Chapter 5.

Alison’s POV.

Valerie and I come busting into the kitchen in a fit of giggles, I only just met this girl and I love her, She reminds me so much of Emily. Excited, bubbly and always happy. They would get along great, I think to myself as a sudden feeling of sorrow covers me when I remember she’s not with me.

"So, who are you?" Valerie asks bluntly catching my attention. "I don’t mean to be rude, but they have brought many girls back over the years and normally they are available to the unmated males in the pack house, Alpha Evans allows them to live in the pack house freely and takes care of them as they work for the warriors.” She states looking to the floor as she talks. “But I heard the Alpha instruct the males not to touch you, and he seemed super happy today which has been rare lately." She says with a smile and I look at her in confusion.

“In my town, there are legends about the wolves, so I went out looking for them. Are you a wolf?" I ask softly waiting for her response.

"Yes, my father was the last beta, I took his place last year." She says proudly. “Well I was an orphan, and the beta adopted me as a baby. In all honesty, I hate the beta job.” She says as her pride fades.

"What’s a beta?" I ask in confusion, not really understanding.

"A beta is the second in command to the Alpha." She goes on to explain. "If the Alpha is away or preoccupied the beta can step in to make decisions for the pack." She tells me as she walks over to the fridge pulling out multiple kinds of meat and cheese.

"What’s the Alpha like?" I ask quietly, nervous to pry.

"He’s amazing." She answers as a smile crosses her face. "He’s loyal to the pack and has truly followed in his father’s footsteps. He’s the sweetest guy I’ve ever met, and an amazing Alpha, he’s taken care of all of us since he was 16. He took over a few years ago when the Alpha and Luna died in an accident." She says quietly as her eyes sink and sorrow fills the room.

"He had just turned 16 when it happened, he took over the Alpha duties and had to defend his title on multiple occasions. Everyone thought he wasn’t old enough or mature enough to be ready to lead, yet he proved them wrong." She says tilting her head as she cuts the cheese and sets it on a plate I nod smiling at her as I have butterflies fluttering inside of me listening to her talk about the Alpha with such admiration. Maybe he isn’t that bad I think to myself.

We finish making up the plate of meat, cheese, and crackers, make a small salad and sit to eat when 3 large men walk into the kitchen chatting with each other their eyes snap to me and my body stiffens as my anxiety rises.

"There you are." Says the tall one sickly smiling at me.

"We’ve been looking for some fun for a while now, and Emmett said you were lots of fun." He says walking closer to me as my muscles clench and I can’t breathe.

"The Alpha has declared her off-limits boys, sorry," Valerie responds in a snarky voice making me giggle. We finish eating quickly as the boys dig through the fridge loudly. When we are done Valerie grabs my hand guiding me out of the room, I hear them all groan in disappointment as the door closes behind us.

"Jeez!" Valerie says looking at me wide-eyed and laughing as we walk into the next room.

"This is the great room." She says, I look around and see multiple couches around the room mostly facing a large tv hung on the wall. A huge pool table sits in the middle of the room and there’s a gorgeous black bar off to the side. The whole room is surrounded by large windows, and the floors are all peach-coloured tiles and they are stunning.

"It’s beautiful," I say as she giggles and we keep walking through the huge house.

"A lot of the wolves in the pack live in this house." She explains as we walk. "Some who have been abandoned or orphaned, others are warriors, the maids and cooks also live in the pack house, it’s honestly mostly bedrooms." She states shrugging and we continue to walk down lots of hallways as Valerie keeps going on about what wolves sleep where and I zone out not paying attention.

The Alpha’s room is across from mine so he’s able to keep an eye on me. We laugh and joke the whole time as we walk through the house, we finally make it outside to see a big beautiful courtyard. There is a tall wolf fountain, around it are 4 large cement pillars with ivy growing up them and small lights strung around the top making it seem so mystical. At the bottom of the pillars are large rose bushes all blooming with bright-coloured flowers.

"This is my favourite place," Valerie says walking to the stone benches. "I love coming here to read and relax after training." She says with a big smile as we sit on the big stone bench talking about our likes and dislikes and getting to know each other. I feel a strong connection with her, I think were going to be very close friends. Soon the darkness starts to roll in and she decides to walk me back to my room.

I step through my bedroom door taking my clothes off letting them fall to the ground as a wave of sadness washes over me. Meeting Valerie just made me miss Emily so much more. Tears fall from my face as I walk into my bathroom and turn on the taps to the shower. I stare at myself in the mirror moving my hair from my face, my eyes look tired as I touch them softly. My gaze trails down to the mark on my neck, it’s healed into a scar now and there’s no blood around it anymore. That was fast I think to myself.

I pull the curtain aside and jump into the shower letting the hot water run over my body consuming me. I love hot showers they always make me feel so clear and new like the water washes away the troubles of the day relaxing my mind and body. I wash my hair as my mind drifts back to Emily, I wonder what she’s doing right now, I hope she’s ok I think to myself as my mind flashes back to last night. It was a loud blood-churning scream that I heard, I hope Alpha Evans can find her. I get wet just thinking about him, fuck he’s hot I continue lost in thought.

I finish rinsing off and stepping out of the big claw foot tub. Grabbing a towel I dry my body and toss my hair up, I walk out of the bedroom fully naked. I see the bright glow of the moon through the big windows as a breeze blows in making me shiver and I feel my exposed nipples harden at the cold air. I walk over closing the window as I hear the door open the Alpha walks in and I smile sweetly at him.

"How was your day? Did Valerie show you around?" He asks and I nod in response. "It was good, I like your house it’s truly beautiful. I did take some of your clothes though.” I say pointing to the pile of clothes in the corner of the room. "I hope you don’t mind," I say softly as his aura calms my body making my heart rhythm slow, he chuckles. "I’ll have Valerie take you shopping tomorrow." He says walking over to me and undoing his pants.

I drop to my knees not breaking eye contact knowing exactly what he wants. His pants slide down as his large member bounces in front of me already growing, his hand gently goes into my hair as I wrap my fingers around him. holding him firmly pulling his length to me, I flick my tongue across his head teasing him before moving my lips further down his shaft making him groan loudly.
