Chapter 5: Sir Richard

Cristine’s POV

“Perfect.”

I looked at my reflection in the mirror in front of me. I was wearing a dark green asymmetric neckline top and leather pants paired with my black bondage boots.

I also put on some light makeup and tied my hair into a ponytail. I’m so tired of wearing those old clothes at the mansion. I love how I look now.

I’m here at the mall. Tonight I’m going to meet Miko at the bar and gather some information about Jannah.

I immediately get out of the dressing room and wait for a taxi outside the mall. The bar was not that far, so I arrived at exactly 10:00 p.m.

As I entered, loud music welcomed me.

People are dancing around under the influence.

The smell of alcohol lingers in my nose.

I already saw him at one of the tables with two women. He was drinking while making out with them, but when he saw me, he immediately pushed away those girls and stood up.

He was tipsy.

“Cristine! I’m glad you came,” he said, having difficulty standing straight.

“You’re drunk.”

He offered me the seat beside him, and I sat down there. He poured some liqueur into the old-fashioned glass and handed it to me.

“I didn’t know that you have a gorgeous body,” he whispered in my ears as he sniffed my neck.

I drank the liqueur and winced because of the taste of it.

His hands were touching different parts of my body. His left hand was caressing my breast while his other hand was touching my face. Seconds later, he reached for my lips and kissed them. He French kissed me with his expert tongue.

I pushed him, which made him look at me with disappointment. He was about to reach my lips again, but I covered his mouth.

“I’m going to ask you some questions before anything else.”

He pushed me and opened a new bottle of beer before he leaned back in his seat.

“Feel free to ask me anything,” he said, drinking.

“Who is Jannah Villamor?”

He looked at me.

“Oh, that girl. I know her. She’s Aron’s childhood sweetheart.” He laughed and drank again.

I knew it.

My suspicions were right—Jannah was special to him.

“Is she his girlfriend?”

“Nah, they never became lovers. They had a mutual understanding, but Jannah went to Italy to study. Up until now, Aron was waiting for her to come back even though he has no communication with her anymore.”

Miko shook his head and drank the remaining liquid inside the bottle before opening another bottle of beer again.

I don’t know if alcohol was already running through his blood. I looked at the table and saw how many empty bottles of beer were there. In my estimation...

17?

I turned my gaze on him.

“Do you think she will come back?”

“Tss, she’s famous now. I could say that she doesn’t need Aron anymore. And besides, even if she comes back or not, I don’t care about them.”

I nodded. He doesn’t know that much.

I stood up and walked away. I even heard him call my name, but because he was drunk, he fell to the ground and took a long nap while kissing the floor.

**

I climb the fence of Quizon’s mansion and let myself in. The whole mansion was already quite dark.

It’s already midnight, and I am now wearing my old clothes. I have the keys to the door in the backyard, so I let them in without hassle.

I was on my way to the maid’s room when I heard a voice from the dining area.

“I didn’t know that my son hired maids that sneak out in the middle of the night.”

My body seemed like a cold corpse when I recognized the owner of that voice.

He’s still awake!

I heard his footsteps as he walked in my direction. He stood in front of me, and I remained looking at the floor.

“Good evening, Sir Rich. "I didn’t know that you were still awake, sir.” My voice stuttered, and I could feel my hands sweating because of nervousness.

“Where did you go?”

I can’t tell him that I go to the bar. He could fire me, and my mission will fail, if ever. I can’t fail right now.

“From my friend’s house, sir." She invited me to her birthday.”

He became silent for a few seconds. He was weighing whether I was telling the truth or not.

Fortunately, I didn’t drink too much, because if I did, he would smell the alcohol in me, and I'd be done.

Dead air fills the place where we are right now. But seconds later, he just walked past me like nothing had happened. I heard his footsteps upstairs, and I followed him with my stare.

Before he stepped on the last tread, he looked at me like he was telling me that he was watching me.

His eyes, even if they were too dark, were too clear in my naked eyes. He doesn’t like me. I could sense that.

I looked down and immediately entered our room.

Third Person’s POV

Aron was sleeping peacefully on his bed. He was so tired of his long day of work that going to bed was the best treat he could give himself.

His whole room was so quiet that only the sound of the air conditioner could be heard, as well as the heavy breath that was coming from him.

His door opened slowly, and someone came in.

Walking one by one, trying not to make any noise that could awaken him.

The person smiled widely when it reached Aron. The person gets the knife hiding from its back.

The knife was sharp and shining when a small touch of light coming from the window met the surface of it.

Aron jolted awake when he felt like someone was standing next to him, and he was surprised when he saw a knife that was about to hit his head.

“Fuck!”

His sleeping body suddenly woke up from a nightmare. He was catching his breath, and sweat was flowing from his neck down to his chest.

“Argh!” Aron messed up his hair and covered his ears because of the continuous knocking on his door.

He stood up and marched towards the door.

“What the fuck do you need?" He opened the door and saw the person who was disturbing his morning.
