Chapter Five

Desmond was the reincarnation of Alpha Damien. His wife Susan, was the reincarnation of Luna Elvira. And Jasper was the reincarnation of Gavin, Lucas’s best friend, who was long dead.

Werewolves’ World;

Now, let me take everyone back to the medieval times; the 15th century. The reign of the evil Alpha Damien.

On a fateful beautiful sunny day, the air was filled with wildflowers, and nature felt alive. It was also a very beautiful day for the beautiful Selena Lupa, who had just turned 18 and couldn't wait to meet her Wolf, and whom the Moon Goddess had prepared for her as a mate.

I could still recall how she swung her hands in excitement, her feet hopping in the tiny room she’d shared with her poor parents. Oh yes, they were poor, but happiness dwelled in that household.

Selena was so beautiful that whenever she walked past, she’d turn heads. A lot of desperate male wolves hovered around her but waited for her to turn 18. Lol… and finally, she was 18.

Hmmm… the worst mistake of her innocent life.

“Selena, what would you want me to prepare for your birthday meal?” Her mother asked, trying to put the kitchen in order, so she could be able to prepare something for her beautiful daughter.

Selena stopped hopping, moving to the tiny kitchen that was a few miles away from the living room. “I know you make the best meals in the world, mother, but I'd rather request a cake I will take to my friends at our usual meeting spot. I had promised them one.” She responded, with a big smile playing on her lips.

“Alright, my dear, go wash up and get ready. The oven is fast, and I trust it to get your cake ready in a few minutes,” Her mother giggled.

The happy Selena rushed into her tiny bathroom, had her bath, and chose a white flare gown as her outfit for that day. Then rushed back into the kitchen.

“Just on time, my darling girl,” her mother smiled, flipping the hot cake into the red and white middle-sized cake box. And carefully arranged the box. She gently carried it, and handed it over to Selena.

“Thank you so much, mother,” Selena took the cake box and darted outside.

“Don’t forget to come home earlier, so we can have our family celebration.” Her mother happily said.

“Ok, mother!”

Selena held the cake box closer to her chest, the delicious scent of chocolate and cream wafted from the box as she strolled through the woods. Her footsteps were light and carefree.

“Finally, we cross paths,” a deep voice from behind uttered.

Selena’s eyes sprinted through the woods and halted at the sight of Gavin. Her smile suddenly faded from her lips.

Gavin was the only son of Alpha Damien’s Beta, Carson. Though Carson was a peaceful and gentle man, his son, Gavin, was never like him. Gavin and Lucas were best friends from birth, the two gentlemen grew up together, and both loved and trusted one another.

Selena sighed, “I’m not in for your dramas today, Gavin.” She made to walk away, but he cornered her.

Gavin was the most desperate to have Selena, even though he already had a mate. “Happy birthday to you, Selena. You are finally 18,” he forcefully pulled her by the waist, causing the cake to fall, as she struggled to free herself.

“Let go of me, Gavin!” She tried to free herself, but he held her tightly. “You are hurting me. Please stop.”

He maliciously laughed, “I’m yet to start.” He forced his lips towards her and lifted up her gown, then reached for her undies.

Selena snarled, sinking her teeth into his arms. The sharp pain made him stumble back, his grip on her loosened.

Her feet suddenly darted back to her house as streams of tears gushed down her cheeks.

Her parents saw her running into the house, with sadness on her face. “What’s wrong, darling?” her mother yelled with a shock plastered on her face. But Selena just stood in front of her parents, gasping heavily.

“It was, Gavin,” she finally spoke, but in a trembling voice and her fingers pointed toward the woods.

Her parents softly held her arms, helping her to sit. “It's still your beautiful birthday, we need only smiles from you, not tears.” Her father warmly said with a big smile on his face.

But just then, a loud noise of people was heard approaching their house, and before they could step out, some angry warriors busted into their home. Without a word, they seized and dragged them outside into the open field.

They were forced to their knees as the warriors stood over them, the faces of the warriors hard and cold. Their swords flickering at the sunset.

Fear was written on Selena and her parent's faces, but her parents managed to hold her in an embrace. “It’s ok, my child, everything will be fine.” Her mother whispered.

Alpha Damien walked up to them. Following behind him were Beta Carson, Luna Elvira, Lucas, Gavin, and lots of warriors. And they all stood in front of Selena and her parents.

Selena’s trembling eyes darted through everyone and halted at Lucas, who was gazing mysteriously at her.

She felt a connection with him, but the situation at hand overshadowed her romantic feelings. Just at first sight, she knew he was her mate, and also the Alpha’s son.

“They are the traitors, Alpha. I saw them with the vampires.” Gavin cried out.

In the 15th century, any werewolf seen with vampires was considered treason.

“No, he’s lying Alpha, we are innocent. Gavin had tried to…” She made to stand up but the warriors pressed her knees back to the ground.

“You are hurting my child, please leave her alone.” Her mother whimpered.

Alpha Damien moved closer to them and sneered at her father. “So you are the traitor selling your kind out for money? Do you know how many of my warriors I’ve lost to the vampires? He gleefully laughed, “It's time to feel what they felt.”

“No, Alpha, we didn't betray the pack. We are innocent.” Fear ran through his body as he held his family in an embrace.

Alpha Damien maliciously smirked, “Every traitor claims they are innocent,” he stared at his warriors, “Separate the male traitor and bind him with chains,” he ordered his warriors. They seized Selena’s father and bonded him with a thick chain.

Selena’s breath came short in fear, tears running down her cheeks like rain. She gazed right into Lucas's eyes, “Please save us,” Her voice came out faintly.
