"What a nice way to ruin the day jackass"

My older brother just smiled and threw stones at me.

I quickly caught you in the air without looking at him. I am preparing for the gathering later. I did not know that daddy had prepared a fake gathering for his fake daughter.

After being my real self I was able to remember most of my memories in the past.

I am not daddy's daughter.

But Mommy and him had a relationship.

I regained consciousness at the age of 4 and I do remember seeing us in the old house. Charlie himself is not my real brother. But he is, for me. Nothing will change in what I realized. From America when I returned I did not think there would be a gathering when I returned.

A show off maybe.

Everyone knows my departure from daddy's power, and after he won the election he's been doing all the good and fatherly things to make his name sounds better.

I returned home a week ago. I just have to go back to where I should. I can't live like an unpack werewolf and a hungry vampire. I have to live like a normal human being. And I was expecting a two-day sermon from charlie.

Daddy just told him to let me be because I'm old enough.

I wear a red velvet long gown. Its almost bare in the chest because of the V shape down to my abdomen, nothing. The old Cassandra loves black and using monochrome wardrobes. But there's the word old. So I no longer wear the same kind of clothes or colors. I grow mature in all aspects and I love it. Everyone does.

"I did not recognize you."

There was a dimness in Charlie's eyes.

"Something changed. What happened sister?"

Even though his lips did not say anything, I could hear his question in his mind.

"People grow. People die. People change Charlie. And something else is improving."

I regretted him and he just laughed. I looked at the little box he had thrown earlier.

"What is this?"

"A gift. You reminded me when you left without saying goodbye. Even .. you know we are not.siblings. I'm still happy you came back Cas. I love you. Its a welcome back gift."

His eyes and smile are gentle and sincere so I bit back the warmth growing beneath me. I'm a monster now. No touch of human. I should not be emotional. I slowly opened the box and exposed a small necklace with a small pendant. Its a full moon.

"I never saw you wearing what I gave you before. I replaced it with a new one."

My hands shake a little. I looked at him. He is not thinking now but I can sense it. He knew something.

"Thank you Charlie."

He slowly approached and put it on me. While I was watching him in the mirror I just knew maybe he was investigating my disappearance. He must know something. Or everything.

"You know." Its a statement. He just looked at me. And nodded.

"I knew this day would come. Let's go. The guests are already waiting. It's time to be hypocrites."

I laughed but I could not get my mind off what he said. So all along he knows I am different from him? Theirs?

"How?" I turned on him and abrisette with him and we walked up the stairs. I notice the red carpet from the pathway down the stairs.

"Mom told me. To take care of you because you're different. And I must always remind you that nevertheless you're still my baby sister and I love you and you will not do anything that would harm you and people around you. "

We stare at each other. It only broke when we heard loud applause from the bottom of the long staircase. There are many people wearing beautiful dresses and suits. Some are familiar faces but many are not.

"Ladies and Gentlemen the loving and gorgeous daughter of our one and only Governor Alfredo Novalez please around of applause to Cassandra Novalez!"

"What.the.hell?"

My older brother laughed softly as we went down the stairs.

"Smile sister. You wouldn't like to look like you're having a menopausal today."

"Stupid" I smiled but I'm not sure if it was pleasing to the eye.

Some shook hands and greeted me while we were at the foot of the stairs.

"Welcome back Cassy!"

Greeted some hypocritical relatives.

"I really hate faking around you know THAT right?"

I squeezed charlie's hand tightly. He just frowned and guided me to the other guests.

I felt daddy's presence in the back so I turned to him. He got his genuine and sincere smile.

"Welcome back. Cas"

"Dad ..."

we hugged. Longer and tighter than I expected. He practically raises me. Tho not his real daughter and not like a real daughter treatment I owe him where I am now.

"You don't have to do this Dad."

"Just felt the urge to do so. I thought I would never come back. No matter how cunning and headache you are. You are still my only daughter."

Daddy lifted the cup of wine he was holding.

"A cheer for my daughter!"

The guests lifted the wine holders before cheering loudly!

"Cheers! There you go! So welcome back Ms. Cassandra! The party is for you so here we go! To all the handsome gentlemen in this party you may now dance with Cassandra!" Lively language of the emcee.

"Ugh .."

Charlie just laughed as he guided me to the dance floor.

"Shall I be the 1st dance?"

"Have it your way."

We started dancing to the song of "A thousand years" music.

"you grew bigger and more mature both physically and mentally. What happened cassy? Let me understand the things Mom have told me before."

"Mom" is what she calls mommy.

All I know is, charlie met mommy when she and Daddy were dating. They had a plan together then and introduced me to my future brother but mommy suddenly disappeared.

"I became one of them." I could not look into his eyes. I just looked over his shoulder to the buffet table not far from us. I don't want to know what's on his mind so I quit reading it

"One of them .. who?"

I felt his grip tighten on my waist

"I cant ... no this is not the right time. I'll tell you soon"

I looked at him and patted his cheek. His face was still full of surprise when we suddenly heard a whisper.

"Shall I dance with the princess, Charlie?"

A hot guy in tuxedo interrupted us. Charlie just rolled an eye.

"Gavin .." Gavin's eyes were fix on mine.

"Cas this is Gavin Montenara his father is a close friend of daddy and he's my highschool mate."

"Hi"

"Hello there princess." He bow a little.

"Take care of my sister. Uh no .. you take care Gavin."

