Chapter Four: Marry Me

[Zima Air]

Yvonne was on her seat, settling some files when Kristen barged in.

"Helloooo, my daring cold bestie" Kristen said as she flipped her bag on the couch while the latter looked at her coldly.

"Heyyyy stop giving me that look is that the best way to greet your bestie after being apart for how many years "Kristen questioned

"Years or just a month, "Yvonne said 

"Whatever," She said rolling her eyes

"I've got a hot gist for you," Kristen said but Yvonne wasn't listening, focusing on her work.

"Well, I am going to say this whether you hear it or not. Reece is back,  yipee!!"Kristen squeaked as she jumped, Yvonne stopped what she was doing and looked at her pathetic best friend.

"I know right? it is unbelievable" Kristen added

"Is that why you came back to America?"

"Nah, I actually came for another reason, I was missing home so I decided to come back" Kristen stated

"Now that you are back make yourself useful to me and your family, "

"Why must you be harsh, at least give me preferential treatment" Kristen sulked as she looked at Yvonne with a puppy face,

"No "Yvonne snapped

"You are too bad, "Kristen pulled a long face as Yvonne wanted to reply a knock interrupted her speech, and Phoebe came in with a bouquet.

"These are for you ma'am," Phoebe said as she dropped them on the table

"Throw them away" Yvonne ordered, Kristen's mouth was agape and Phoebe's reaction was the same like it was a normal routine.

"What? Yvonne, how could you do this? This is wrong, bring it Phoebe I will keep it "Kristen said as she took the flowers from Phoebe.

"How could you reject a gift from someone who is trying hard to please you, "Kristen asked as she shook her head, feeling sad for the poor guy sending flowers to her bestie. She inhaled the scent of the flowers and she smiled.

"It's simple, I am not interested," Yvonne replied indignantly as she continued her work, but she was not able to concentrate, she was thinking about the person who sends this flowers to her, who the heck was sending her those flowers? Maybe she could give the person a chance.

"The flowers are nice, I am keeping them, "Phoebe said.

All of a sudden Yvonne stood up and went outside leaving Kristen dumbfounded. She went to her car park. She noticed something, I mean someone familiar, the next he was no longer there again, like the person was long gone as if he was never there in the first place.

   The car was brought to a halt suddenly by the driver, making a screeching noise causing Yvonne to move forward, almost hitting her head on the driver's seat.

"What the f*ck just happened, are you trying to get me killed, " she asked the driver rudely.

"Sorry ma'am, but our car was hit by a careless driver, I will go check the damage," the driver answered as he went out.

Yvonne sat in the car waiting for the results.

"Ma'am, it has minor damage "The driver reported as Yvonne got down to check the so-called minor damage.

"What! You called this a minor damage, this car is worth billions of dollars" She yelled at the driver with a horrific look, Yvonne might act crazy at times, but yeah that's because she is.

"It was not his fault, but mine,'' a guy tried to defend the old driver, Yvonne looked at him.

'Reece'

"Yvonne " Reece called,  he still looked the same as ever the only difference was that he just became more manly and built up, also he trashed his hair, making him look sadistic. [Author: like srsly, he looks cute with that hairstyle]

"Buy me a new one, you know where to send it to" She ordered and hopped into her car.

"Let's go, " Yvonne said to the driver and he started driving.

[Few Minutes Later...]

"Ma'am the guy we saw earlier is trailing us " the driver reported as Yvonne looked back.

"Pass another route to the hospital," She said and he took a U-turn. Yvonne entered her mom's ward, just to see her dad feeding her mom.

"Hi mom, dad" She greeted.

"How are you my beautiful cold daughter," her mom said

"Normal as always"  Responded Yvonne as she sat at the edge of the bed.

The door of her mom's ward opened.

"Good afternoon everyone, "Reece said as he entered inside.

` I thought we lost him`

"Yvonne " He called, standing up she dragged him outside.

