ISABELLA
The secret of the night was so heavy in the air as I stood outside the Alpha's den. Also, the weight of the impending revelation was trying to kill me but “the Alpha needs to know,” I said to myself.
Meanwhile, Nadia's face was a big threat to me already because as she said she is not bothered, I could feel that I am in trouble already.
Yes, I know I had declared that the Alpha must hear about the abominable act I saw this night but what will be my fate afterward? Nadia will kill me.
Somehow, I was able to muster courage and was determined to enter inside the Alpha's den no matter what will become of me afterward.
I entered the Alpha's den determined to expose Nadia and her secret lover but unfortunately, it backfired. I stumbled upon her and the Alpha sharing an intimate moment.
I was shocked. I tried to slip away unnoticed but something betrayed my presence — I hit my leg on something.
The Alpha stared at me in anger, “Who is that fool interrupting our special moment?” I stammered, “I am sorry, Alpha Damon. It won't happen again.”
As I made my way out, I felt Nadia's gaze on me. I already know that she grasped the reason for my unexpected intrusion.
As I entered my little house, the darkness seemed to seep into my very bones. Fear took a very strong hold of me but I comforted myself.
Unknowingly to me, Nadia, the architect of deception, followed me like a shadow. Immediately I noticed her presence, the first thing that caught me was her eyes which was already revealing the kind of danger I am in.
“Isabella,” she hissed as the threat hung in the air like a storm ready to unless its fury.
“You better keep your mouth shut or you will regret it,” she said with her voice filled with malice. “Tell the Alpha about Beta Caius and I, and it will be the last thing you will ever say alive.”
“Nadia, I won't let you escape this time. The Alpha deserves the truth and that is non-negotiable. Your empty threats will not deter me,” I said with courage.
The moment I realized the gravity of Nadia's intention was when I sensed something cold against my neck. I turned only to find a knife — Nadia intended to end my life in cold blood.
I was paralyzed by the gravity of her threat because I was alone and defenseless to the extent I felt the walls closing in.
“I won't say anything, please,” I pleaded and surrendered.
Despite my promise to keep silent, Nadia went ahead with her evil plans as the darkness in her heart would eliminate any trace of the truth.
As days passed by, I moved around the pack in silence without knowing that Nadia wasn't comfortable.
One night, I overheard Nadia conspiring with a group of rogue wolves against me. I wasn't surprised because I know that she is willing to go to any length to bury the truth, even if it meant eliminating my existence.
What still baffles me is why she is still planning such evil against me even when I have promised not to tell anyone.
As I walked through the darkness, I sensed danger all around me that even the breeze could feel it. What can a rejected and powerless Omega like me do? Who will fight for me?
I kept walking to my house in fear as I got myself prepared for my uncertain fate.
The wolves she had paid stealthily followed me to carry out their task. I couldn't confront them because the danger was too great. I had no one to turn to and no one to stand by me in the whole pack.
The moment I felt the finality of Nadia's plan was when the wolves carried out their evil plans.
But the Moon, the celestial guardian of secrets, had other plans. Just as the wolves stealthily approached, Alpha Damon, was strolling through the pack territory.
All thanks to the Moon goddess for bringing the Alpha out that night.
“What are you carrying?” The Alpha asked immediately if he saw the two wolves.
They panicked as they struggled to prepare a plausible explanation to give the Alpha but the truth still struggled to break free.
“We were just… just taking her for a walk,” one of the wolves stammered.
The Alpha's expression hardened as they lied. “A walk?” he retorted with disapproval. “Then why would you need to carry her for a walk? Is she crippled?”
The wolves caught in their own lies hesitated but the Alpha commanded that they release me.
“Release her,” he commanded with his voice cutting through the night.
They united me immediately and I felt a surge of liberation. Now, I have found a free opportunity to expose Nadia's secret with Beta Caius.
With the Alpha's gaze on me, I took a deep breath and found the courage to speak the words that would shatter Nadia and her lover.
“Alpha Damon,” I began with my voice steady. “I saw them together. Nadia and Beta Caius. They betrayed you.”
As I saw the Alpha's eyes widened with a mix of surprise and disbelief, I wanted to smile. After all, he betrayed me, but I don't have to pay evil with evil.
“Betrayed?” he asked.
I used the opportunity to recount the night I stumbled upon Nadia and her lover making out.
After my story, he summoned the pack doctor to inspect the bruises inflicted on me by the wolves.
He sent for Nadia and Beta Caius immediately. “Nadia,” he called her name with a mixture of anger and disappointment, “and Beta Caius. There is no place for betrayal in this pack.”
The pack doctor on his own examined my injuries. “She will need time to heal, Alpha. The injuries are many, but with care, she will recover soon.”
Nadia and Beta Caius now had to face the alpha's judgement after being stripped of their deceitful masks.
“You have betrayed the trust of the pack and violated the bonds that hold us together,” Alpha Damon proclaimed. “Nadia, Beta Caius, and your accomplices (the two wolves), you are banished from this pack. Leave and never return.”
