"Who exactly is that person?" Mrs. Adams looked at Brianna Diaz with an expression of disbelief. "Are you deceiving me?"
"I'm not deceiving you. If I were, how could I afford the surgery fee, and why would my brother still be in the operating room?" Brianna Diaz spoke helplessly, clasping her hands. Thomas Moore was the one who abducted her last night. How could she tell her? Not to mention how illustrious Thomas Moore was, just the fact that he was a prince who resorted to violence made her reluctant to disclose his identity. She couldn't bear to entangle the benefactor who generously gave her an additional seventy thousand.
"Why didn't you tell me who he is?" After asking for a long time, this girl would always claim ignorance, saying she didn't know or recognize the other party. However, by looking into her eyes, Mrs. Adams could tell she was lying. But if she didn't speak, what could she do?
Mrs. Adams tilted her head and stared at her for a while, then reluctantly shook her head. "Forget it, I won't force you. But let me tell you, this matter isn't over. You stood him up last night, and I got beaten up a bit, but if you want your brother and yourself to live in peace, you must resolve this! I came back alive today because I promised to find you before 8 o'clock in the evening. Tonight, you will come with me to apologize to him. Brianna Diaz, you've deceived me once, I admit it. Don't deceive and harm me again for the second time. Don't make it difficult for us in the future. Tonight, you will accompany me to meet him, apologize sincerely, and if he wants you to stay with him, you'll have to bear it. After all, you're not a virgin anymore. Consider it repaying a debt! We can't afford to offend such a person, and besides, you were at fault first. Do you understand?"
Brianna Diaz nodded. If she promised someone and then didn't go, it was her fault. Now that Mrs. Adams had been beaten up like this, if she didn't go to apologize and make amends, it would probably not be easy for her and Upton Diaz in the future.
When the evening approached, Upton Diaz's surgery finally ended, and the successful outcome was undoubtedly the best comfort for Brianna Diaz.
When Upton Diaz woke up from anesthesia, Brianna Diaz was by his bedside, narrating the bright future ahead. As the clock on the wall showed 7:10 in the evening, Mrs. Adams coughed twice.
Brianna Diaz had to tell Upton Diaz that Mrs. Adams had been injured, and she had to go back to handle some things today. She wanted to go to help Mrs. Adams and asked if he could stay alone for a few hours.
Upton Diaz was a sensible child and agreed upon hearing this, saying he would behave and wait for his sister to come back.
Brianna Diaz escorted Mrs. Adams out of the ward. After entrusting a nurse to take care of Upton Diaz, she and Mrs. Adams went downstairs and hailed a taxi.
"The Grand Ocean Club," Mrs. Adams told the driver the destination. Brianna Diaz inexplicably felt nervous. When the car finally stopped in front of this upscale club, she saw a familiar car, the one with the harpoon.
Could it be him... here?
"Why are you standing there? Haven't you seen a Maserati before?" Mrs. Adams got out of the car, saw Brianna Diaz still staring at the car outside the club, and scolded her impatiently, grabbing her arm and pulling her along.
"Mrs. Adams, please slow down. Your ribs are still..." Brianna Diaz saw her walking hurriedly, her forehead sweaty from pain, feeling deeply apologetic. Mrs. Adams glanced at her upon hearing this. "Remember, no matter what, you must admit everything. Otherwise, we won't have peaceful days in the future!"
Brianna Diaz nodded and helped Mrs. Adams into the club. However, as they entered the club's gate, she still cast a glance at the car, unable to articulate whether she hoped he was there or not.
"I'm here to see Mr. Vincent, I have an appointment. My name is Adams." Upon arrival, Mrs. Adams announced the appointment to the waiter. The waiter promptly led them to the elevator, which took them directly to the third floor.
"Mr. Vincent is in private room number 2. This way, please." After guiding them at the stairwell, the waiter bowed and left. Brianna Diaz saw where she was directed to, a group of people standing and sitting, both men and women. Their attire, while not overly revealing, exuded an air of sensuality. Behind them was a door with the number 302 illuminated by colorful lights.
"Let's go!" Mrs. Adams said, taking a step forward. Brianna Diaz obediently followed. However, as they approached the group of people, suddenly someone smashed a bottle of wine onto the table, instantly splattering wine and glass everywhere, startling Brianna Diaz.
"Isn't this Mrs. Adams? Has that audacious woman finally shown up?" The person spoke, the broken bottle still resting loudly on the marble table, producing a grating sound.
"Owen, my dear!" Mrs. Adams wore a fawning expression. "She's here. I've brought her to apologize to Mr. Vincent. This girl was in a car accident last night and only woke up this morning. It's all a misunderstanding!"
"Misunderstanding?" The man stood up and walked towards Brianna Diaz, brushing aside the people beside him. Mrs. Adams instinctively shielded Brianna Diaz, who shrunk behind her.
"Mrs. Adams, you've usually done us many favors, but last time, you stood us up, and today you're lying," he said, shoving Mrs. Adams aside. Mrs. Adams, already nursing injured ribs, winced in pain and fell down upon being pushed. Brianna Diaz instinctively reached out to help, but her arm was grabbed by the man called Owen. He then stared at Brianna Diaz.
Brianna Diaz had never encountered such a situation before and naturally felt frightened. However, she dared not hide. After all, Mrs. Adams had said that to have a peaceful future, they must resolve this today.
"She's quite the beauty, indeed, but do you think just because you're pretty, you can defy Mr. Vincent?"
"No, I didn't mean that. I really had a car accident last night, I..."
"Smack!" A wine bottle struck Brianna Diaz's head, and wine and glass shards immediately cascaded down. Owen was still in a daze, but the man who smashed the bottle behind Brianna Diaz began to curse. "How could there be no injury from a car accident? I'll teach you a lesson!"
Brianna Diaz's head throbbed with pain. She knew liquid was flowing, carrying a strong scent of alcohol. She was afraid, she wanted to cry, and she desperately wanted to call for help, but when she saw Mrs. Adams vigorously shaking her head, she bit her lip and held back.
The group waited for her to cry out, to scream, but it never came. Just at that moment, the door to room 302 opened, and a woman in a bikini walked out, carrying a small whip in her hand.
"It seems you have some self-awareness and know you're here to apologize." The woman spoke while swaying her hips toward Brianna Diaz. She pushed Owen aside with her hand and glared at the man behind Brianna Diaz who smashed the bottle, then tugged at Brianna Diaz's collar. "What happened after the car accident?"
"I..." Brianna Diaz dared not lie. "I was taken away by a man, and then, then..."
"It seems you've changed your boss. Who was that man?" The woman's crimson lips looked somewhat savage, but she couldn't bring herself to blurt out that name...
"I, I don't know..."
The woman blinked. "Mr. Vincent said, since it was an accident, not an intentional stand-up, he won't hold you accountable. But it's a fact that you've offended him. There has to be a penalty today, so he's giving you two choices, choose for yourself!"
Brianna Diaz, enduring the pain in her head, looked at the woman. "May I ask, what are the two choices?"
"The first one, strip naked here, endure twenty lashes from me, and crawl around this floor like a dog. The second one, lie on this table, and let these brothers here decide a winner. The winner will have you right here!" The woman finished with a slight smile. "Choose for yourself!"
