And exactly after five minutes, I heard the doorbell.
That was fast
As expected, it was Raymond standing on the doorstep. I greeted him and gestured him to move inside and he followed my directions. As we were making our way towards the dining room I saw mom coming out of the kitchen.
Great. Just great.
Ohh mom please don't embarrass me.
"Hello, young man," Mom said in a chirpy voice. I seriously hope that mom doesn't bring that date topic in front of him. Geez, that'll be so embarrassing. She actually thinks that it was a date and mind you, IT WASN'T.
As Raymond said it was simple school business. That's it.
"Hello, Mrs. Esinberg. Nice to meet you." Ray said in a calm tone, his lips stretched into a small smile.
"I must say he is really handsome, Soaf." Mom said looking at me. Like literally, looking straight at me.
This is not good.
I knew it something will go wrong! I had intuition. Now he will think that I'm another of his fangirls crushing after him, maybe he'll stop talking to me then. I'll lose my only friend!
I had this nervous expression plastered at every inch of my face and although I tried to hide, it was evident on my face. I just giggled a bit not to show it.
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Esinberg, but I must say you are looking beautiful yourself," Ray said with a glint of amusement pooling inside his eyes.
"Aww call me Ellie." Mom said still smiling. She turned to me again and said: "I already like him, Soaf."
Obviously Mom. He's trying to please you.
Mom again turned to Ray and mumbled something.
And then she said it.
"Thank you for taking Soaf on a date, Raymond. She seriously needs someone. You see, she has no friends." Mom said, her eyes hopeful.
Oh Mom. Why are you doing this?
"MOM- tha" I was cut in the middle of my sentence by Ray as he started to reply.
"My pleasure, Ellie. I would like to take her to another date if you permit" He asked.
What is he doing? First of all that wasn't even a date that was simple school business.
"Yeah sure" Mom replied.
I tried not to panic and told mom that we are going to the dining room and Ray is here to help Mike.
We started walking towards the dining room and when Ray started teasing me. I was kind of prepared for it.
"So date huh?" He said smirking, his orbs absorbed the view of our dining room.
"I-I am sorry Ray. I told mom that wasn't a date but I don't know, she's not ready to believe me. I am so sorr-"
Ray cut me off in between. "Princess, I was just kidding. Why are you giving me explanations anyway? Just chill, I was kidding that's it. Don't apologize, okay? It's no one's fault. Also, it was kind of a date, right?" Ray said smiling as we now sat on the dining table.
I was still shocked by his last words. I told Raymond that Mike wanted Raymond to teach him Maths, it was embarrassing for me as I was supposed to be teaching him but thanks to Mr. Popular now Mike thinks he's a better teacher.
I don't even get it. Raymond Reynolds who doesn't even submits his assignments on time and moreover, he finds them difficult plus he is not good at studies can teach a 10th-grade boy so well.
Isn't that weird?
Though Ray seemed to be happy I don't know why but I felt good looking him like that. While he was teaching Mike he had this amazing smile on his face with those twinkling eyes and the ways he looked was something I cannot even explain. His blue hazel eyes, his dirty blonde hair looked like a mess but it only enhanced his looks. His perfect jaw cut and-
Wait a second. I am checking him out Ohh god.
What happened to you Soaf?
What are you doing!
Stop Soaf, stop it.
