Chapter 5 The Wolves

I woke up very early the following morning not ready to go to school late and my Mom make sure I take my everyday meds while I pick Alice up on the way as usual.

I was surprised when Andy came to apologize to me at school. I mean the almighty Andy saying sorry fear written all over his face but I noticed something his eyes which were green as at yesterday are now brown in color which makes me wonder if Andy changes his eye color daily.

"What is that on your hand ?" I asked Alice who was holding two story books in her hand as we made our way towards where my driver is waiting for us after school.

"It's a werewolf story and you gonna love it," she said smiling. "You can take this and read I am done reading it" she muttered giving me one of the books.

"No thanks, I don't read such" I mumble not interested to read it.

"No, you have to try it out. Aria, you will love it" she assured me.

"Those books are not real all the stories I heard about werewolves are just fictional," I said rolling my eyes.

"Hey, when You read this you will believe it and you can even fall in love with an alpha while reading this" she smiled at me.

"Forget it, Alice, I don't want it," I said as we both entered the car and the driver start the engine.

"If you are going to read this I promised to come to your house this weekend," she said giving me a cute eye she knew I always like her being around me.

"Okay fine you promise?" I asked her.

"Yes," she mumble giving me a cool smile as I collect one of the books from her.

My driver dropped Alice off at her house and he drive me home. immediately I entered the house I noticed that everywhere was silent which means my mum is not at home again.

I changed my clothes and took a cool bath and I changed into a simple long trousers with a long sleeve shirt then I entered the kitchen and dished myself some food before coming back to the sitting room to eat then my eyes caught the title of the werewolf story that Alice gave to me.

"His Mate" I read the title loud which caught my attention as I started flipping through the chapters at the same time eating my food after reading about five chapters from this book I already have an idea of what Alpha and mate is but I will never believe that this kind of creature exists a human transforming into a wolf but I believe what Alice said that it a very interesting book I won't deny that fact and I wish I can have a boyfriend just like the Alpha in this book a possessive, strong and caring man that we can spend the rest of our life together oh God what was I even thinking werewolves doesn't exist.

I was still engaged in my reading when suddenly the door went open revealing my mum as she walks inside with a smile on her face.

"Mum you are back" I rushed from where I was standing and hug her.

"How was school today?" She asked throwing me a smile.

"It was great mum"

"What's that on your hand?" She asked referring to the book I was reading her facial expression changing into a worried look.

"Mum Alice gave me to read, it is a werewolf story" I showed her the front cover of the book which has an image of a wolf and a pretty young girl.

"You are not going to read this," my mom said snatching the book away from me.

"What's that for, mom?" I asked perplexed at her reaction my mom always acts like this whenever she is afraid of something or when she felt something bad will happen.

"These stories are not real and as an aspiring doctor which you will soon become you don't need things that don't exist," she said throwing the book inside the trash but she remove it again when she noticed the expression on my face she knew I will come back and carry it.

"But mom the book is very interesting and it sounds real," I told my mom following her inside her room as she placed the book under her pillow.

"Hey, listen to me" my mom turn facing me and pointed a finger at me. "You are not permitted to read such books in my house Werewolf have their own life outside where they live and we have ours here and you should never bring anything related to them here in my house" she warned me for the first time I could see my mother looking fierce and angry for the first time she is denying me from having something I want.

I stare at her for a while not knowing what to say trying to understand why she is acting like this. "Okay" I mumble under my breath and walk out of her room as I run all the way to my room.

I slump on my bed as I lay on the bed and I curled myself to the side. Why should my mom be this angry just because I am reading a werewolf story or is there something to it that she is not telling me although I know my parents are hiding something from me with the way they whisper and speak to themselves most nights and I wasn't able to hear some of the things they said to themselves but I know there is something I didn't know about which I believe is for my own good.

I lay on the bed facing the ceiling with my eyes wide open as the little I have read in that werewolf book came playing in my head then I remember the names Mate, Alpha, Luna, Pack all those words I remember even if I don't know the full meaning it looks so real and familiar with me then I remember the dream I always had a male voice always calling on me although I can't see his face but he always calls me his Mate What are these things? no maybe I am overthinking everything it's just a fictional book and it has nothing to do with my dreams I thought as I drift into a strong slumber.

Sophia POV (Aria's Mother)

I walk inside the kitchen trying to make my breath stable as I poured myself a cup of water and I gulp it all once I poured another cup and drink it. I feel very sorry and sad for not allowing her to read that book. I am afraid it might bring something she doesn't need to know out.

I feel like a bad mother for keeping such a huge secret away from her I should have told her but it won't be good keeping this away from her is for her good. I know how sad she is for not allowing her to read the book of her choice but I have to do it I can't let her get addicted to such a story it can expose her chances of getting the truth is but I won't let it happen it is my duty to protect her and I am going to do that so long she continues taking her med I am sure everything will be fine I am sure she will be safe here without having to face a tough life with her people.

After Sophia was sure she is okay and her breath is now stable the feeling of guilt are no longer there she walk back to Aria's room

"Aria open the door let's talk," she said knocking at her door but there was no reply. She knock again but yet she didn't get a reply from her slowly she pushed the door open and she met her sleeping on her bed peacefully.

Sophia moved towards her and placed a hand on her head using her hand to caress her long hair.

"I am sorry Aria I am doing this for your own good" she mumbles and walks out of her room leaving her to take her rest as she uses her devout to cover her body.

*Aria POV*

I saw myself in another different world a place I can't understand a place I had never been before it was filled with tall trees, green grasses, and flowers but this pace don't seem beautiful and peaceful as it looks I was been chased by hefty and wild wolves they numerous they should be above 10.

I keep running trapping my feet on the green grass my heart racing heavily I was sweating profusely fear ran through my spine I can't let them meet me, I can't let them get me. I was still running when suddenly two wolves came running towards me I was thinking they are here to attack me but surprisingly they were helping me to fight the pack of wolves chasing me, and within some minutes they killed all the wolves as I remain on a spot watching the scene. After killing the wolves one of the wolves that saved me turn around to face me blood dripping down his mouth the blood of the wolves he just killed.

"If I can't have you then I am going to kill you and no one will have you not even your mate" he groaned running towards my direction at a quick speed.................