"What are you doing here? "

"I came to give you your locket," he answered

"My locket? " She said trying to recollect the locket he was talking about as she touched her neck she realized that it was the necklace Kristen gave her on her 21st birthday.

It was not there.

"You could come give me in my office why bother coming here, "

"Would you allow me to come in talk less of speaking with you "? He stated, but she ignored the question and tried to snatch the necklace from him, he raised his hands up.

"Give the goddamn necklace to me " She sassed sternly

"Is that the right thing to say to someone who helped you," He asked

"Right now " She bawled. 

"Ok fine, fine, if you are ready to collect this locket then you can call me, this is my card ", He said and dropped the card in her stretched palm then walked away, leaving the furious Yvonne to fume in anger.

` How dare he try to negotiate with me? Who the hell does he think he is?`

"Who is that gentle young man, " Elizabeth asked bringing Yvonne out of her deadly thought.

`gentle young man my foot`

"He is nobody"

"Really? Perhaps he is the one sending the flowers" mom said and she thought about it, `could he be the one sending it? Hell no he just came back yesterday`.

"What flowers?" Asked Yvonne's dad

"No, he is not the one. C'mon, mom stop talking about him and get enough rest " she said covering her mom's body with the bedsheets.

"That is what I have been doing ever since I got here", mom said triggering Yvonne to smile bitterly, for once she had forgotten they were at the hospital.

"....." Yvonne's dad

"It's ok momma" She reassured

"I would love to see him again. Could you tell him to come to visit whenever he is less busy "Mom said.

"Mommmm" She nagged

"Don't be afraid, I won't say anything you won't like, I promise not to talk about the marriage"Mom cooed, Yvonne's dad was lost because he could not understand what those two were talking about so he had to play the invisible.

"Fine"

"At least smile," her mom said and she did.

"That's better" She added.

`All I need to do right now is to collect that locket from him and teach him a very good lesson, gosh he is so dead right now cause I will make sure I deal with him seriously for playing with me`.

[Hockey Rink]

Meanwhile, at the hockey rink, Reece was in a dilemma and was torn between his mind and thoughts at the moment.

' Is she still going to come`

'of course, she is still going to come`

`no, she is not, you have been here for 2 hours and she has not come`

'she is going to come`

` I know she is not, just leave this place and go home you have tried enough`

As he was still contemplating on what to do next, the door opened, she was on skaters moving closer to him, gosh his heartbeats faster than he could ever imagine, he never knew she would look so daring in a hockey jersey, she was not wearing a helmet and her curly hair looked so damn attractive, she was just holding a stick with no ball while Reece was still in his other world did not even know that she was already in front of him when her words brought him back to reality.

"My locket "

"You came late and so will you receive the locket LATE " He teased earning a hit from her, she hit him with the stick in full force.

F*ck that was painful, he held his arms as he looked at the floor.

`Shit` he cursed mentally.

"Do you think I would let you go scot-free after that rubbish you displayed at the hospital, for the last time my locket? " She said in a commanding tone. This time he did not bulge, she tried to hit him again with the stick, luckily he dodged it causing her to lose balance, afraid that she might get hurt, he held the stick dragging it towards himself making him lose balance, falling on the ground with her on top of his body, their position was quite awkward for people that were arguing or here for hockey, but he loved it anyway, if not for the crazy buggy jersey it would look less awkward, He stared into her eyes deeply, those icy blue eyes were so beautiful and intrepid, this was the first time they were being so close, the only time he had to touch her was when he confessed his feelings for her and he suffered gravely for it.

'and you are supposed to keep your hands away, also stay away from her, but, no you won't listen just doing anything you like, just one time you saw her after a long one you decided to chase her AGAIN, aren't your you tired, {rolled eyes internally}, tch I'm so tired of you' his subconscious said, still Reece did not listen, all his body, soul and mind was focused on her.

Struggling to get up, Reece pinned her down making them switch positions, he was on top of her, and her eyes bulged out simply because she did not expect it from him, she never imagined him to become this bold, but then her eyes were lost in his, her expression became quite unclear and a word was heard from one of them.
