Chapter 8

"Where do you want to eat?" I asked.

We are here at the mall near our Campus. We have the freedom to roam around during lunch break, but we were only given 30 minutes to take our lunch. Fortunately, there is no regular class scheduled today, so we were released early.

"I don't know," he replied.

I rolled my eyes. "Greenwich, Plaza Mocha, Gilligans, Wingstreat, Wendys, Mang Inasal?" I enumerated, "C'mon, choose."

He just chuckled. We are becoming the centre of attention; there are a few who look in our direction. Here we are in the middle, arguing over where we are going to eat.

"I'm hungry! You have to make your decision now."

"Where do you want to eat?" He stopped walking and looked at me, "Mang Inasal o a 'kin ikasal?

"It's just Greenwich." He just laughed when I ignored what he said.

"Oh," I said and gave him my money. "You order," I tasked him and gave him a greenish smile.

"Why me?"

"Because it was not me," I replied mockingly.

"I don't know how to order," he muttered. I raised an eyebrow at her, and it didn't affect her cuteness.

"I will pay so that you will order."

"I'll just pay your order."

Because of his awkwardness, I stared at him wickedly and with mixed threats. We fought backwards before he gave up following my wishes.

"Fine," he let out a deep sigh before standing. "I'll order."

He gets up and makes his way to the counter. He did not even ask what I wanted or desired to eat!.

But anyway, he's too old, he can take care of her own life.

The queue is quite long. For sure, he will be impatient. Rich kids like him are not used to eating fast food, so I brought him here. I wanted to annoy him, but in our case, I was the annoyed one.

I opened my phone and decided to message my friends, maybe because they are waiting for me. Whenever I was with him, I always forgot to let them know.

tatcorsanes: Hey, guys! Please don't wait for me; I'm already out of Campus.

ernishamanalo: Why?

tatcorsanes: Out for lunch with someone. I'm in debt, so I've got no choice.

jcassandrabassig: Won't you come to class this noon?

jcassandrabassig: If you don't come in, I won't come in either.

vettinahhh: Who's with you right now? And where are you guys so we can go there, too.

I glanced at Leo, who was now at the counter. I almost rolled my eyes because he even managed to flirt with the cashier.

ernishamanalo: Hmm. Sounds fishy.

jcassandrabassig: Was that Leo?

tatcorsanes: Yep! But we're just eating, and I was paying my debt.

vettinahhh: Ah! Do you expect us to believe you?

tatcorsanes: No one is forcing you to believe. Lol

I lifted my gaze to him as he put the food on the table. He ordered two supreme lasagnas, Hawaiian pizza, chicken & potato waves, and iced tea slush.

"Wow! You ordered too much food," I complained while hiding the cellphone.

"I'm sorry," he said and scratched his head. "I don't know what exactly you want."

"You didn't ask. Duh"

"Why didn't you just tell me?"

"Did you ask?" Okay. I'm sorry because I forgot," he apologized and defended himself. "I told you, I don't have much knowledge about this."

"But had a wide range of flirting styles?"

"Sorry?" he chuckled. "I think we should do something about your jealousy."

"Who's jealous?"

"You."

"I am not!" I hissed, but he keeps on grinning like an idiot.

I started to eat my lasagna. It tastes good; this is really the best lasagna for me. Greenwich is actually one of my favourite fast-food restaurants, in case sometimes, their service is prolonged. Unlike Jollibee and Mc Donald's, even though many customers are still fast service crew.

"You know," he started as he bites the pizza. "I think you need some Vitamin R."

"Vitamin R? Vitamin Rogelio, that is a make-up and an antidote for your mood swings."

He laughed as I covered his face, a table napkin. "What?" He laughed at this question and avoided my stoning.

"Because you're ugly. Can't we be friends?"

"I don't want to."

"Okay. Let's be friends."

He offered his hand, and I gladly accepted it. "Let's be friends for now," he almost whispered. It was weak but just right for me to hear.

I let out a deep sigh. Did I do it right? Is it right that I let him into my life?

I'm afraid of the thought that he might hurt me someday.
