Physical Touching

Kara was suspicious... Only a glass door separated her from Ivan. Fortunately, she wasn't alone with him... Even if they didn't talk too much, she had two other interns with her... Ivan remained seated in front of his computer, a good part of the day sometimes he got up to answer a call or to smoke a cigarette... At dinner time, the young woman left her post with relief to go to the cafeteria. All the topics of conversation were based on him... Even Harry, a straight guy, was talking about him... Kara said nothing and just stood there listening to them... She knew him too well to speak well of him... .

"You're lucky to be so close to him… I wish I was in your place." said Jasmine, an employee of the archives.

"I'm not that lucky... I remind you that it will be up to me to manage his mood swings".

"Never mind. He's so handsome..."

***

The 30 minutes of the break passed quickly and the young woman returned to her office. She glanced at the glass door but the man wasn't there...

His computer was still open on his desk so the young woman understood that he had surely moved to eat or something else. She took advantage of his absence to finish her day's work and with a little luck, she could finish what he asked for before her day was over.

An hour passed and the young woman had finished her work. It was two o'clock. She was finishing at 4 o'clock so she was going to use the two remaining hours to do this report... She doubted it was going to take two hours but... She hoped it would. There was no question of her being alone with him...

When she had just sent the program for the day to his e-mail, the door opened abruptly and Ivan came in with a bang.

His eternally calm expression had given way to neutrality. No emotion showed through but his eyes... His eyes, describing a strong anger shooting everything that passed under his gaze... It was... almost scary.

Kara felt like she was going to be sucked into a vortex caused by his passing. She even remained captivated by it.

During that time, she couldn't help noticing his muscular arms, torso and legs and the impressive way that gray Armani suit clung to his body like a second skin.

There was something decidedly lethal and predatory about the way he walked...

Predator... Yes... That she confirmed... He was a real predator...

If she hadn't met him in such a... compelling situation, she would have found him fascinating...

The phone rang and the young woman couldn't help jumping, not expecting it. She swallowed when she noticed that it was the phone that allowed her to speak to her boss that was ringing...

With a trembling hand, she took it...

" Hello..."

"Come immediately to my office..."

Then he hung up. Kara gulped and turned to notice that he was sitting behind his desk with his back to her... With a bit of hesitation and after gathering her courage in both hands, Kara gently knocked on the glass door before leaving her. push when he waved her in...

"Here I am, Mr. Ivanovitch." She said in a tone more detached than ever...

The man didn't flinch... He didn't even glance at her and didn't say anything to her for at least forty seconds.

The young woman didn't take long to want to tell him again that she was there and was waiting for him to speak to her, but the young woman had preferred to be silent. He's probably in a bad mood and there's no way he's taking out his anger on her. She preferred not to say anything. Kindly waiting for him. He wasn't going to leave standing here for long...

"Where were you between 12:30-1:00...?" he asked calmly.

Kara frowned...

"In the cafeteria. It's the half hour break."

"Break...? And who decided so?"

"Well…it's Mr…Neil."

Kara couldn't help but swallow her saliva...

"Mr. Neil, he's not your boss anymore if I remember correctly."

She didn't know what to say so she just shut up...

"Starting tomorrow, you'll take the break at 2:00... And you'll be back before 2:20."

20 minutes ? Was he crazy? No... She wouldn't even have time to finish her plate...

And... even less to go to the toilet and do our business. It was...too little.

"Are you listening to me at least...?"

Kara jumped and looked back at the man who had finally laid eyes on her...

"Yes, Mr. Ivanovitch. But..."

She fell silent in front of the eyebrow he had just arched... She shouldn't have said... the *but* and it was now that she realized it...

"But, Miss Reyes...? What do you have to say?"

"Well...I meant that...20 minutes for the meal...that's...very little. I have to go to the bathroom and then eat, I wouldn't have..."

"15..."

" What?"

"2:15, I must see you at your post. Do you have anything more to say. I would be happy to order you not to leave your seat."

Kara swallowed. She had just aggravated her case. She shouldn't have spoken. She should have smiled and thanked him as if he had just done her a huge favor.

"Good. That's what I thought. Something else..."

He rummaged through a pile of files. And pulled one out and dropped it in front of the young woman with a snap.

" What is that ?"

Kara took the file with a shaking hand and opened it... It was the file of an agreement between the agency and the hotel in Bali.

"It's an agreement signed between Mr. Neil and a hotel in Bali."

"So.. you're implying that I can't read?"

Kara gulped… He was going to make her life hell. And if he were to recognize her... She was dead.

"No, Mr. Ivanovich."

“That's not what I asked you then...I asked you what it was...”

"It's...one of...our agency's contracts with...a place of residence." She stammered knowing that he would surely take her answer badly...

"This contract was signed three days ago... Don't you think I deserve to know that?"

"Well…yes, Mr. But…I thought Mr. Neil told you about it."

