Alpha Nelson Divine strode into his office with the powerful air of a man who commanded both respect and fear. His sharp eyes surveyed the room before landing on Nathan, his most trusted aide.

“Nathan, go find out if Gerald was able to drop my wife off at her place of work,” Nelson said coolly as he sank into his chair.

“Okay, boss.” Nathan nodded and left the office.

As soon as Nathan was gone, a voice echoed in Nelson’s mind.

“Do you love her?” Nelson’s wolf asked.

“Of course not,” Nelson muttered, brushing the question aside. “Have you forgotten? She’s not our mate.”

“Are you sure you don’t love her? I don’t want any problems when our mate finally shows up.”

“There will be no problem,” Nelson replied firmly. “Our marriage is a contract—nothing more. Two years, eleven months, three weeks, and six days from now, it’ll be over.”

“Alright, if you say so,” his wolf said reluctantly. “I’ve always respected your decisions, but I’ll hold you to this.”

“You don’t have a choice,” Nelson smirked. “You’re stuck with me.”

Just then, Nathan re-entered the office.

“Alpha,” Nathan reported, “Gerald confirmed he dropped Mrs. Divine at her workplace.”

“Good.” Nelson nodded, leaning back in his chair. Before he could say more, his phone rang.

“Nathan, who is it?”

“Your father, Alpha,” Nathan replied. “Should I answer it?”

“If you don’t pick up, he’ll keep calling. Go ahead.”

Nathan accepted the call and handed the phone to Nelson.

“Mr. Divine,” Nelson greeted coolly.

“How are you, son?” his father’s voice boomed from the line.

“Is that why you called, Mr. Divine?” Nelson retorted.

“Still so sharp-tongued,” his father chuckled. “When will you bring your fiancée home? Your mother and I want to meet her.”

“When it’s time, I’ll bring her. And she’s not my fiancée—she’s my wife.”

“Your wife?” his father repeated in shock.

“Yes. I’ll bring her to meet you both when I decide,” Nelson said curtly before hanging up.

“Nathan!” Nelson called out.

Nathan stepped back inside promptly. “Yes, Alpha?”

“Do I have any important meetings today?” Nelson asked.

“Not much, boss. You have a meeting with the Marketing department later and another with Victoria Clothing regarding their textile shipment.”

“Cancel the Marketing department meeting. Move it to tomorrow. As for Victoria Clothing, call them and see if we can finalize everything over Zoom now.”

“Yes, Alpha.” Nathan picked up the phone and made the necessary arrangements.

“They’ve agreed to a Zoom call,” Nathan confirmed a moment later.

Nelson started the meeting, his focus sharp. Forty-five minutes later, the deal was finalized, and the video call ended.

“Alpha, do you have anything else planned for today?” Nathan asked.

“Yes.” A rare smile crept onto Nelson’s face. “My wife invited me for an exclusive interview at her workplace.”

Nathan raised an eyebrow. “An interview?”

“Yes,” Nelson said, glancing at his watch. “What’s the time?”

“8:15, Alpha.”

“Perfect. Let’s go. I don’t want to be late.”

By 8:30 AM, a sleek white Lamborghini rolled smoothly out of the Divine Corporation parking lounge. Steve, Nelson’s driver, sat at the wheel while Nathan rode shotgun. Nelson, seated in the back, was calm but expectant.

At Grace’s workplace, Victor was still trying to stir trouble.

“Do you actually think Grace was telling the truth when she said Alpha Nelson Divine would come for this interview?” Victor sneered at Cindy.

Cindy laughed coldly. “Please. Alpha Nelson? Here? Her poor ex-boyfriend couldn’t be more delusional.”

“My father has tried everything to invite Nelson Divine to public events, and he’s never come—not even to the annual Business Awards. You really think a nobody like Grace could get him to show up?”

“Exactly,” Victor smirked. “She’s probably lying to look important. Besides, didn’t we hear they had a nightstand two days ago?”

Cindy’s face darkened. “Victor, stop bringing her up, or do you want to run back to her?”

“I’m sorry, babe,” Victor said quickly, leaning in to kiss her.

Kiana, who had been watching the exchange, turned to Grace.

“Honestly, Grace, you’re a lot stronger than I’d be. If I were in your shoes, I’d throw boiling water on both of them.”

Grace chuckled lightly, shaking her head. “Only foolish people act like that. I refuse to stoop to their level.”

By 8:55 AM, the newsroom buzzed with tension. Mr. Mason emerged from his office, pacing impatiently.

“Grace, are you sure Mr. Divine is coming?” he asked, his voice laced with doubt.

“I told you, sir, he’ll be here,” Grace replied calmly.

Cindy let out a loud, mocking laugh. “It’s five minutes to nine, and still no sign of him. Admit it already—you lied.”

“Have some dignity,” Victor added, looking at Grace as if she were dirt. “Why would someone like Alpha Nelson Divine come for this?”

“And who said she was lying?”

The voice, smooth and commanding, echoed through the room, silencing everyone. Heads turned sharply toward the entrance.

Standing there, with an air of absolute authority, was Alpha Nelson Divine himself.

Mr. Mason’s eyes widened, his mouth falling open. “A-Alpha Nelson Divine?”

The entire room froze in shock as Nelson strode inside, his piercing gaze sweeping over everyone before settling on Grace.

“Good morning, Mrs. Divine,” Nelson said, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

Grace met his gaze with quiet confidence. “Good morning, Alpha Nelson. You’re right on time.”

Victor and Cindy gawked, utterly speechless, as Nelson Divine—the Alpha Nelson Divine—stood there, larger than life.
