Chapter 6

"What are you doing?"

I angrily removed the coil of his hand from my waist and stared at him wickedly. He's possessive, and I'm not too fond of it.

"Protecting you."

"Protecting me? Wow!" I almost rolled my eyes out of irritation. “That guy is my friend. He’s not a criminal.”

"He's obviously hitting on you!"

"So what if he is? Does it matter to you?"

Some varsities are already looking at us because our voices are getting a little louder. He was silent and obviously surprised by the sudden rise of my voice.

"We're just talking," I explained and tried to lower my voice. Alright. I felt sorry for raising a voice in public. It might humiliate him.

Wait, why am I explaining to him? He's not even my boyfriend, after all.

"He does not seem to be trustworthy," he concluded. Irritation started to rose into my system. How dare him, right?

I laughed out loud and rolled my eyes.

"And who looks trustworthy?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "You?"

His eyes never left mine. "Yes. You're right," he confirmed with a smile. "You can trust me, darling."

Leo slowly leaned forward, but I gently pushed him away. I turned my back on it and walked out.

I needed some fresh air. I can no longer understand him. He was very vague. It turns me off. Girls biggest turn off is inconsistency, acting like you care one day and then switch up the next.

"Hey, just wait." he stopped me and followed me out.

"What?!" I hissed again, trying not to raise my voice that much. "What's the matter?"

"Matter is anything that occupies space and has mass," he confidently answered.

He laughed when he saw the expression in my eyes, caused by his answer. Aren’t he aware of how sexy he was in that laugh?

"Leave me alone. I don't have time to fool around with you, Leo!"

"Who’s fooling you? Drop his name, and I will surely punch him straight in the face." His face became serious. "I'm just protecting you," he almost whispered.

"Are you mad, Tatiana? I'm sorry!"

"Since when?" I paused for a while. "Since when did you start to care?" I asked, ignoring what he said.

"Since the day you kissed me," he answered and breathed out in a soft voice.

I closed my eyes tightly because of his answer. He caught me off guard! I did not know that I would kiss him, and even more so, I did not know that we would meet again.

"I'll take you home," he added afterwards.

I was about to complain, but I did nothing because he pulled me into the parking lot.

"I could go home alone."

"I insist. You drunk a lot earlier,” he replied and opened the door for me. I did not go in first and stayed outside to talk to him.

"That’s stupidity--”

"Language, Tatiana. Whatever else you say, it's still alcohol."

"I know!" I could not stop raising my voice.

"I'll take you home," he offered again.

"Stop acting as you care!"

"I do," he answered.

"That’s bullshit!" I shouted as I slammed the door of his car. I did nothing but agree. He let out a deep sigh before starting the engine.

I am very grateful because he did not bother me anymore. I just focused my attention on the road while he is driving the car silently.

"Turn left when you get to the corner.” I pointed in the direction.

My eyes automatically widened when he turned his car in the wrong direction. He turned to the right instead of to the left.

"Hey! I told you to turn left," I hissed. "Don't you know where the right and left are? Where did you go to elementary school, huh?"

"I finished elementary at States," he answered calmly.

"You graduated abroad, but you do not know the difference between left and right?"

"Here's the way," he answered with a laugh.

"That's the old one," I insisted.

"There is also a way here."

"But we will get further away!"

"Exactly," he glanced at me for a moment before looking back at the road. "I want to stay a little bit longer with you. Can I?”

"Whatever!" I rolled my eyes again for the nth time. "I don't want to be with you or see you. I'm irritated with you, your face."

"What’s wrong with my face? Am I too handsome in your eyes?"

“No. You look like a--” I paused for a while and pretended to think of something.

“Like what?” he asked excitedly.

"Looks like a cheater!" I fired back.

He chuckled. I never looked at it again and ignored it.

I do not understand why most of the girls like him; he’s an annoying jerk.

"Stop the car over that pink gate," I said.

He stopped the car, and I immediately pushed the door. I went down immediately. I hate him, but I don't want to be rude, so I still thank him.

“You’re a jerk, but thanks for the ride.”

"Goodnight, Tatiana!"

I waited for it until one o'clock before slowly entering the house, without creating noise every time I stepped.

I feel like a thief in my own house. It’s all his fault!

"You've come home late. Who drove you home?"

I held my breath to face mother. Damn! I thought she’s sleeping already.

"Mom!" Shock can be seen on my face. "Uh, Vettinah's driver," I lied.

I greeted her goodnight before entering the room. I felt a series of vibrations on my phone, with texts and missed calls. It was from my girls. I opened my Instagram and decided to message them, which I forgot to do earlier.

They must be worried.

jcassandrabassig: Tatiana, where are you?

jcassandrabassig: Where did you go?

jcassandrabassig: TATIANA CARA CORSANES!

Damn! I just forgot to say goodbye to them. I was too carried away by Leo's argument with me.

tatcorsanes: I'm home, guys. Sorry!

I decided to turn off my phone. I don't want to assume things yet. I might be the only one hurt in the end. I let out a deep sigh as I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.
