Chapter 1

RILEY’S POV

I closed my eyes briefly and then opened them again, staring at the crowd before me. Keen and curious eyes were all on me, with more than a thousand faces eager to see me dance.

"Riley, the most beautiful and talented ballerina, is here before us," the MC announced with the microphone from the stage to the audience. My head was bowed low as I stood on my toes.

All my life, dancing was the only thing I had. To my pack, I’m just a werewolf without a wolf. Yes, that’s me. My father is the Alpha of the Dark Moon pack. I was supposed to meet my wolf when I turned 18, but unfortunately, I didn’t. So, I was considered the only werewolf without a wolf.

I was laughed at and humiliated. I could see the disappointment in my parents' faces every time they looked at me.

I knew I wasn’t going to meet my mate since I didn’t have a wolf. I felt like a burden to my parents, so I ran away from home. I came to the human world to start fresh, and I have been doing great.

I became a ballerina, and people love me. So, I decided to forget my life as a werewolf and focus on being human.

"Riley, can you show us what you've got with those legs of yours?" the MC said, bringing me back from my thoughts. I looked at the crowd.

They all gasped, and I smiled. I wriggled my hands, listening to the music that began to play softly. The room became calm, and the spotlight was on me as I danced.

I stopped dancing immediately when the song finished. A standing ovation erupted, with everyone clapping for me. I was proud—so proud of my legs, my hands, and my face. To me, this was better than being a werewolf.

I smiled at them, blew kisses, and then exited the stage.

"You did so great today, Riley," Sarah complimented when I came into the dressing room to change my dress.

"Thanks, Sarah," I replied, and she smirked.

"It's okay. I'm off to the stage too. Won't you wish me luck?" she said teasingly as she turned to go. I smiled before replying, "Good luck."

"Thanks, Riley," she said.

"Okay," I replied and then began to change into a simpler dress so I could go to my classes in the afternoon. I prepared myself, hung my bag low across my shoulder, and then left the room.

As I stepped out of the building, cameramen surrounded me immediately. "Please, Riley, tell us about your leg skills. Everyone is dying to know more about your magic legs, Miss..."

My bodyguards shielded me from them, guiding me into my car. "Allow her to speak to us, please! C'mon, let her talk!"

I smiled and waved as cameras flashed in my face. I didn't stop until I was safely inside the car. Once inside, I stopped smiling. Soon, my chauffeur started driving while my fans and the interviewers clustered around the car. I started smiling at them again.

The car moved slowly until it got out from the clusters of people. It then zoomed off onto the road. The car radio started talking:

"Riley is definitely going to win the competition. She deserves the World’s Best Ballerina Dancer title because of her magic legs."

I beamed a bit. Oh yes, I deserve it. There's no one to compare to me. I was born that way.

Wanna know me?

I'm Riley Cartledin. I'm a werewolf. Yeah, I left my world and came to the human world to start a new life.

I hope my family is having a good life without me because I am really having a fun life without them.

When I came to the human world, I needed something to do to forget about my boring life in my father’s pack. I enrolled in a ballet school with the help of my friend. I started like that. With a charming face, an attractive smile, and my magic long legs, I can command a whole crowd of guys to fall at my feet. Not only that, and I'm not being boastful, my ballet dances made young ones so jealous. They wanted to be like me, but they won't ever know the magic in my legs. And they won't ever know. The only thing I think I'm lacking in my life, and my fans are curious to know about, is if I have a boyfriend. But hell no!

I don't have one. I was supposed to meet my mate, but I don’t have a wolf, so no hope for that. I don’t have any human boyfriend, and I'm not planning to have one either. I'm just so simple, and I don't think any guy will be charming enough to attract my attention. Enough about me!

I don't want to tell you guys too much about me. I'm competing for the best ballerina dancer in the whole world, and I'm sure I'm going to win. I never even cared once to go for practice because I know I will surely win!

I'm talented because my legs are magic, my hands are like strings, and my face captures the audience's attention!

I'm so special! Really too special to be just a werewolf, and I think that's why the moon goddess didn’t give me a wolf. Well... Sounds strange to you that I said that? I guess the synopsis didn't tell you that I'm weird?

I'm weird! Nasty! I can be cruel and pompous because I feel no one is up to my level. I hardly made friends in school because I'm saucy when I see ugly girls! They deserve to die for having faces like monkeys. I'm sorry I'm like that, but that's just me!

"Miss," I softly heard my chauffeur beckoning to me.

"Yes?"

"We are in school now."

"Okay, stop the car now. I need to get out." He stopped the car, and I took out my pair of sunglasses from my bag and then wore them before getting out of the car with the help of my bodyguard, who had been following me from behind in another car. All eyes were on me.

I smirked. It has always been like this.

They see me, and they go crazy and wild because I'm a well-known crazy dancer of the whole world!

Murmurs filled the air, and my pride and ego swelled up as I catwalked my long legs into the class. Eyes were on my face, legs, hands, and tiny waist, which wriggled each time I danced. My butt, which was small but a killer, danced after them...

Oh my gosh! I can't believe anyone can just go crazy by looking at me.

"Miss, this way. Fans are so clustered the other side," my bodyguard said, guiding me another way.

"Okay, thanks," I beamed, following him down another path while people murmured behind us.

"See those legs."

"Can you see the way she walks?"

"Those magic hands too!"

"Oh my damn!"

"She's so beautiful!"

"I can't believe she goes to school with us," I smirked, hearing their whispers behind me. I cleared my throat, making them go wild again since everything about me seemed to drive them crazy.

"Jeez!"

"Damn!"

"She's really Riley!"

"I wish she would dance for us."

"Who knows?"

That caught my attention. I turned to face them swiftly, and they halted, clicking their phones towards my face.

"You mean I should dance for you guys?" I asked, and they froze, hearing my voice.

"One of you should play me a very soft song that I can really dance to." Their eyes locked onto mine, and I smiled, posing for their cameras as they snapped away. It's so nice to be special; everyone wants a piece of you. It's better than being a werewolf.

A song started playing softly, and I began to take off my shoes. As soon as the music started, I danced, standing on my toes with my face lifted high. My hands moved flexibly before relaxing, following the rhythm of the lyrics and the swift, magical movements of my legs. I danced and danced until someone bumped into me.

I was about to fall, but he helped me stay upright. He was a guy and on a phone call.

"I'm so sorry, I was in a hurry," he apologized, and I scoffed.

"Huh! What if you broke my leg? What if you injured me? Huh! Hey, Mr. Man, do you know who you just touched?" I raged, stopping my dance. I was furious. Who did he think he was to even touch me?

"I'm really sorry, I have an important project with my prof..." My eyes traveled to his hands, and I noticed he was carrying a guitar.

"Prof, my foot!" I raged, accidentally knocking the guitar from his hand. It landed on his foot.

"Ouch!" he screamed, hopping around, limping on one leg since the other was hurting. Everyone gasped.

I didn't care. "Suit yourself! Next time, don't bump into me like that! What if it were me who got hurt like this? I would be ruined! Rubbish!" I nagged, walking off again while my bodyguards and students trailed after me.
