Chapter 8

I flutter my eyes open and instantly the light above me burns. I scrunch my nose and try to bring my arm up to cover my eyes but, the sound of metal grinding against metal stops my arm from going anywhere.

I look around the small white room. It has one barred up window, a small sink, toilet and a little bed that closely resembles a hospital bed. As I stare at my surroundings the events of last night come running back and I feel myself begin to panic. I pull hard against the handcuffs keeping me locked to this small bed with scratchy white linen.

Just as I am about to get frustrated a small female chuckle sounds just at the door. I look up and my breath catches in my throat, I feel acidic bile begin to rise from my stomach.

"Oh, darlin' you look like you've seen a ghost." I feel the euphoria swirling around my head and the room begins to feel very small and very hot.

"Who the hell are you?" I hear the coarseness of my voice and physically cringe. She laughs and walks towards me taking a seat at the foot of my small bed.

"Damn, they really did brainwash ya if you don't know who I am." I crinkle my eyebrows together and tilt my head to the side studying her familiar expressions. Her stormy grey eyes look exactly like mine the only difference is she looks slightly older with thick red hair that curls wildly. I shake my head all this shit just keeps piling up, all this confusion is giving me a headache.

"What do you mean." She smiles warmly and reaches for my hands.

"I'm your sister beautiful, it was a fluke that I even found you really. I was scouting the area you were in specifically that bar. We have had some werewolf activity there that I did not like so I was just checking it out. I saw you run out of the bar and you looked so familiar and then I see it, that surge of power the familiar lightning strike that you use to do all the time growing up. Its why they wanted you so bad, its why she was so quick to give you away." I feel like I have been shot in the stomach.

"Why am I restrained." Is all I manage to get out. She quickly reaches into her pocket and produces a small silver key. She unlocks the cuffs from my hands, and I rub the raw spots on my wrists.

"I haven't seen you since you were five."

"What do you mean, I was dropped off at the orphanage when I was a baby."

"When do you remember anything from your past."

"I don't remember anything until I was 6 living in my first foster home. That was the first time I was abused." I stare at her, her stormy eyes looking back at me. A mirror of my own but, my hair is the only difference.

“They made you forget; you don’t remember because someone used magic to take away your memories.”

“Who, who would do that.”

“Our mother wanted you to forget so that you wouldn’t be found. She gave you sold you to keep you away from the coven. We suspect that Eric Hennesey was the one that helped take your memories.”

I hear the name and my stomach churns. I get up and rush towards the toilet, nothing comes up as I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday morning. I feel my sister come up behind me and press a hand to my back. I sit back up and pull myself away from her to sit against the wall.

“You’re lying.”