"No he didn't since it's not his job. It was up to you to do it."

" Well..."

The man's gaze was intimidating. Why did she suddenly find him handsome when he was ruining her life?

"I'm sorry, Mr. I'll let you know next time."

"I hope so Miss. Reyes because if I get you fired, I will make sure you never get to work in your life."

Kara swallowed, then lowered her head. She understood... He didn't need to say more. His gaze already spoke for him...

"Good. Call this gentleman and cancel the contract." he ordered.

Cancel ? It was impossible.

"But... The contract is irrevocable and it is signed for one year."

"This hotel, Miss Reyes, does not exist. And this gentleman is a human trafficker."

Kara startled, put her hand over her mouth, scared. How could Neil have signed such a contract?

"He didn't know...Neil was just blindsided by how much money he was going to make from this hotel. Now do as I say and get back to your job."

"Good, Mr."

"One more thing...I'm going to have a videoconference that will last maybe 4 hours...I don't want to be disturbed for any reason."

"Okay, Mr. Ivanovich"

"Good. You may dispose."

And so the day went on. Around 4 a.m., the trainees said goodbye to her and she found herself alone with him...

Even the glass door seemed to disappear. She was in a hurry to finish her work which she was not even halfway through. She glanced at him and noticed that he was still with his back to her with his computer...

After half an hour, Kara, thirsty, got up from her desk to get some water... Everyone was gone. Only the maids were present... Ava couldn't help but swallow... If Ivan remembered her and he wanted to kill her since he hadn't had the chance the last time then he could now...

And she wouldn't have anyone to save her... She swallowed and went up to the office without failing to look at the sun which was going down on the horizon...

She sat down behind her computer and accelerated so she could leave the office before the sun went down...

An hour later, she finished the report. 356 pages. She was quick. Looked proud of herself. However, she still had an hour to spend doing nothing and she was hungry...

What was she going to be able to find to eat at such an hour. It was already 5 o'clock in the afternoon... This restaurant in which she was going to eat closed its doors at 6 o'clock...

Even if she left now, she wouldn't arrive in time.

She felt her stomach cry out as she thought about the delicious noodles.

She sighed and saw the man close his computer and get up from his seat. He must have ended...

Without wasting a second, she rushed to the door and knocked.

Once, she caught his eye but he turned away from her, ignoring her...

She then waited but nothing came. So she knocked a second time. She saw him frown, then waved him in...

The young woman came in and closed the door behind her...

"Here is the report you requested..."

"Good…give it to me."

He took the report from her hands and began to leaf through it...

Page by...page, the young woman became more and more skeptical. She hoped the calculations were correct. Otherwise... She already knew he was going to ask her to start all over again.

On the last page, Kara gulped as she watched him get up from his seat...

"The report...is quick but...full of errors."

And shit. Kara swallowed already knowing what he was going to say...

"Do it again..." he ordered simply.

Kara reached out to take the report but Ivan tore it up under her horrified gaze. And there, the young woman wanted to cry...

She was exhausted...so exhausted...

"NOW ?" she asked as her tears stung her eyes.

" Why not ?" He replied, taking a step towards her.

"Not...today, Mr. Ivanovitch." She blurted out, oblivious to the risk she was taking…

"And why?" he asked, approaching her.

Kara's heart was pounding in her chest when she saw him in the elevator again… In the bedroom. With in the eyes, this same dangerous gleam.

"I...I..." she stammered, taking a step back.

"Do you have children? A boyfriend? A fiance? A husband? Someone waiting for you at home?"

"No... nobody." Drop it without thinking.

What she regretted the next moment...

"So why don't you want to...stay?"

Well...because she was afraid...of him. And she was hungry.

"I'm…hungry and sleepy." I didn't sleep too much last night.

"Well." He said, bypassing the young woman to return to his initial position.

"Can i go?" she asked, surprised.

"Yes... but first, sign this document."

He takes a piece of paper from his drawer and hands it to her...

"It's to be able to prepare your new work contract with me."

She doesn't even take the time to read. She just wanted to get home as soon as possible, before he changed his mind. She was going so fast that she didn't even feel him behind her...

"Miss Reyes..." he called her in a calm voice.

The young woman jumped and noticed him. She feels horrified. Frozen.

"Mr. Ivanovitch," she replied in a trembling voice.

"You'll have to think about redoing your wardrobe..." he began.

Ava stopped short when she felt something hard against her buttocks and the next moment the man's hands were pulling the hair from her neck. She was alarmed and ravaged by horror... She already had her idea...

He was a real pervert...

"I wear Armani, Gucci, luxury. And my secretary is out of the question..."

He fell silent and Kara felt him tug on the collar of his jacket as if to…look at the mark.

"Ready to wear..." he finished.

Then he did not move away, on the contrary, he clung to her even more. Kara felt her heart leap out of her chest and she began to sweat profusely. What was he going to do?

"And tie your hair up...I'm not paying you for a strip party."
