Chapter 6

Aliyah point of view

Two months have passed since those things happened between Hercules and me.

Little by little I'm also forgetting that and maybe it's just nothing for him.

I couldn't help but wipe the sweat from my forehead because it was already wet, even though you were tired and sweaty, you still continued to wash the many plates in the sink.

I was going to work in a cafeteria as a dishwasher to buy food and medicine for mom.

In the two months that passed, Mama's body suddenly collapsed because of her illness, which also caused her to stop working.

He needs an operation on his liver because he has a stone there. I still need to save for that, that's why I stopped studying and focused on working.

Every morning I am a sales lady in Divisoria and every night I wash dishes in this cafeteria.

Even if I make twice as much as you now, it's still not enough, I still can't get Mama to have surgery because just for her medicine, my salary is not enough every day.

I frowned and looked at my cellphone when it rang, I took it from my pocket and answered my youngest brother's call.

I immediately asked my brother where the hospital was before quickly leaving and didn't even bother to say goodbye to my boss because of worry.

"Lily!" he quickly ran to me while crying and I hugged him before asking "Why did he lose consciousness, what did Mama do?"

"He tried to do the laundry, but while he was doing the laundry, he lost consciousness."

I quickly closed my eyes and cried. I couldn't help but sit in the chair because of so much weakness.

We were quickly attended by Aling Purita who is Lily's assistant to bring Mama here.

"Are you the patient's relative?" I quickly stood up and turned to the doctor.

"Yes, we are." His eyes were sad so I couldn't help but be nervous.

"Iha, your mother needs surgery because if we don't remove the stone from her liver, she could die." I was in tears again and bowed down.

"Which doc is needed to operate on Mama?"

"200,000 iha" I almost trembled at the money he said we would need.

Where? Where can I get that much money? It seems that even if I don't take a break from working all day and night, I won't earn that.

I quickly sat down and cried again and Lily immediately hugged me and she spoke.

"sister, where are we going to get such an amount?" I smiled at him bitterly before ruffling his hair.

"it's up to me, I'll find money for Mama to have surgery." He nodded at me and smiled, but like me, he didn't seem to know what to do.

"What!? After you leave what you washed here, you're going to charge me for your wages!?" Aling Berna shouted loudly who was very angry with me.

I bowed down while crying "I really need money Aling Berna, Mama was taken to the hospital so I left the laundry but I will wash it now, just give me my salary for one week." I beg you calmly here.

"Your mother didn't do anything sensible! It's always a burden on you, why don't you just let her know so you don't get into trouble!" I was even more depressed by what he said.

If he can speak, it's like what he's saying is nothing, what child would let their parents disappear from them?

"Hey Berna, you're talking too much! Just give the boy his salary because he worked hard for it too!" Aling Purita shouted at him.

Aling Berna quickly took money from his wallet and threw four hundred in my face.

"That's it! You've only been in here for four days and now you're out!" he asked and we ran away with a bang.

I sobbed and picked up the four hundred that he gave so Aling Purita hugged me "Iha accept it, I'm sorry because my family and I are also under pressure, you know my son Jun hasn't sent yet." Aling Purita handed me three thousand which I immediately accepted.

"I will not refuse it because I need it, thank you very much Aling Purita." he just smiled sadly at me and hugged me again.

Now I'm in the hospital and I'm in a daze, wondering where I'm going to get Mama's surgery. Now that my job has been reduced, it seems that we will have more difficulties.

'Call me if you need my help.'

I was quickly stunned to remember what Cassey had told me, he is indeed rich now. It's not bad if I borrow money from them first and I'll just pay it back when I'm ready?

The case is that Cassey is no longer in the Philippines, a month has passed since he went to the states to continue his studies there.

And if I owe money, how can I pay them?

I immediately stood up and greeted him "good night." I was still stuttering because of the shock.

"You're too formal Iha, I'm here to have a business with you." My forehead was wrinkled and the tears that were dripping from my eyes were smeared.

"I don't have a company." he laughed and ruffled my hair.

He said his son likes me? Exodus and I are not close, does he mean Hercules?

I shook my head because what I was thinking was so impossible. I don't like that very much and it's like a brother to me because of the age difference between the two of us.

Too bad he doesn't want to be my brother, tsk tsk tsk.

