I groaned loudly praying that whatever was making that annoying sound would just stop. It seemed for a few minutes my prayers were answered. I snuggled deeper into my bed and wrapped my blanket tighter around myself, dozing off. Only a few seconds later, the annoying sound resumed, only this time with full vigour and continuously, not even ending.
I picked up my pillow and wrapped it securely around my head hoping to drown out the noise but who am I kidding.I stretched out my hands, slowly searching for the offending object but I just couldn't find it. I rolled slowly to the side and after an extensive search with my sleep ladened eyes, I picked up the object making the offending noise ready to catapult it to the next realm but I paused just in time to have a little look at it only to see my most prized possession, my phone.
" I can't fling you out the door now can I. You should be lucky I love you, if not you would be lying somewhere half broken by now for disturbing my beauty sleep" I thought sleepily.
I switched off the alarm timer I had previously and with my own hands set and sank back into my bed. I was ready to continue my sleep from where I left off when the sun rays began to seep through my window blinds into my room. The rays played harshly across my face. I kept turning and tossing, looking for the perfect position to sleep away from the sun's harsh rays but it seemed that was not possible. Shoot. Even Mother Nature was conspiring to make my morning difficult. I guess it was better to just get up now else I would really be late.
I wobbled my way into the bathroom, still slightly offended for having been woken up so early. I guess a hot bath would really wake me up. I ran myself a hot bath as I took time to admire the bird nest upon my head. I was always a rough sleeper. When the bath was ready, I sank into it and relaxed, already dreading how today would go. My archenemies at work would already be plotting my downfall as we speak hence I better prepare myself mentally. I shook my head to clear my mind of all my thoughts as I stepped out of the bathroom, rinsed off and proceeded to brush my teeth.
I came out of the bathroom, threw on a pair of ripped baggy blue Jeans and a black turtle necked top, pairing it with black ankle boots. I lazily combed out my wet waist long hair and threw it into a messy bun. At least I looked less zombie(ishh). I was not one for make up so I just applied a lip balm and hoped the cold air out there would bring a little colour to my pale cheeks. I headed into the kitchen to make breakfast.
I passed a long hallway, walking past the dinning room whilst making sure to avoid looking at the living room as I lazily walked into the kitchen.
I walked into the beautifully set kitchen that I always avoided. Everything was still as it was back then. I always avoided every part of this house making sure to leave early for work and return late, grabbing takeouts for dinner on my way back. I quickly swallowed back my tears and shook my head a few times to push back unpleasant memories as I prepared to make breakfast. I checked the time to see it was still 6:30am, I guess I have to put everything together and still be able to be early for work. Caleb, my boss(also doubling as my friend)may sometimes excuse my lateness but I could see the other girls at work were planning my downfall one way or another.
I quickly brought out ingredients for breakfast and whipped together two omelettes, a French toast, a fruit salad and a little casserole dish on the side, packing everything up for takeouts. I quickly checked to see the time. Time was completely against me and I still had to see mom to bring her breakfast.
I speed walked to the park hospital while pulling my backpack tighter against myself to block out the cold I was feeling. I was anticipating for it to be cold out but not this cold. Even with my werewolf abilities, this was still too cold. Humans would probably freeze to death in this weather. I smiled softly at myself as I knew I had to walk fast to beat time and keep myself warm. I smiled inwardly as I approached the pack hospital. I gave a small nod to the receptionist, who only glared at me before resuming caking her already made up face with even more make up. What is her deal.
I speed walked past a few wolves who seemed to be waiting in the waiting area to see their loved ones and I hurried past them to see mom. I couldn't help but notice the nasty glare I got from some of them. I shrugged and worked faster, ignoring them. What you do not know won't hurt you. I sighed deeply mentally preparing myself as I approached my mom's ward.
