Chapter 6

Hayden POV

I have been happy throughout this morning and guess what my Fiancee is actually coming today and I am super excited about it.

Zoey's birthday is just two days from now and everyone has been really busy with the preparation.

Even my little brother canceled all his appointments just to help prepare for Zoey's birthday.

Emily hasn't been talking to me ever since she heard that my Fiancee is actually coming for Zoey's birthday and that's what baffles me the most.

I don't really know why Emily hates my Fiancee even without knowing her or have they seen before huh?

My daughter on the other hand just continued making me more sad by the day.

She has practically stopped talking to anyone and when I say talking I meant typing on her iPad like she used to.

I can't even remember when my daughter smiled in the past weeks. I have tried my best but it doesn't work.

All she does is go to school, come back and go straight to her Barbie house and stay all alone and I just hope she likes Adelyn.

I would have loved to stay at home today but I have a lot of work to do at the office so I started preparing for work.

After taking my bath I dressed up handsomely and took my briefcase and went downstairs to take breakfast.

While i was walking down the stairs I saw Evan walking down the stairs too and immediately he saw me he bursted into hilarious laughter.

Making a frown appear on my face and immediately he noticed it he stopped laughing immediately.

“What's so funny, young man?”

I asked.

“Oh sorry bro but don't you think you are too overdressed today or is it because your girlfriend is coming today?”

He said with a smirk on the side of his mouth.

“Point of correct Mr it's Fiancee not girlfriend and what do you mean i am overdressed i am just wearing a cloth.”

I replied with a small frown.

“I know but my elder brother will never wear a pair of jeans and shirt to work. He prefers wearing the old fashion suit.”

He said and i swallowed hard.

“Is there anything bad in having a little change of dressing? Moreover you have been mocking me because of the suit for a while now.”

I replied.

“Bro are you sure you did a little change of dressing or you are doing this to impress your so called Fiancee.”

He said and I frowned.

The truth is I hate it when someone talks low of my Fiancee and him addressing her as my so-called Fiancee got me angry but i just decided to let it go.

Because I don't want anything messing up my mood today I woke up happy and I want to continue being happy.

“Sorry Evan but i don't think that's any of your f**king business moreover she's my Fiancee so i don't think is anyone's business if i choose to look good for her.”

I half yelled and he flinched.

“Oh sorry for interfering into your life, I wouldn't do that again.”

He said with his voice barely a whisper.

I immediately started regretting my actions for Christ seek, what's wrong with me. He was actually joking. Why do I always get unnecessarily angry?

“Evan, I am sorry...”

I was saying but he cut me off.

“There is no need to apologize if you made your point. I think Emily and I have been interfering in your personal life and it's high time we stop.”

He said and left.

I walked down to the dinning and everyone was already present excluding Zoey and that got me surprised.

“Good morning mom.”

I greeted and kissed her cheek.

“Morning darling, you look stunning.”

She said and I smiled.

“Good morning bro.”

Emily muttered.

“Morning baby, I hope you slept well.”

I asked.

“Yeah.”

She simply said, making me sigh.

“Mom, where is Zoey?”

I asked, sipping my tea.

“She was too hungry to wait till breakfast so I gave her food she's at her barbie house.”

She replied and I nodded.

After breakfast I left for work.

After a few minutes' drive I finally got to the company.

I got down and locked up my car then started walking into the building and all my employees had a surprise look on their faces.

I guess my brother was right, even my employees were all surprised seeing me in such an outfit or doesn't it look good on me.

When I got to my office I dropped my briefcase and sat down on my office chair before I started getting some work done.

I heard a crazy knock on the door and without being told I already knew who was knocking at the door.

“Come in, the door is open.”

I muttered and immediately the door opened and my best friend Nathan came in.

Immediately he saw me he bursted into laughter and I was just staring at him wondering why he was laughing and what's so funny?.

After he had laughed to his satisfaction she stopped and sat on the couch inside my office to catch his breath.

“What's so funny dude or did you forget to take your drugs before coming to work huh?”

“Come on bro i should be the one asking you that, please have i suddenly gone blind or is what i am seeing real, is almighty Hayden Moore wearing a jean and shirt huh? What happened to the suit?”

“None of your business Nathan, I just felt like wearing that.”

I replied with an eye roll.

“Wait a minute, is Adelyn coming today huh?”

“Yeah.”

I simply said and he bursted into another round of laughter.

“Now I know why you are dressed like this.”

He said and I smiled unknowingly.

“Someone is blushing...”

He sang and a frown appeared on my face.

“I am not blushing.”

I said and he laughed.

“I have work to do. I will leave you to continue your fantasy.”

He said and I threw a pen at him and he ran out of my office laughing.

“What a friend..”

I muttered and continued my work.

FEW HOURS LATER

I thought today was going to be a stress free day but I was wrong.

I have been into this contract for closely seven months now and it was actually accepted today and everything came out of sudden.

I don't even think I will be able to pick Adelyn up as I planned to do.

I was still wallowing in my thoughts when a call came in and lo and behold it was my baby so i immediately picked up my phone.

...Hello babe, how are you doing?...

I said.

...I am Fine but I just arrived at San Carlos international airport so come pick me up...

She replied.

...Sorry babe but I can't pick you myself. I have lots of work I am doing so my brother or my sister will come pick you up if you don't mind...

I said

...Okay no problem, I am waiting...

She replied.

..Okay bye babe..

I said.

...Bye..

She replied and ended the call.

I immediately dialed Evan's line but it wasn't reachable, same with mom.

I took a deep breath and dialed Emily's line and she picked at the first ring.

...Hello bro...

She said.

...Hello baby please can you go pick Adelyn up from San Carlos international airport? I have a lot of work to do...

I said.

...Huh?...

... Please please please please...

I pleaded.

..Okay fine..

She muttered.

...Thanks babe I love you...

I said and I heard her scoff before she ended the call.

I just hope they like her.

Because that will really make me happy.
