Chapter Five

My heart was instantly shattered the moment Mike and his parents left the ward, leaving just me and my parents, who were both gawking and glaring daggers at me.

Mom was looking utterly disappointed, and Dad was looking engraved and somewhat disgraced.

Somehow, I could understand why Mom was really mad and angry about this whole scenario. Mom is a typical Christian, and such acts seem like an abomination to her.

But why can't she trust me? Why don't they believe I never did such a thing? I'm their daughter; they should know and understand me better than anyone else. So why aren't they supporting me? Is there perhaps something I don't know of? Are Mom and Dad hiding something from me?

Just as I was about to open my mouth to ask what was piling up in my heart, Dad's angry voice resounded through the entire room.

"Are you happy now? You've ruined our entire lives; you must be over the moon." He yelled, and I shivered in fright because I'd never seen Dad so angry before.

"Dad, why would you say such a thing? I didn't ruin anyone's life. It was my life that was ruined. He killed our baby. He killed my baby. He is a murderer, and you both are letting him go, Scott free."

"I should be the disappointed one here. You both don't trust me; why? Just tell me why. And you... you also believed I was the lady in the picture.

You both raised me; you ought to know me better than anyone else,"

I yelled as tears spilled down my face, but all I got in return was a scoff from them.

"If the baby is dead, then let it die!; How dare a bitch like you blame Mike? Do you even know who he is? He doesn't want the baby, so it's only best for the baby to die," Dad responded as he snarled at me.

My eyes widened; it felt like an electric current was sent to my brain, and my stomach convulsed as I tried to comprehend what dad just said while clutching tightly to my Tommy.

I can't believe a dad would say such a thing. The baby was going to be his first grandchild, for crying out loud.

That was my baby, and I don't care if Mike wanted it, but I do; I love my baby and would love to have it, but they took that chance away from me. And Dad still tells me this?

My eyes turned red as I choked on my tears.

"The Huxleys were willing to help build our company to its highest point. But you ruined everything.

They're going to pull out their investments, and our company is going down the drain once again.

Why can't you think about us for once before taking such a stupid step?" He snapped, with imaginary fire blazing in his eyes.

"I did nothing wrong. Nothing was wrong with our relationship. He told me our relationship is over because my boobs and asses aren't big enough to satisfy him.”

“Why don't you both get it?” I screamed, and just then my chest began to hurt. It was like a sharp knife was piercing through it, but I wasn't going to say anything to them.

"You boobs and asses are not large enough? Why didn't you have an enlargement surgery?

There are many ways to increase your body's assets to make you look beautiful and sexy. Why didn't you do it?" Mom suddenly asked, looking all mean and scary.

"Do you know how much debt we are having, all thanks to you? I don't care if you didn't commit such an act, but don't you even know how to keep a man? I regret picking you up that day." She yelled, and my entire world seemed to have stopped.

Did my typical Christian mom just say such a thing to me? All for monetary objects. So, I was only delusional about my parents. This was the real them.

"You are right, Cynthia, We thought we should bring her up because she was really beautiful and might be helpful in our lives. But she turned out to be a disaster. It was no wonder she was abandoned; She's a sin and bad luck" he snarled as he mockingly eyed me.

I swallowed a huge lump in my throat as I tried to process what he had just said.

"A child with my blood in their veins won't be so worthless, stupid, shameless, and ignorant. From now on, Livia, you are no longer an Anderson. You are just a random street child who has no family and no surname," he announced, looking determined.

"You also don't dream of having an inheritance or getting a single cent from us," Mom added.

I sighed as I snapped back to reality and then took a step forward, placing my foot in the house that was decorated with gold. The huge gate was made with real white gold, and the flowers that were planted around the yard were all rare species.

If the Huxleys were claimed to be the richest, then the media needed to visit this personal estate that belonged to Grant.

The fresh scent wafted through my nostrils, and I couldn't help the thrill I felt. The place looked surreal, and I didn't stop gushing and gawking as I continued walking in.

I stopped at the living area, and the place screams luxury. This place was a hundred times bigger than my room in the Anderson mansion which was just the size of an average family's living room.

My eyes scanned the place, and they suddenly landed on the business magazine at the central table.

D'Huxley–Mike's Company

The look on my face stiffened, and just then, I heard a chuckle from behind.

"Thinking too much about the past won't change the events that have already occurred.

Think less of the past and predict more of the future." His voice resounded through the room.

He strutted over to the central table and then picked up the business magazine, placing it on the bookshelf.

Gracious Lord in the above! I almost tripped on my steps, looking utterly foolish with pink bubbles all over.

Darts was dressed in a black robe. It looked as if he had just come out of a shower because his hair was dripping wet, and the upper tie of his robe was undone, showing off his great eight abs and sturdy chest.

He looked so sexy, with his golden skin also looking all rosy and tempting, that my eyes couldn't help but move to the lower part of his body.
