Chapter 1

Once he entered the room to check on the twins, Allison and Alejandro Salvatore, Dr. Anderson couldn’t help but smile at how fast they were growing. The process of delivering a hybrid was new to him as a Werewolf; but he was fortunate enough to deliver the Vampire/Werewolf twins of Zane and Ravenna Salvatore, King and Queen of Dark Light Coven, the Vampire kingdom. He nodded his head proudly to Ravenna, smiled at her, and adjusted his glasses. “I called Dr. Petrova to come by tomorrow to give their Vampire side a look before I release you tomorrow, rest up you may be going home.”

Ravenna’s eyes lit up as she nodded in excitement, she took Alejandro from him, smiled at the doctor, and watched him as he left the room. She laid Alejandro down in his bassinet and picked up Allison from her bassinet for her evening feed. “How about I tell you a story little ones,” she asked as she got comfortable in her rocker. She began to rock in her chair as Allison fed and her mind drifted back to all that occurred to get them to this point.

“Once upon a time there were three kingdoms, the Werewolf, human, and Vampire kingdoms. They signed a peace treaty and were enjoying the peace that time offered them. In the Royal Pack of Werewolves, there was a Princess, she had a sister named Serena and they were very close.”

She adjusted baby Allison to burp and continued with her story. “Peace was going good; however, not everyone wanted it. The ambition of two men caused the death of the Alarian Queen, an Alpha, the royal bodyguard of Princess Serena, and a Vampire Prince. These untimely deaths caused a war to break out across the three kingdoms.”

“This Princess, through all the fighting and death, found the one thing she would cherish most of all; her mate, the Vampire Prince Zane Salvatore. While her sister Serena found her mate the human Prince Caleb Addison of Alaria. Now, Prince Caleb was having a rough time as the human Royal Advisor poisoned his father the king, and took over the human kingdom, as Caleb was rescuing his mate from danger. So the Werewolves decided to help him reclaim his throne with the help of the Vampires.”

Ravenna heard the door quietly open, as she was laying down Allison and grabbed Alejandro for his feeding. She looked up and noticed her mate sit down and smile at her. She returned his smile and sat down and started to feed the baby.

“The Werewolves, Vampires, and some humans managed to reclaim the human kingdom and kill the bad advisor allowing Caleb to become king. It was two weeks later when Caleb went through his coronation; two nice Witches came to warn the Kings of the three kingdoms. They heard that the Tribrid Rudy, who caused all that havoc and hurt all those people, would be attacking the Vampire kingdom. So the kingdoms prepared for another war. Eventually, the Tribrid and his Rogue army attacked the kingdom of Dark Light. The three kingdoms fought bravely, and they managed to kill the Tribrid and route the Rogue army.”

She carefully laid Alejandro down, and slowly walked over to Zane and kissed him passionately, “that Princess and her mate who she loves so much then had a beautiful wedding and two healthy babies, and they lived happily ever after as King and Queen of Dark Light Coven.”

“You should get some sleep; I can sit with the twins until they need to feed again.” He said smiling at her as he rubbed her shoulders trying to help her relax.

Nodding in agreement, she laid down in the small hospital bed as he lay down next to her holding her until she fell asleep.

She woke up a few hours later, and scanned the room to see Zane in the chair rocking little Allison, “she’s such a Daddy’s girl” she giggled.

As he rocked her, he looked up at Ravenna sending her a crooked smile. She sat up in the bed, turning to look at Alejandro, noticing he was still asleep she turned to Zane. “So what’s going on in the kingdom,” she inquired.

“Lilith and Tiffany are on their honeymoon, they will be gone for two weeks.” She nodded and smiled enthusiastically for their Head Tracker and her new wife. Ravenna and Tiffany had a rough patch at first when the Witch hit on Zane. Eventually, they made up and the three of them had become great friends.

“Our mothers have made plans to take over our children, so enjoy your time while you can,” he smirked. “Serena will be coming by with Megan once we get home; she wants to come to see the twins before Caleb won’t let her travel due to her pregnancy.”

Nodding, she was ready to see her sister and her niece. Serena and Caleb adopted Megan when she was 7 after her family was killed in the war. However, they have been trying to have a child of their own, and they have had their dreams shattered more than once due to the miscarriages Serena had experienced. When this baby managed to get to 12 weeks everyone relaxed a lot, but the fact that they are going to be extremely careful does not come as a surprise to Ravenna. Having decided to take a quick shower, Ravenna jumped out of her bed, grabbed an outfit to wear, placed a kiss on Zane’s cheek, and headed into the bathroom.