I slapped Charlie on the arm who just laughed and left us.

Many are already dancing on the dance floor and I just realized that Gavin and I are going together.

"I've seen you on some occasions Cassandra. But I haven't got the chance to meet you."

"I wasn't focused then because I can't see you. You're unfamiliar to me."

I don't have to be a hypocrite

"Yes of course. The Cassandra I heard of was an untamed and rebellious chic. You would probably not notice a scoundrel like me."

I look at him in the eye. He's just kidding but he's right. I do not tend to tease people I do not know.

"You're beautiful."

"So do you Gavin. Thank You"

I can sense his growing attraction. I felt his hand fall lower than my waist. I'm too focus on pacing with him with the dance and I didn't notice his presence.

"Go lower and I'll break your fingers into bits."

Vander

"Isn't it the famous young CEO Vander Laurent?"

There was sarcasm in Gavin's voice. We stopped dancing because of Vander's appearance. He's wearing a gray tuxedo and his presence is domineering. All attentions were drawn towards him. Her long hair was now a new shape that made her look a few years younger.

That handsome face is demanding for attention, who would have thought. I was one of the women who fell for this bastard. And I can't even believe I use the word "was" and before in describing my feelings for him. Could it be, I've really turned to cold blooded being?

I can't take my eyes off him. He's looking at Gavin with intense eyes like a mad dog.

"I heard you'll be handling the marketing department of your company soon Cassandra? Then you should know this famous and young CEO here" he smirk

I remember that. My father wants me to learn handling the company. Because Charlie is unreliable because of his service I was assigned by daddy to be his right hand in managing our businesses. And he wants me to start working soon! I will not deny that because it could be my passport to live half a normal life regardless of what I am now.

Just that I did not know that Vander was one of the CEOs. That fast huh?

"I said put that filthy hands away from her."

Gavin laugh insulting.

"And what right do you have to say those things?"

He snake his hand in my waist even more.

Vander's eyes met mine. As if telling me things.

I can sense his growing irritation. I can smell his anger. He can't make a scene right now!

I was the one who released Gavin.

"Because, Vander is my boyfriend."

I smiled sweetly at Gavin. I dont like him either, might as well use the opportunity to get rid of hypocrite and egoist like him.

I felt vander's body become rigid.

"Thanks for the dance Gavin. Its my man's turn now."

I grabbed Vander's arm and pulled him into the middle of the dance floor.

He's eyeing me thoroughly.

"What did you say?"

"Shut up!" I hissed.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and brought the body close to my body.

"What are you doing here and try making a mess?"

I threw a bad look at him. He just kept looking at me tenderly and seemed to be talking.

"You grew prettier."

He comb his fingers on my now longer brunette hair.

"Your physique change after that night"

His voice went down and page after page. Like he's fighting turmoil deep him.

"Correction. Everything about me change."

I met his eyes. We still accompany the music but I can feel the growing intensity with our stares and body contact that any near ice would melt.

"Not really. You're still you." He stroked my waist. I suppress the urge to walk out because at first I will be embarrassed especially when I feel that Vander and I are the attention of everyone now, and lastly this could be my chance to face my past with him.

"I could strangle you to death you know that?"

A deep baritone chuckle came out of him. I was even surprised when he rested his head on my shoulder.

"I miss you ..."

I felt my body rigid. I did not expect him to say that. If my memories are right, he is the one who drives me away. And it was him who broke the bond.

"Stop the pretenses Vander. You can act like a bastard jerk you used to act before me noon. Why the sudden change? Was there another dipshit prediction? Was it said that I was a threat to your kind?"

He stares at me deeply. Amused and hurt.

"I'm not stupid Vander. I've traveled half the world to know who really I am ... I'm a threat to both your kind and the blood suckers. But you dont need to do these acts to prevent me from doing anything because I'm not interested. "

He stopped dancing so I stopped too

I traveled from deep forest and mountains of maldives to arizona, I also went to romania and saroah where wolves and vampires are believed to have originated. I have to be careful because I have a strong feeling and thanks to crucio for letting me know some of the things I should know. Not all vampires are kind to each other. "You ask too much .. but I'll tell you anyway. There's one actually. I dont know if he's still alive. Or she? Augustus brought his blood sucker wife outside romania after the king of vampire declared a bloodbath. If the child still alive he's probably in the small island of philippines right now. But I doubt it. He or she's probably dead by now. The king wont let the child live. "

I could feel her every word. He spoke so hard and deep that he emphasized every word. I can see both annoyance and ache in his eyes no. I can sense it. I can hear his blood flow running faster. He's mad. He's fucking mad at me.

I suddenly remembered those moments when I felt so calm every time he lost control. I'm tempted to do it but I stop myself. I should keep in mind that I have no role in his life.

"Are you even listening?"

Suddenly his voice calmed down.

We looked at daddy who was approaching us with some of the board members of our company with his wife.

"Oh I see! So you FINALLY met each other! So you won't have a hard time working together then?"

Daddy laughed. Other people smile.

Working what ??

Vander's looking at me intently.

"I told you to work soon. Vander is now the newest trusted young CEO of our company Cassandra, because you know I am getting old already and Charlie can not help me. He came from Mistletoe and has been working with us for months now. He's perfect! He will replace the position that would have been reserved for Charlie. You will be working with him soon. Work your way up daughter. "

He hold his wine up. Everyone around us followed him

I eyed Vander sharply.

"I told you. I won't let you runaway this time."
