed.
Alice placed Jordan's hand around her neck and helped him reach the bed.
Alice was about to let Jordan go, but Jordan fell on the bed along with Alice.
It surprised Alice and she moved to get away from him. But Jordon rolled over and was at the top of Alice staring at her with lust in his gaze.
"I want you..." He said.
Alice's eyes widened as she heard Jordan. Alice's heartbeat quickened.
She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could have, Jordan placed his lips on hers. He kissed her harshly.
Alice tried to stop Jordan by placing her hands on his chest, but Jordan grabbed her hands and continued kissing her.
He started taking his clothes off. Alice tried to get away, but Jordan grabbed her and started taking her clothes off.
Alice started crying and pleaded for Jordan to stop, but he didn't.
He took all her clothes off and kissed her again as his hands roamed all around her body.
She felt disgusted at herself as she never thought that she will lose her virginity like that.
She wanted her first night to be special. But Jordan forced her that night as he was drunk and had sex with Alice.
Alice felt that a piece of her was broken that night.
The next morning when Jordan found Alice next to him, he blamed her and called her a whore.
He even said that she planned it to have sex with him. Alice tried to convince him, but Jordan didn't budge.
He told her to get out of the room and not to show her face again.
Alice left the room after hearing Jordan shout and cried on her way back to her home.
She was innocent and wanted to convince Jordan that she didn't plot anything, but she didn't have any proof.
Since that day Jordan thought of Alice as a whore and a gold digger and felt hatred towards her.
However, every time Alice tried to prove her innocence to Jordan, he never listened and always ignored her.
Now, as she stood outside Chloe's ward, she understood what really happened.
They plotted everything but made a mistake due to which Alice has to suffer.
She always blamed herself for ever getting to that hotel to sleep, but it was all along their fault.
She was forced to have sex with Jordan because of them. Alice was shocked and felt angry.
She felt rage inside her when she remembered that night. She wanted to do something.
She wanted Jordan to know how they all plotted it, and she was innocent all along.
Even after that night, no one from her family told her about the truth.
Alice turned the doorknob and walked inside, burning with rage.
