Banished.

Elena's POV.

Few hours later, the door was pulled open again, this time, it wasn't Killian but the guards.

They took turns casting me disgusting looks as they walked into the cell.

"Get up, it's time to face the council," one of them spoke up, his voice laced with so much hatred.

I nodded weakly, having no strength left in me for further reaction.

Biting down on my lower lip to pass on strength, I pushed myself to my feet and followed them out.

My heart thumped alarmingly fast as each step brought us closer to the council hall.

But then I was beginning to accept my faith, whatever the council rules off to be my verdict, I shall accept without further debate, but one thing I would never do is agree to a crime I never committed all because of lesser punishment.

Arriving at the judgment hall, my eyes flew wide open in shock, surprised to behold how filled up it was, closely half the entire pack was present; how eager they were to witness my cruel verdict.

Their murmurs flooded my ears as I sauntered past them towards the council.

Standing tall between the council was Killian, our gaze suddenly collided and I could have sworn there was a little hint of tenderness laced in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared as soon as it came, replaced once again with rage and terror.

He stepped forward, raising his hands in the air, and waved the crowd to absolute silence.

"I do not have enough time to lavish, so I'm just going to ask straightforwardly Elena Salvador, you've been caught in the act of hurting a bunch of wolves, do you plead guilty to committing such evil?" His voice sounded through the hall.

I hurled my palms into a tight fist, trying not to break down in the midst of this crowd which had gathered to watch my downfall.

"No, I do not plead guilty to this crime that I've been accused of, I didn't, and I would never do a thing like that," I breathed out.

Just as if the crowd was waiting patiently for me to say a word, a loud uproar immediately broke out from them, screaming to the hearing of Killian not to believe me.

Amidst the uproar, my gaze fell on Killian, he looked uncertain and for a split second, I thought I saw pity reflect in his eyes but it vanished as quick as it came, replaced yet again by his hard glares.

"Like I said, I do not have the luxury of time to lavish on this case, since you won't acknowledge the truth and stand a chance of lesser punishment, I'm left with no choice but to punish you accordingly for your crime,"

My hands quivered uncontrollably as he spoke, my teeth clenched and my heart beating hard in my chest as I awaited my punishment.

*Present day*

I reached out weakly and grabbed Killian's legs as he made to turn around and walk away, he couldn't possibly turn his back on me this way, our story shouldn't end like this.

The guards rushed towards us, forcefully disentangling my hands wrapped around his leg.

"Escort her to the pack boundary and make sure she never returns," he instructed the guards; and with that, he hurried out of the hall without sparing me a second glance.

I sunk to the floor dejectedly, the sore trauma of Killian's rejection and banishment blew heavily at me.

I couldn't believe it was all over before it barely even started, our story, our bond, all gone in a flash.

I've never felt so empty in my whole life.

"Time to leave," one of the guards spat, walking closer to me.

I felt numb, unable to move as little as my finger, I heard him draw out a long sigh reaching out and forcefully yanked me up from the floor, leading me toward the door.

Barely making our way through the door, a figure suddenly popped out from a corner, standing right before me; it took me a few seconds before the blurred figure became clearer.

It was Aria standing before me with a victorious smile tugged on her lips.

"So much for being the future Luna huh?"

I stared blankly at her without saying a word, I needed my strength to find a way out of the pack.

"Next time, have your amount of power checked before standing up to someone," she clicked her tongue mockingly and walked away.

I felt the guard's grip on me tighten yet again, resuming our journey out of the pack; the few people we came across had nothing but disgust in their eyes while hurling distasteful words at me.

None of that mattered to me, all I could think about was my possible offense to the moon goodness for cursing me with such cruel faith, why give me a gleam of hope only to dash it against the mud? Why let something that was supposed to end in triumph take such a tragic turn?

I sniffed back my tears, weakly wiping the rest with the back of my palms as the guards continued pushing me toward the pack boundary.

Each step brought us closer to the boundary, suddenly I felt the guard's grip on me loosen and next thing, a heavy force struck me through the back kicking me hard against the floor.

A sharp groan fled my mouth as I tried to take in the agonizing pain coursing through me.

Almost immediately, a loud roar of laughter filtered into my ears causing me to look up weakly.

It was the guards that had pushed me to the floor, as we've gotten to the pack boundary.

"I'm sorry, did that hurt?" One of them blurted out and they bursted into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.

"You can find your way from here, I doubt you'll barely make it out alive anyway," another one of them chirped in, and with that, they walked away, their mocking laughter echoing through the woods.
