My plan to enter their company was a success. Beginning tomorrow, I will be the secretary of Fitzgerald and I have to be careful not to spill out my true identity. I need to fulfil an image as Bella Miller, to eliminate suspicions.
It was a nerve-wracking experience to be interviewed by your nemesis. The thought that I would not get the position made me agitated. My plan would not be carried out if that happens.
I was walking out of the company premises in high spirits while humming in a cheerful tone. I felt ecstatic and I need to celebrate it with ice cream. Too bad, Ellie was not here. She may be happier than me when she knows that I got the job. Well, I need to call her later.
I was contemplating on what would I do next when I collide at a hard surface. Not again! I shut my eyes and reprimand myself for not being careful. I must keep my focus, especially when I'm in a public place.
"I'm sorry Mr," I apologize. Arrggh...Why do I have to apologize to him?!?
The man didn't move but stare at me with wide eyes. I lay my eyes on his face and studied his features. A dirty blonde hair with a marble jaw that was ragged and muscular, and rover-blue eyes.
"Bella Miller," he broke the silence between us. It took me a minute to recognize him. He looks more manly than before. What is his name again? Ashton? No, maybe it's Adam? Or maybe it's Andrei?
"Niñito?" I finally replied, and he chuckled at me.
"Yes, it's me, Adrian. You've.....grown up," he stated, showing me his beaming smile while she patted my head. Now my hair was so messy.
"You too. What are you doing here anyway?" I inquired. He was wearing a suit and he looks dashing in it.
"I have a business to take care of," he simply said.
"What about you? You work here?" He asked while he surveyed me from head to toes.
"Yes, I will start my job tomorrow as a secretary," I said gleefully. Yes, I'm quite excited about working here. Excited to execute my revenge.
"To whom?" his brows knitted.
"The CEO," I uttered. His face turned to grim.
"Too bad," he murmured. I narrowed my eyes at him and before I could ask why his phone rang.
"I've got to go Bella. Nice to meet you here. I hope we can play airsoft again," He stated.
"Maybe someday," I replied smiling, then we did a fist bump.
"See you soon Hermosa," he winked and I chuckled.
He walked away answering his phone and he looks serious. I narrowed my eyes at him. Why did he say that thing? Too bad?
After our short conversation, I went to the nearest grocery store to buy ice cream. It was my favourite stress releasing food.
I was in my apartment eating ice cream and talking to Ellie on a laptop. I was sitting on my king size bed.
"So you've got the job?" Ellie asked.
"Yes, I am now the secretary of Breece Timothy Fitzgerald," I smirked.
"Oh sissy, be careful. He is not an ordinary man," she warned.
"So, am I," I replied.
"By the way, I met Adrian," I said.
"Really?! Who's Adrian again?" Ellie asked while scratching her head.
"The man that you called niñito. We met him at our first airsoft game," her lips were twitching then her eyes snap open.
"Yes! I remember him! The cute guy that you said," she nodded to herself.
"I didn't say that he is cute, but I said that he is pleasing to the eyes," I argued. I will never have a thing to any man. I am a strong and independent woman and I don't need a man in my life.
"What's the difference?" she chuckled.
"Back to the topic Ellie!" I hissed.
"Okay, so you saw Adrian. What now?" she queried while raising her brow.
"He said something odd. I want you to find something about him, please," I pleaded.
"Oh, Gabriela! I'm touched that you think highly of me, but I cannot provide you with any information without knowing his full name or having his picture," she said. I sighed because of disappointment. I was itching to know what did he meant when he said too bad? Did he know Fitzgerald? His reaction was suspicious.
"Never mind. I'll find out who he is soon. But now, I need to focus on my plan Ellie. Tomorrow is my first day of being a secretary," I said.
"You must get his trust first Gab, but it is dangerous. Please be careful sissy," she worried.
"Don't worry Ellie. I will do my best to disclose my identity," I assured.
The day was ended and a new chapter was ready to be written. It was my first day at work, so I have to be early. I don't know why he told me to come exactly at seven, but I know the office hours start from eight.
At about six-fifty in the morning, I was already in the company. I went directly to the tenth floor, where Fitzgerald's office located.
Our office was an adjoining room, so every person that will go to the CEO will be facing me first. It's my advantage, maybe I will have a chance to see the man who killed Dad.
My office was simple, with a grey carpet on the floor, a table and a black swivel chair.
On the other side was the room of my boss. It was somewhat larger and elegant, with white, grey and black hues. His floor was with a grey carpet like mine, and the wall was painted with grey with a small black hanging bookshelf. A painting decor was attached to the wall, with a white frame. It was an abstract painting which I conclude signifies power. His table was black, and also the chair.
