Chapter 5

Bounce’s POV

The boy couldn't speak for a split second as he watched me reject great wealth. But quickly his face became sobered. I didn’t care what people thought about me. What I don't want, I won't take, even if it is the whole world.

"Alpha, you do not understand my plea. I'm not offering you our land as a price but I'm pleading that you should add us to your pack. We need a leader, Alpha, so as much as we need protection,” he pleaded.

I could see his sincerity. It showed plainly in his eyes. I cocked a brow at him and pressed my lips together. What he said was new to me. He was offering me their will.

“Do you know who I am?" I asked him.

I still didn't believe that he knew who I was and still told me to take over their land.

“I know you Alpha and I know what people call you. But it's better to serve a leader that protects its own people. No matter what was said about him" he replied to me with so much confidence.

Looking at him, he should be trying to bargain with me to just save them so he would also become a ruler over the people. His dedication to his pack members moved me a bit.

“I'm not interested," I ignored him.

"Alpha, I'm only a Beta blood, alpha and I wasn't taught so much about war. Moreover a pack needs its Alpha to become stronger. We are in need of a lot. Please come to our aid by leading us" the Beta said enthusiastically.

" I seem to start developing a sudden likeness for this inexperienced Beta" I told my wolf Derek.

" Me too. He seems like he's not one greedy for power" Derek replied.

" But he's weak. He can't even stand my least warrior" I said examining the beta.

" I noticed that but I think it's not because he's really weak but he hasn't been so trained. He's a pup Bounce" Derek said.

That was when I truly noticed that the person standing before me was truly young. This made me frown a bit.

"How old are you?"

The Beta bowed his head shyly. "I'm nineteen Alpha".

"Oh" I grimaced.

"You see, I told you. He's really a child" he said with a grimace.

I glared at the boy. I need to talk to a more mature person, not some sort of a child but I was determined to help them to punish those greedy packs. I do not want his pack.

"How many packs are there between your border and my border?"

My land was so vast that I didn't even know who borders me. I didn't concern myself with those border things because I have a lot to deal with. My time was so precious to me. I knew no one would ever have the nerve to cross my border illegally.

The look on the boy's face was as if he was surprised that I didn't know the answer to the question I asked and I really didn't care. It was my information not his.

"We are the pack that borders you Alpha," he replied.

I look slightly surprised. I didn't even expect him to say that. I looked at one of the guys around me.

"Is that so?" I asked him.

"Yes Alpha," he replied.

"Well if that's the case, go bring the council of elders in your pack to me tomorrow so that we can discuss more about it. I wouldn't want to feel like I cheated you because you had no other choice than to surrender to my condition because you are in need of my help desperately. I don't want your pack. Looking at how weak you are, you will be a burden to me" I said blankly.

I needed to dismiss him so I can at least go have my meal.

Sorrow flowed through the Beta's face. "There is no council of elders, Alpha. Those people started with our council and made sure to kill them. In the family of the leaders I was the only one opportune to survive. They killed all our warriors and guards, especially the stronger ones and their family. Only myself and a few warriors are left" he explained with so much sorrow.

I didn't say anything because now I don't have a choice to help him. What people don't know was that under my brutality was someone who couldn't look away from help.

" Please Alpha, save us and our land. I know we are weak but we can become stronger. We are not lazy people, " he pleaded.

Ignoring them will make me equal to those who hurt them so I had no choice than to concur.

" Hmm" I said. " If that's the case I'll draft an agreement so that you will go give the remnant of your pack. This agreement will serve as our bond and if you breach the contract you will have me to contend with. You sure do know what contending with me is all about'' I said baldly.

" Yes Alpha," he said happily.

I stood up and headed to my dining room which no one shared with me. I was super hungry. On getting there my food was already served and I dug in without talking to anyone.
