Chapter Five: My mother-in-law acknowledges me heheheh

   "Marry me, " Reece proposed, her eyes widened in disbelief she was shocked like she literally didn't expect him to say that all of a sudden and so did Reece. After those words roll out of his mouth he slapped his head internally, meant to take things slow... boy, so fast. She pushed him away from her and sat upright. He knew she was going to say something that would be bad for him so he decided to sort things out amicably.

"Look_"

"Will get back to you later "Saying this she left the rink and he was now the one with the awestruck articulation.

"What does she mean by, she will get to me later? Is she putting me into consideration? "He said aloud.

 ' She did not even take the locket from me, she just left hurriedly`.

Wow, that's nice because he would use that opportunity to talk to her.

[Some days later..]

"Let's meet up," She said, staring at his phone to be sure if she was the one, he actually thought she would not call but she did, this was unexpected.

"Are you still there?" she asked

"Y-y-yes I am, " he stuttered

"I would send you the location, meet me there, RIGHT NOW, " she said with her bossy attitude and hung up.

'Wait, that was it, she was willing to see me without a fight, or has she considered my words or she is planning something really BAD!` he thought.

`Well if I don't go, how will I know` another subconscious said, he had made up his mind to go, he won't waste such a beautiful opportunity, he quickly rushed to the bathroom, had his bath, and spent hours dressing because he needed to look appealing in her eyes.

After how many hours of dressing up, Reece got out of the house, entered his car, and drove off to the location, you can't keep a girl waiting. The location was a garden park. A few people always come here for a picnic, he wondered why she choose this kind of location since she's the kind of secluded person.

`Well maybe she choose this place because she considered your emotions` his subconscious said

`Tch, don't you think you are feeling yourself too much` another subconscious said

Yh, that's the best place she would want them to meet instead of a cafe. He knows she hates the smell of cafes, it irks her.

  He thought he was a little bit early guess what? He was wrong, she was already there waiting for him graciously, shit, his first impression was bad, he needed to work on it.

`Your first expressions are always bad Reece` he remembered his brothers' voice, that's actually what he would say if he was here.

"Hi, " he greeted making her know of his arrival

"The locket," She demanded, going straight to the point.

Oh, he should have known better, Yvonne can't just call him out of the blue to meet him, it was because of the goddamn locket, he brought the locket with him Incase she gets fed up he could use it to buy time, and make her stay with him a little longer, guess he indeed felt too high of himself.

`Cocky attitude`

"Chill I am going to give it to you, but after our date, " he mused with a smile

"What date? "She asked.

`She definitely did not take this as a date, really Reece, stop talking it's getting awkward` he said to himself

"This one, the view is very nice so we could have a date here and right now " He riposte

"I can see that you are still dumb, can't you see I am a very busy person and yet you are wasting my time "She berated, she was impatient, but he had to do something to make her wait

"I am sorry I just-I-did I--" He tried to speak but she interrupted him

"Just shut up and give it to me, "She said as he brought out the locket to give to her sadly and she snatched it from his hand.

"Look can we just schedule a day so we could talk" Reece suggested

"Talk about what, "She said and he went silent

"You don't need to be that harsh to me " He muttered 

"What you said you would put into consideration "Reece added 

"My mom wants to meet you, reschedule yourself, and go meet her when you are free, oh! I forgot you are always jobless so you are free "She mocked and left, he was sad at first but then he felt happy.

Happy that her mom wanted to see him and sad that she doesn't even want to talk to him.

[The hospital]

"Good afternoon ma'am" Reece greeted as he dropped the bouquet he bought at a nearby shop.

"Good afternoon–"She paused trying to recollect his name.

"Reece, "

"Recce, that is a beautiful name for a handsome man like you" she praised and he laughed, this is the second time he is seeing her mom and the first time he is talking to her and yes he could see that there is a huge difference between Yvonne and her mom.

"Thanks, ma I feel honored,"

"Stop the  formalities you can call me aunt, "She chuckled 

"Ok aunt, here, I brought some flowers for you," he said pointing at the flowers.

"Thanks for the flowers I appreciate it, "

"They are fresh and the fragrance is good," he tried to bring up a topic. 

" Oh! I could see that sweetie, you are so nice. Could you help me put the pillow up? I want to sit upright," she asked as she tried to stand up, Reece helped her with the pillow and also let her rest very well on it so she would be comfortable.

"Thanks, "She said, and then her expression changed when she looked at him. Feeling the heavy atmosphere, he tried to smile.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do I look that pathetic," She questioned

"No aunt, no, that's not it, I was just thinking about something else like you are a lot different from what I expected, " he replied instantly

`he may be mistaken about the attitude, clearly, she got the intimidating aura from her lively mom, he bet she was even more fierce than Yvonne, it's just that her mom is the friendly type`

"Oh! [she laughed] well yeah, people think she's like me because of the way she (Yvonne) behaves, actually she took my mother's behavior" she replied and Reece's mouth was shaped with `O`.

   "So what is your relationship with her, "She asked

"Right now we are just friends," he replied, he, himself doesn't know his relationship with her so he had to say a white lie, she never talks to him, only he takes the initiative, so he guess she is just the girl he likes.

"And then what happens later," she asked

"I don't know aunt" he answered truthfully

"Whatever your decision is, just know that I will always support you, "She said, giving him a sweet smile. He was imagining how Yvonne would be if she was as sweet as her mom.

Oh! That would not look like her and he would definitely not like her in that way, maybe.

`I am not sure I would like the sweet Yvonne.`

But wait...

Did she just give him a go-ahead?

`Really? Or am I the one just thinking things like that? No, no, that can't be it, she surely said that,  now that her mom said so, my morale had already boosted up to 75%, now there is really nothing that can stop me well except for her (Yvonne), she should just at least say yes to my proposal and then it's done, finished`

[Zima Air]

"Phoebe " Yvonne called and then her assistant stopped

"Do you know who has been sending those flowers to me?" She asked, Phoebe looked at Yvonne with an appalled expression, but then it changed back to normal.

"No ma'am, the security man is the one that brings the flowers to me " she replied 

"Alright, you can leave, " Yvonne said and she left with a questioning look.

"Oh God what should I do, "Yvonne said out loud

"Do what?" Kristen asked as she entered

"None of your business, "

"Alright if you say so, but gurlll I'm famished" she whined but Yvonne did not answer, She was thinking of what she would do now.

`she wants me to get married, but how will I do that when I have no one and this Kristen of a girl is just stressing the life out of me, she always wants my attention which I am not going to give her`.

"C'mon girl stop dulling yourself and let's go have fun, " Kristen said dancing.

"No, I won't,"

"Pls just this once, don't be a sucker"She begged but Yvonne didn't listen.

"Please I promise not to bother you anymore," Kristen tried to persuade but Yvonne did not bulge, she knew Kristen would still come to bother her, so why listen to her?

"You won't even know whether you will see a guy you would like there, it won't hurt to go out with me, " Kristen added with crazy ideas.

"I don't lock myself up, I always go to the clubhouse, " She retorted

"Yh, yh, you go there alone, sit there alone and that's not fun, "Kristen shrugged

 "Fine, I would go, but on one condition and that is you will do as I say " Yvonne stated and Kristen agreed immediately. A message popped up on Yvonne's phone.

It was from Reece...

"Guess our plan would have to change, I am meeting someone this evening, so see you later, " Yvonne said and went out.
