Since I introduced Haru to them as a child, I've noticed that my two older brothers dislike him, despite the fact that Mom and Dad do.

They constantly think Haru is a womanizer, but I've never seen him act that way because he's always with Bettina.

"He's not like that brother; he truly loves Bettina, and I know he will never cheat on her."

He merely groaned and didn't respond. "If you say so," he whispered as he took me to my room.

I went straight to bed after arriving, thinking about Haru and our forthcoming wedding.

"Gosh, Serena! I'm really excited for your birthday; I'm sure it'll be special! Look at the invitation; it's so beautiful!" I smiled at Alexa cautiously.

"Actually, I just want a simple celebration, but dad refuses; he says he wants the best for me," one of my pals said.

I had no idea who the real me was my entire life. My circle of friends, as far as I know, only befriended me because of my father.

I was walking with my buddies when Bettina abruptly halted in front of me.

She frowned and glared fiercely at me. "You know what? I should have trusted my instincts that you were a flirt." I feel sad for her.

"Hey Bettina, are you trying to start a fight?" Alexa asked plainly, which caused her to struggle.

"Yes, I'm going to start a fight because this b*tch is stealing my boyfriend," I said, astonished when she struck me hard in the face.

I looked at her again after she slapped my cheek. Despite my anger, I recognized the pain and sadness in her eyes.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about," my mother says, or is it conceivable that Haru told her about our engagement and that's why she's treating me in this bad way?

"Oh, c'mon, don't act like you're innocent, you little b*tch! I thought you only saw him as a friend; that's why you're taking him away from me," she snapped, forcing me to sigh.

I watched Alexa take their iPhones before filming Bettina mocking me.

They are really bold! Instead of assisting me or weaning Bettina, they preferred to stand aside and film us!

Bettina's hand was in my hair, and I was desperately trying to get it out since what she was doing was so terrible. I think I'm going bald.

I didn't retaliate since I didn't want to add to my feelings of guilt against her. I know she's just acting this way because she believes I'm stealing Haru from her and damaging their relationship.

I adore Haru, but not to the point where I would destroy them for the sake of my sentiments.

"Bettina, stop!" Haru yelled. Bettina and I were swiftly separated by him.

He hugged me while his companions comforted Bettina, who was in pain.

"Are you okay?" Haru said, concerned. While I was straightening my hair, I nodded tearfully.

"Don't touch me, you disgusting idiot!" Bettina said something angrily at Haru's companion. My pal gave her an irritated look.

"Bettina, please stop!" I told you not to hurt Serena, but you didn't listen!" Many students are staring at us, so I'm ashamed of what's going on right now, especially since I know it's going viral because of those who videoed it."

"All I'm doing is teaching her a lesson." Why are you siding with her? "Don't tell me you like her," she said, causing me to bow, but Haru held my chin before forcing me to look at him.

"Yes, I like her, and I'm officially breaking up with you from now on." I can't take your behavior any longer." I seemed to stiffen as a result of what I heard.

We only turned away when we heard the kids gasp after hearing what Haru had said to me.

We both stared at Bettina, who couldn't believe we were staring at her.

Her face became emotionless after that. "I can't believe you chose that b*tch over me," she grinned as she hastily pulled the hands of Haru's pals from her before cautiously approaching us.

"I'll make sure both of you regret this; you messed up Chavilire big time," she said, leaving Haru and myself speechless.

She walked away as if she were the queen.

[Serena's viewpoint]

"Why did you say that to Bettina?" I inquired about Haru. We're in the school garden. Near an ancient, decommissioned structure.

"I really don't mean to say that, but she pushes my buttons; I'm tired of her jealousy; I think this is best for both of us, especially since we're getting married," he said, and I couldn't help but smile.

"So you chose me?" I questioned. He laughed and ruffled my hair.

"The truth is, Serena, I really like you. I'm not sure when it started, but I just felt like I liked you." I gulped one after the other.

I can't believe he likes me; that implies there's still hope for both of us. This is the best day of my life.

"Are you planning to date me?" I asked, quickly looking away due to the embarrassment I felt.

Serena, what is it? Not only does he like you, but he also wants to date you!

His smile had vanished, making me even more uncomfortable. He took my hand in his before staring me in the eyes and adding, "Sorry, but I don't do courting, and we're getting married, right?"

So it just means I don't have to flirt because you're my girlfriend," he said as he kissed my hand again.

I just smiled, even though I was disappointed, and I've never been courted since.

I'm the only girl in the family, so my father and brother are quite severe with me. I expected to feel the same way about Haru, but he's not flirting.

On the other side, I can't help but be delighted because I've had feelings for Haru for a long time, and his confessing them to me is enough to make me happy.

"By the way, please wait for me here; I'm just going to get some food, okay?"" I grinned and nodded.

"All right," he said, and then he was gone.
