PROLOGUE

Elara's POV

"I would never harm anyone, Lola. What are you talking about?" I pleaded with my best friend as she advanced towards me.

She responded, "I know you wouldn't, but he doesn't, and this is the perfect chance for me to get you out of my way." I took steps backward, torn between not wanting to hurt my friend and realising her intentions.

She, a beta, was much stronger than my omega wolf. She looked entranced, having just torn apart a man in the woods.

"Listen, Lola, you can fight whatever this is." I implored.

She retorted, "Fight what? Are you just too kind or a stupid bitch?"

She accused me of a crime she had committed, pushing me against a tree. I desperately tried to reason with her.

"My mate knows I could never hurt anyone and you're the one covered in blood."

She continued to approach, her human form now revealed.

"Your mate! You're fucking annoying. Well not for long. You did this, Elara. Why? I thought I was your best friend." she accused in a mocking tone, pushing me against the tree again as this time I was still on the grass.

Helpless, I watched her go to the man she had killed, frozen in a half-transition. She scratched herself with his claws and brandished his knife.

"What are you doing?" I asked, attempting to stand but falling back.

"You did this Elara." she mocked, approaching with the raised knife. Desperation in my voice, I pleaded.

"Lola, please fight this." Looking into her eyes, I noticed a celestial gold colour, realising she wasn't a wolf but a witch.

I barely had time to regret my blindness when she kicked me hard, and as she raised the knife, I tried to stand before she could harm me further.

She stuck the knife into her own arm, and we both screamed, me in fear and her in pain, she intentionally hurt herself.

Alpha Aiden arrived just in time.

"Noo!" he screamed, rushing towards Lola.

She claimed I attacked a man and accused her of stealing my mate, she also added that I was a witch.

Alpha Aiden, seemingly convinced, had his guards drag me to the car so they could take me to prison. He also mentioned tomorrow I will appear in court for trial, while he embraced Lola, his attention fully on her.

The betrayal stung, especially as I reflected on how I had saved Lola from a rogue attack and pleaded for her to stay in Alpha Aiden's pack.

Now, I faced judgement, uncertain of the true motivations behind this sudden turn of events.

I was thrown in the back of the guard's car. One of the guards slapped me hard across my face maybe to keep me weak as I could taste blood.

Alpha Aiden ~my own mate, didn't give a shit about me; he just focussed on Lola who was pretending to be hurt, well she was injured but she caused the injuries herself.

With Alpha Aidens’ orders they drove off after injecting the silverbane in me to prevent me transitioning.

Alpha Aiden and some of the guards drove to the hospital, I overheard Alpha Aiden instruct the guard who played the driver role. Two came with me, the rest went with them.

I was pretending to have lost conscious when I heard the guards discuss.

"Why don't we have a little fun with her before we take her to prison, the Alpha already tossed her." he suggested.

"Oh that will be a great idea but Alpha Aiden haven't rejected her yet." he opposed although not sounding like it wasn't a bad idea.

"Not yet, but he will reject her soon enough and no one is going to tell him anything."

"He doesn't give a shit about her at this point." he convinced, making me realise he was right. This past few months after I turned eighteen and refused to mate with him, he hasn't paid much attention to me. I rarely even get to spend time with him.

Suddenly the car pulled over snapping me out of my thoughts, with the two guards coming out and they dragged me out with so much force that my shirt was now torn apart.

One of them finished tearing my shirt leaving me in a bra saying it was better without it. I pleaded and screamed for help but that only earned me a slap on my face from one of the guards.

My legs were shaky and tired. They were dragging me like an animal, yes I was an animal but I couldn't take that pain my wolf wasn't strong enough to.

She was a bit strong when Aiden and I were on good terms but now she was just there, especially with my sister's death (a month ago) she really was down so now I was like woofless and mateless.

Finally as we reached in the woods a bit distance from the car, which they parked just by the road, one guard pushed me which landed me on the ground this time my back was on the grass.

"I've always wanted to have way with you." he said with a disgusting desire, as he undid his zip. the other held my wrists as I was struggling.

"No! please!" I pleaded this time I couldn't tell if it was tears on my face or water.

I used my legs to kick in the air hoping it would stop the guy from doing what he planned to do.

That is when the guard holding my wrists held them with one hand and used the other to slap me so hard that my leg movements stopped.

I felt the pain through my ears too.

"Better, now hurry up before someone comes here." The guard said looking at my weak body, his friend now parted my legs and kneeled between them. He placed his disgusting hands between my legs and tore my panties.

"Your pussy looks good, I can't wait for my wolf to tear it up." he added as he removed his dick, that's when we heard a howling sound of an animal.

"Be quick, there's an animal heading our way." the one holding my hand seemed determined, but the other hesitated as he shoved his dick away as the howl of the animal continued.

"Awoooo!! grrrrrrr!!" this time sounding like it was close by.

It wasn’t a normal wolf for sure.

"We need to go now!" The guard holding my hand said as he left my hands and prepared to leave.

“What about her? We can't just leave her here." the other guard said, zipping up his trouser.

"Yes we can, that way we can save time by not driving to prison." with that said he kicked me hard in my ribs and they left literally running.

The howling continued but this time with a different voice.

"Rrrrrrrr!"

In the woods they were so many dangerous animals that I knew for sure.

I tried to stand but I couldn't and I could see an animal approaching me. It was not a wolf but a lycan I recognized due to its humanoid muscular figure. I knew there was no chance for me even if I tried to run as this was the same creature responsible for all the killings in the woods.

I just closed my eyes waiting for death to consume me, maybe I'll finally reunite with my sister and parents in the afterlife.