Next, I took a bite of the Italian pasta that was in front of me right now. We are currently here at the Italian restaurant because Mr. Hendrick said we can just talk here.

He also asked me and Lily if we had eaten and we hadn't because we were more worried about Mama's condition so he brought us here today.

"I'm here to talk about your Mom's situation." I drank juice and looked at Mr. Hendrick.

"I want to help you and your Mom Aliyah, I will pay the hospital bill and I thought that you and your sister will study in a good school." My eyes widened and Lily and I looked at each other with the same reaction.

"But why?" I asked him as he smiled "Nothing, aren't you happy that I'm going to help you?" I smiled and shook my head at him.

"I'm happy, I'll look into this debt of gratitude to you."

"Promise me, I will study hard and when I grow up and work with you, I will repay you with the help you give to my family." Tito Hendrick nodded and smiled strangely.

"You must Iha, because when the time comes I'm sure he will really charge you so you better be prepared." he said meaningfully but I don't know why my heart felt fear.

"Sister, the Chavilires are really smart, besides the guy you were talking to earlier I only saw on TV. He's handsome in person." I smiled at what Lily said.

Mr. is really handsome. Hendrick and Cassey's other uncles. Even though they are older, they look like Ian Veneracion or Gabby Eigelman, who are more flattered.

So it's no wonder that Hercules and his cousin are also handsome. "I'm really excited to study Sister! But I'm even more excited because Mama is going to have surgery." Me too, I'm excited too.

I didn't expect them to help us, they were kind because they helped someone in need like me.

"What son is this?" Mama was surprised as she looked at the huge stock of food in the house.

He's been operated on and now he's out of the hospital. I can see the joy in Mama's eyes.

"They are so kind son, I didn't expect them to help us like this." I also nodded and smiled.

"Yes, Mom, they are very kind." the smiles on Mama's face gradually disappeared before she looked at me and touched my face.

"But I don't know why I seem to be afraid of what it will be like. Maybe I'm just being paranoid." he smiled and went to the foods to look at them.

I took a deep breath and bowed.

'Me too Ma, I'm also afraid of what will happen in exchange for everything we enjoy now.'

Seven years later

"Congratulations Son!" I quickly hugged Mama and Lily after I got off the stage.

Today is my graduation from the business administration course. It's been more than seven years since Mama got sick and now we don't have any more problems.

"Son, where are you going to work?" I quickly ate Jollibee's chicken joy before answering Mama.

"In one of Chavilire Ma's companies, Tito Hendrick talked to me that the secretary position was available in one of his companies, so he immediately decided to hire me."

He nodded at me and said again "Well, what you studied has something to do with that secretarial position."

A lot has happened in the past seven years. Since I was 14 years old, it was Tito Hendrick and Auntie Athena who sent me and my sister to school.

They also supported my family, so I owe a lot to their husband and wife. They also said that I should only call them Aunt and Uncle.

They even want to be Mommy and Daddy, but I'm shy so I'll just call it Uncle and Aunt.

In Cassey's life, he is really luxurious. The girl I used to clean the kitchen of Aling Berna with is now a Hollywood Actress and Model.

The distance between our two lives is getting further and further apart. But even so, I'm still happy with what I have now.

I'm with Mama and Lily so I don't think there's anything missing in my life.

Aliyah!" I quickly put my cellphone away from my ear because of Cassey's loud shout on the other line.

"How are you? We look so good on TV." I'm so glad I heard her giggle from the other line. More than four years have passed since we last saw each other and it was Cassey's debut.

After that incident, we didn't see each other again, but we still talked, on calls or chats.

"I'm now here in the Philippines and Mom wants me to celebrate my 23rd birthday here in Hacienda De Chavilire." I waited for what he had to say but I think I already know why he called.

"You'll come right? Bring Aunt Riyah and also Lily cause I miss them so much!"

"Then, can I reject my Hollywood actress friend? Of course not." I'm still joking here while adjusting the requirements that I will use to enter one of Tito Hendrick's companies.

In fact, I haven't talked to Aunt Athena about it yet, so I don't even know who my boss will be.

But whoever is my boss is fine with me, the important thing is to have a job.

"Aliyah! It took you a long time to act! The driver sent by the Chavilires has been waiting for a while!" I frowned because Mama's mouth was so strong.
