Chapter 5

Sitting on the edge of the bed, face in hands, I planned my day. But in the end, it will just be routine. Spend the majority of my hours sitting behind a desk staring into a computer only to come home exhausted at night. Here's what the day had in store for me. Every day by the way. So what's the point of making a program. I therefore took the direction of the shower to prepare myself.

_ Your boss called you several times at 11 p.m. and I picked up. Declared Christine entering the room. This statement made me swallow the froth of the toothpaste in my mouth.

_ What? How ? When? I was so scared that I chained the questions without knowing, what did she say?

_ You look scared. Don't tell me you're afraid of your boss. Christine scoffed.

His smile stung me but I hid it.

_ No, anyway. I'm just surprised.

_ Big Mick is afraid of a woman. This is new.

_ Well what did she say?

_ Nothing, she just wanted to be reassured that you got home yesterday and thank you for the evening. I had my heart beating. I stared at Christine and tried to read her mind, I wanted to know what she was thinking and if she was hiding something from me or outright if she suspected something, but it was impossible.

Sometimes lying is hard. At all times, you are afraid of being discovered.

"Are you sure that's all she said? I asked.

_ Yes. She said handing me my cell phone. Or you've done something stupid and you're afraid of being discovered. She walked away smiling after his remark.

_ Clear. I responded to his joke with a forced smile.

_ Your boss seems rather nice.

Yes, really nice. I answered in my thoughts. The weight of sin is always heavy to bear.

I was in the lobby of the large building that housed the company I worked for. I was pensive, and my heart was beating. The day really promised to be long for me. I was stressed. It is especially after having committed a fault that one feels guilty.

And this is my case. I entered my office without greeting anyone and above all I avoided any contact with Madame Yvonne. But that was just my opinion. She had just walked into my office without knocking.

_ So, we woke up well. I could feel the joy in his voice. To believe that she was not embarrassed like me, on the other hand, I was ashamed.

_ Yes Madam. Thank you

_ Great. But tell me what's wrong? You look upset. She must have noticed my condition, and I didn't know what to say.

_ Well, we'll talk about it later. She told me before closing the door behind with a big smile.

It was Sunday, in the big city, the sun was beating down on the waters of the seas and the churches were gradually emptying of their faithful.

Georges in the kangaroo clinging to his mother's chest, herself dressed in a pretty red dress that I had given her, we had gone for a little walk in town.

Sitting around a small table adorned with mirrors, my phone kept ringing. This was the fifth time I ignored the call because I knew who it was. It was Madame Yvonne, my boss.

_ You do not answer? Christine asked me with a weird look.

_ Nope. I put my phone on silent and slipped it into my pocket. I don't want to be disturbed, I want to spend time with my wife and my little boy. I say to reassure her. I really liked Christine. She was a woman who understood me, she was there when things were going badly and she even helped me. We fight but we always make up. With her, it was something else, it was not a simple love story, but it was the story of a lifetime. I didn't know happiness until the day she smiled at me in that taxi. We had even fought against his parents to be together. Being with her was one of the best things that could happen to me. And often I wondered what I did to deserve it.

_ What are you thinking about? she asked me.

_ Yours. Sometimes I look at you and wonder what did I do to deserve you. You bewitch me every time my eyes fall on you. I have so many loves for you that I can start screaming to the whole world that I love you.

Stay as you are, and never change. She gave a shy little smile and lowered her gaze. That kind of smile that made me fall in love with her on day one. That kind of smile that lights me up every day.

_ I love you too Mick. At first I was afraid that you would cheat on me, but over time, you showed me that you were the ideal man for me and you managed to gain all my trust. And I'm happy because today, I'm convinced that I'm the only woman in your life.
