The 100

I AM OFFICIALLY 18 YEARS OLD

This could only mean one thing, a death sentence ordered by my own father. I had a small chance of surviving if my trial could go right, but with my level of optimism I doubt it would go right due to the population in the Ark. My life in the Ark was over the day my mother got floated, meaning getting into multiple fights with the guards and petty crimes such as stealing. Sitting in the centre of the small cell, I've missed the outside of here but my time has come and I will be seeing my mother soon.

The sound of my cell door opened, revealing my panicked father and David Miller the only guard I actually like on the Ark. The look on both their faces swelled my anxiety but also hatred that I'm seeing my father since he locked me up. But, I still didn't have my hearing.

"Isla, you've got to listen to me," My father took a hold of my cheeks, I tugged away his hands away. I guess you could say I'm not the biggest fan of my father.

A sudden panic yelled across everyones cell. "Just know that everything I did, was for you." He said before David clutched my arms.

Now I started to panic.

"We're all going to die right now." I cried. "I still haven't had my hearing!" I shouted at David as he dragged me out of my cell but I rejected. "What are you going to do?!"

"David!" My father yelled, he stopped as my father ran closer to me. "You are not going to die. You're being sent to the ground."

At this point I was so shocked and bewildered that David took me away without any struggle.

Stuck in an uncomfortable seat with the rest of the hundred, I sat next to Jasper and Monty. My head was bombarded with questions to understand why they would send teenagers to the Ground. This all made sense why they made us go to Earth skill classes, but I didn't know they would actually take us there.

Jaha appeared on the screen making everyone turn their heads.

"Prisoners of The Ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance, and as your, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you, but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself."

Is he kidding? The reason why I'm sitting here waiting for my death is trying to stop my mother from being killed. Preventing a death is now a crime?

"We have no idea what is waiting for you down there. If the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."

"Your dads a dick, Wells!" Some delinquent shouted, I watch Wells giving the death glare at the boy this made me snicker until some other delinquent took his seatbelt off to float around.

"Check it out. Your dad floated me, after all." He looked oddly familiar but I brushed it off. Watching him float gave me a sense of urge to do it myself but I know I'm not that stupid to take my seatbelt off.

The girl sitting beside Wells wasn't having it. "Hey, you two, stay put if you want to live." I huffed at her, knowing she's right but two other blokes took their seatbelt's off. The ship started to jerk harshly and the boy sat back down. Suddenly, a shriek erupted out of my mouth, holding Jaspers hand securely. I shut my eyes tightly hoping the screams and cries will end which later did with the groaning of the ship.

My seatbelt unbuckled, I felt a sharp pain in my head, touching it I winced. "Jasper?" I called. I saw him and I felt easy, we've always been so close almost like a brother because no one understands me the way he does.

"Hey, I'm here." He picks me up from the ground and see a bunch of teenagers everywhere.

Someone screamed from the back, "The outer door is on the lower level. Let's go." At first, I wanted to run there and leave but Jasper stops me lowering down to my height.

"The air could be toxic." He reminded me but I sighed at him.

"We're all going to die anyway." I told him brushing past him but a girl stops in front of me frozen almost as she focuses on a guy whom is in front of her.

"Bellamy?" She sounded in disbelief, they both collided into a hug which all then hit to me. She's the girl who was hiding under the floor for sixteen years. That makes sense, they're both siblings.

My father wouldn't stop talking about her once she was caught. I always thought the rule was stupid but the punishment should never be death, I sympathised once her mother got floated.

"That's Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden in the floor." A female delinquent took the words out of my mouth. Octavia clearly didn't like it, as she tried to let go of Bellamy's arm to defeat her.

"Octavia, Octavia, no. Let's give them something else to remember you by." Her brother stopped.

"Yeah? Like what?" She eyebrow rose up.

I think I know what the answer could be.

"Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years."

I was right.

I could feel everyones anticipation and nerves when Octavia pulled the lever. All we could all see was green, just how I imagined it, giving one last glance to Bellamy Octavia took her first step into Earth exhaling. Octavia rose both her hands before screaming.

"We're back, bitches!"