I was busy surveying the place when a door at the edge of the room cracked opened. I startled at the place where I'm standing when a man in a business suit appeared. My heart beats drastically when I saw his flawless appearance. I calmed myself and looked down. This is bad, I must control myself.
Fitzgerald walked to his table and sat down. I shuffled in front of him and smiled.
"Good morning sir," I greeted. He nodded and handed me a brown folder.
"Read," he ordered. I must use all the force I have to suppress my irritation to him. I clench my fist at my back and smiled.
"Yes sir, thank you," I said sweetly. He dismissed me by his hand. What a rude man! I turned around and took a step into my office.
I sat down on my chair and read the folder that he gave me. It is a detailed description of my job, what will I do and what will I not. It also contained a map and the name of executives. I hissed while reading it. Being a secretary of an arrogant CEO is not easy.
After a while, a bell rang from Fitzgerald's office. According to the folder that he gave, if he rings the bell, it indicates that he needs something, and I must be in his presence for only five seconds, failure to do will reflect on my performance. What unlawful rules! Who does he think he is?!
I rushed to him keeping my cool composure. He is my boss after all.
"Do you need something, sir?" I asked sweetly.
"Are you done reading it?" he queried without even looking at me. He was busy reading on his laptop.
"Yes, I am sir," I responded. He nodded his head and gave me a bundle of folder from his drawer. It was heavy that I need to lean on the table for support. Bloody hell! This is tyranny! Just wait Fitzgerald, the time will come that you kneel at me, but for now, I will follow your orders.
"Sort those documents according to date and encode it to your laptop that was in your drawer, then organize my schedule," he ordered placing a black organizer at the top of folders.
"As you wish sir," I said turning away. I gritted my teeth as I walked to my table. These folders are heavy!
I was still in the middle of organizing when a bell rang again. I hurried to him, I know he was counting from one to five. He was busy typing on his laptop.
"What is it, sir?" I questioned.
"Coffee," he ordered without gazing at me. I smiled politely but inside me, I want to strangle him.
"What kind of coffee sir?" I queried.
"Black," he answered. So he has a thing with black.
"Five minutes," he said in dismissing voice. This tyrant is getting to my nerves!
"Yes sir," I replied.
It was not hard to find the cafeteria 'cos of the maps that I studied attached to the folder. Good thing a had a good memory, but my patience was slowly burning. He was being tough on me on my first day, and I bet he was doing it on purpose. Maybe he wants to test me, but sorry for him. I'm not the kind of girl that gives up easily.
It was already four in the afternoon and my energy already drained because of works. I arranged his schedules and contacted some important investors for the meeting. I also organized his humongous files and at the same time tried to gather some information that related to my father's death, but I found none.
I sighed as I bowed my head and shut my eyes when another bell rang. I hurried and went to him. He was standing behind his table and I felt intimidated by his heights.
"You can go now. Report tomorrow at exactly eight in the morning," he demanded, and with that, he strides out of the office and left me alone.
Weeks had passed and I am still working for Fitzgerald. I was with him with his meetings and I'm becoming good at my job as a secretary, but still, I don't have any evidence or clue about the killer of my Dad. I tried to gain his trust and be closed to him to draw a piece of information but he is like air, difficult to grasp.
It was my day off and I was in my apartment talking to Ellie on a video call. I've been busy these last weeks and don't have time to talk to her.
"Arggh! I felt desperate Ellie! It was already three weeks but I found nothing!" I hissed at the laptop where Ellie's face was.
"Oh sissy, relax and think something alternative," she advised. She was blowing her fingernails with newly applied nail polish.
"I'm not getting anywhere! Maybe I should resign and find other ways," I frowned. Ellie stop blowing her nails and looked at me.
"That would be a waste of effort Gab. Gain his trust and it would be easy" she opposed.
"What should I do? He won't even talk to me without bossing me around! He won't even look at me if not necessary 'cos it would be a waste of his time. He is a tyrant Ellie!" I gritted my teeth with thoughts of him. Ellie's lips twitched and a silly smiled appeared on her face.
"Well, that is easy," she stated.
"Tell me, Ellie, what is it in the head of yours," I demanded. I waited for her answer but she was just smiling.
"Please," I pleaded.
"You're irresistibly gorgeous Gab," she finally spoke wearing her toothy grin.
"Yes, I am Ellie," I replied irritatedly. She chuckled and I lifted my brow.
"Don't stray the subject Elizabeth! So what is your idea?! Please tell me," I gave up. This little vixen was making my head swirled.
"You can seduce him," she suggested with a wicked smile.
