I will find my real mate

"You're always busy. You never have time for me anymore." She said slowly, turning her head.

She was standing in front of our door, a look on her face. "I found something out. Something that I think you should know."

"What is it?" I asked, stepping up and leaning against the doorway. I wasn't worried about what she had found out. I was just curious about what it was.

"You don't need to be here for this, Serena." She said, shooting me a look.

"Sorry, but I'm not going anywhere." I snapped, crossing my arms. "Whatever it is, she should know it."

She let out a huff, and then crossed her arms.

"What is it?" Ezra asked, his voice beginning to sound impatient.

"I heard some of the other women talking. They told me that the Moon Goddess said she would let you sever your bond with Serena." She said slowly.

I felt my heart drop, and then looked at Ezra.

"Is it true?" I asked, my voice sounding weak.

His face was unreadable as he stared back at me, but he didn't say anything.

"See?" She asked, turning and looking at me. "It's true."

"You lied to me?" I whispered. "I knew you never wanted to be my mate."

I turned and ran, not stopping as I ran from our room and out of our house. I heard their shouts behind me, but ignored it as I ran through the forest.

I didn't stop until I got to my car, getting inside and starting the engine.

I drove for hours until I got back to my old pack. As I walked towards the hut, I could feel her gaze on me. I looked up and met her gaze, feeling tears fall from my eyes.

"I knew he never loved me." I whispered, walking towards her.

Her arms wrapped around me as she pulled me into a hug. I sobbed into her arms as we stood outside my old hut.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. "You deserve someone better."

I shook my head, my tears falling harder. "No." I whispered. "That's the worst part. I love him. I'll always love him."

She gasped and then shook her head.

"You can't love him. He doesn't deserve your love. Not when he doesn't even love you." She growled low.

"I know." I cried, shaking my head.

"You need to move on." She said slowly. "Get over him."

"I don't know how." I sobbed, pulling away and looking up at her.

"Find your real mate. If you two are meant to be together then your bond will grow stronger than his and mine ever could. You'll make him jealous, and you'll make him regret rejecting you."

I stared at her for a moment, her words sinking in. "That's a good idea." I whispered.

She nodded, her face soft. "I'm always here for you, Serena. I'll help you get over him. Now, let's go inside and talk about a plan."

I nodded and then followed her into the hut. As we walked inside, I knew I had made a mistake when I left her. I shouldn't have gone with Ezra.

Now all I could do was make it right.

"Let me go." I growled as Ezra pulled me from my car.

"I'm not letting you leave." He snarled low. "Not after what you did to me."

"What am I supposed to have done to you?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Tell the Moon Goddess that our mating bond should be severed." He roared.

"She already said it could." I snarled back, my eyes flashing. "But now it's up to me what happens, and I don't want anything to do with you."

He glared back at me, his grip on my arms tightening. He didn't say anything though, just stared back at me with a cold gaze. His body was tense, his breathing hard, but his expression was unreadable.

"Let me go, Ezra." I growled.

He finally spoke up then, his voice low and seductive. "If you'll stay with me." He whispered. "If you'll be my partner like you promised."

"I didn't promise anything." I snarled.

His grip on my arms tightened then, and he pulled me against him.

"You did. You promised to be my mate." He growled low. "I've wanted you for a long time. Now you can be mine."

I glared at him, and then yanked my arms from his grip. He stumbled backwards, a look of shock on his face.

"You never wanted me." I hissed, turning and walking to my car. "I should have never trusted you. I should have never agreed to be your partner."

"You can't leave now." He snarled behind me. "The bond between us is too strong. If we don't do things right then I'll lose my wolf."

"I hope you do lose him." I whispered, getting into my car and starting the engine.

He appeared by my side though, and then slammed his hand onto the steering wheel. "I'm not letting you go." He growled.

"You can't stop me." I snapped, pushing him away from my car. He snarled at me, but then finally stepped away.

He glared at me as I pulled away, but then he finally turned and disappeared into the forest.

I ignored the pang in my chest at his words, and then continued driving back home. I wouldn't be fooled by him again, and now I was going to make him regret ever rejecting me.

“Where is my mate?” He demanded, his chest heaving. He had just returned from hunting with a few of the other men in the pack.

“Your mate is none of your business.” I snapped back, looking away.

I had told him that he had no right to my life, and now he was acting like he could boss me around. I would never let him do that.

He snarled, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards him. I tried to struggle, but his hold on me was too tight. He pinned my arms behind me and leaned in close, his mouth brushing mine.
