5. So stressed out for him

Lyn's POV

When I finally said good night to Abel,  I felt like a child who had just received a nice gift. I was so happy and looking forward to seeing him the next day. I lay down and slept off with a smile on my face. On waking up the next morning, I still had a smile on my face. I went about my day with the hope of seeing that handsome man who kept hovering around my thoughts.

I was almost through with what I was doing when one of the members of Little Angel Academy sprained her ankle during acrobatics practice. The little girl was scared and kept crying as they wanted to take her to the hospital. However, she calmed down a bit when I started talking to her. She happened to trust me more and pleaded that I stay with her for the treatment until her parents came around.

So I followed her to the hospital and stayed with her for the treatment. All I hoped was that her parents would come sooner. Unfortunately, they didn't show up and it was almost time I agreed to meet up with Abel. I decided to give him a call and explain that I would be late but realized that I didn't come with my phone.

    "Oh shit". I hissed.

The phone was inside my bag and I turned it to a silent mood which is what I normally do to avoid distractions. I became a bit uncomfortable about what to do. I couldn't leave the poor girl who was still worried about her sprained ankle alone. She kept pleading that I shouldn't leave her alone and she wouldn't let a nurse stay with her either. I had no choice but to stay and wait patiently. By the time her mother came around, it was almost six in the evening. I needed to hurry to the Academy for my bag.

On coming out I realized that I didn't come with any cash on me because we came in the school vehicle and the driver had gone back. In anger, I blasted.

"Shit, shit",  and kicked my leg in the air as if it was going to fix my problem.

The school was a bit far to trek to from the hospital. So I had to beg a taxi driver that he would get paid but would be delayed a bit so I could go to the locker room upstairs to get my wallet to pay him.

The first two drivers I talked to refused to wait but the third one agreed. Luckily on dropping, I saw one of the girl's tutors at the gate and he paid the fare for me.

The Academy had been deserted because we normally closed by six in the evening except on special occasions. I ran into the compound and straight into the building. I went to the training hall but my bag was not there. I turned and took the stairs in two to the locker room upstairs. All I needed to do was to pick up my phone which was inside my bag.

On getting to my locker,  my bag was not inside.

"Oh no no no… ", escaped my mouth. I guess Benita or Teddy had either gone home with it or kept it in her locker. So I became tired and confused about what to do next. I felt so bad that he might be feeling bad. If I had my phone at least, I would have explained why I didn't make it to the cafeteria. I wished so much to see him again. I was looking forward to our meeting but somehow it didn't work out. It was almost seven and I was not sure who among my friends was with my bag.

Teddy's house was left while Benny's was right. I didn't know who took it since two of them were around when I left. I borrowed some money from the security at the school for the transport fare. Then I decided to go to Teddy's first.

Unfortunately,  he was not home. I waited until quarter to eight and he wasn't returning so I left for Benny's.

On arriving at her place, she immediately knew that I was bothered. She asked if the girl was alright. I explained that she had been treated and would heal soon. She asked if it was why I looked worried that it shouldn't worry me after all people got hurt once in a while. I said it wasn't about the girl but my bag.

"Oh I left it with Teddy because I left earlier for Mrs Pen's place. I told you that she wanted me to tutor her daughters privately".

"Yes, I forgot all about it. Oh dear, I am so stressed out. I went to Teddy's but he was not home". I said.

"Why bother to go through that stress, you can always get your bag tomorrow. Cone on girl, you don't have to go about because of your bag. You know it's safe with either of us". I chuckled,

"Come on girlfriend, I wasn't running about because of my bag rather it was because my phone was inside my bag". I explained

"Oh baby girl, I am sorry. Now I understand and who knows if we will get a call from Prince Charming". She reacted.

I tried not to give myself away and asked,

'Come on Benny, which Prince Charming? Don't start with your match-making talks now. Let me go home and rest". I surrendered.

"So my cousin didn't give you a call. I guess he is playing hard to get. He will come around soon". I smiled,

"Hey girl, are you trying to match me up with your cousin? That is not necessary,  okay".

"Let me get my keys. Let's go back to Teddy's. Maybe he will give you a call tonight". She suggested.

"No Benny, no need I am heading home. It's getting late already. I will get the phone tomorrow and stop matching me up with boyfriends. I am not ready for anyone okay". I replied.

"Come on Lyn, Abel is a good guy. I had not told you about his former girl. He was once in love with the mayor's daughter but the silly girl broke his heart. Since then he stayed clear of anyone that fell in the female gender. Come on girl, I wished he would meet someone like you who cares for her friends like they were her family. She kept on.

She chatted on and on until I got home. On stepping out of the car,

“How are you sure he will not break the heart of the next girl out of revenge”

“Never”. She responded as I bid her good night.

Throughout the night, I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up from time to time checking if the day had finally come. I rushed to the Academy and waited for Teddy.

A few minutes later he drove in and I rushed to him. There at the back seat lay my bag. I rushed and opened it and collected my phone.

Teddy was surprised by my reaction. When he saw that it was my phone. He apologized.

“I am so sorry for any inconvenience".

"Come on, Teddy. It's okay, I have it now. See you around".

I walked over to a seat in the compound and unlocked my phone. There are a few missed calls but I was only interested in Abel's. There were six missed calls. I felt bad and wished that he would understand. I dialed his number, and it buzzed but he didn't pick up. As the phone was buzzing my heart was pounding to my hearing.

I tried the number again, but he didn't pick it up. On the third trial, he picked up.

"Hospital cafeteria by five". Then he cut the call. I became dumbfounded and kept wondering if he was very angry or not angry at all.