She started by brushing her teeth and undressed. She stepped into the shower and lathered the shampoo in her hair; she relaxed as she massaged it into her scalp. Hearing the screaming of a baby informed her that she was needed, rolling her eyes, she smiled at how much her life has changed nearly overnight. She quickly washed out the shampoo and stepped out of the shower. She quickly dressed, wrapped her hair in a towel, and headed out to her room. She picked up Alejandro, sat down, and began feeding him as a knock on the door was heard.

“Come in,” she said as she covered up the breastfeeding baby.

“Good morning Your Highnesses,” Dr. Petrova, the doctor of Dark Light Coven came into the room. “I’ve come to check out the twins so you can be released today,” she stated as she took Allison from Zane.

As she looked over the baby girl, the doctor couldn’t help but smile. “They are growing well; you will want to start giving them a little blood within the next week or so. You only need to give them around one ml, which should be enough to help keep the Vampire side of them content.” She smiled at Zane as she gave Allison back, turning to Ravenna who just finished feeding and burping Alejandro; she took him and looked him over.

“He takes after his father; he’s going to be strong.” Smiling as she handed him back, she wrote some instructions down. Here is what I recommend, and I’ll be close by if you have any questions.” Smiling she handed them their paper and left the room.

A few hours later they were released and loaded up in the car to head back to their place in Dark Light Coven. Once they finally arrived, they were met in the driveway by the King and Queen of Alaria: Caleb, Serena, and their adopted daughter Megan. Ravenna’s mother former Queen Marian, and Zane’s mother former Queen Drucilla came out of the castle to meet them as well. As Zane and Ravenna took the babies out of their car seats and handed them to the family, they walked into the dining room and sat down for breakfast.

Setting down a plate of food in front of Ravenna, the servant smiled and bowed to her queen. Ravenna smiled back as she said, “thank you.” She realized that she had never seen this servant before, and assumed they did some hiring while she was in the hospital. As the family sat there and ate their breakfast, they spent the time catching up after not seeing each other since the previous attack on Dark Light Castle. After half an hour; former Kings Lucius and Alistair entered the room to meet their new grandchildren. Taking time to look at the babies, Lucius came and hugged Ravenna, “welcome back my dear; I’m glad everything went smoothly. Your babies are beautiful,” he said smiling at her.

Lucius turned to look at Zane and got a solemn expression on his face. “I’m sorry to interrupt here, but we need to discuss something with you, and it is important.” Zane nodded in affirmation, kissed Ravenna’s head, and left the room behind his father father-in-law, and brother-in-law Caleb. Stepping into his office, he shut the door behind them and sat down. He noticed that Alistair had called King David of the Royal Pack and he was joining on speakerphone.

“What’s wrong,” Zane asked them confused.

“Welcome back Zane, I hope the babies are well,” King David said through the phone. “We are coming across a problem where we are having Werewolves taken. It’s not like Rogues are killing them as there are no bodies. They are just up and disappearing, any age from infants to elders. We have no leads or any ideas on what is happening to them.”

“We are having the same issue as well,” former King Lucius spoke up. We have lost around 15 Vampires within the past 4 months between the five covens that have been reported.”

Zane nodded his head and looked at Caleb, “are you having similar issues?”

“No whoever this is only after shifters, I will do what I can to help you solve this, and just let me know what you need,” Caleb replied to the group looking at them sadly.

“Well they have to be taking the missing people somewhere, let’s get trackers to split up into groups and look for them. It probably won’t hurt to have Vampires and wolves in each group. David, with Lilith on her honeymoon, I would like to request Gemma to come and take the spot as a head tracker for Dark Light for two weeks. She, Patrick, and little Aiden have full permission to come and go as they need from here.” Zane stated as both a statement and a question.

“I will get in touch with her today and I’ll send them to Dark Light. I’ll get Hunter started in the meantime with numbers and I’ll contact you on how many trackers we will need,” David confirmed.

“Sounds good, we can meet up in person in three days to discuss everything. To keep Serena from traveling too much how about we meet here because she’s here already?” Zane asked the group.

As the group nodded in agreement, and David verbally agreed, they ended the phone call. They then headed back downstairs to spend some time with the babies and their mates.
