Chapter 1: Anxious

ALLEGRA POV;

Nothing but blood surrounded me as I watched in horror at the scene before me. I knelt on the floor with my legs on my knees while I screamed.

"No! Let him go!" I screamed struggling in the hands of the guards who had pinned my tiny self while I watched as my best friend's legs were severed from his body by none other than his father.

"Haaaaa!" His cries of pain rang in my ears as I cried my eyes out. Once again, the past incident plagued my mind.

"My lady, please be ready in ten," Laura, my bodyguard, called out from outside my room, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Facing the mirror, I was very nervous. My sweaty palms and ragged breathing were proof of my nervousness as I looked into the mirror, my skin pale.

Clad in a red gown which had a split starting from my knees downward, then paired with a pair of red stilettos, I was ready to face the crowd but most especially, see him.

As much as I wanted to wear my usual sweatshirts and pants, this was my parents' anniversary and as the princess of my werewolf clan, I couldn't dishonor them by doing that.

I stared at the mirror, for the first time, admiring the unique strand of purple hair on my head of brown wavy hair, proof of the powers I had which my parents hid from everyone.

At the thought of this, anger bubbled in me. They caused nothing but disaster. If only they hadn't stopped me from saving that little girl, then he wouldn't have lost his legs and wouldn't hate me!

Clenching my fist, I was determined to get close to the man I owed my life to. It's been fifteen years since we last saw each other and since he declared his hate towards me.

"You can do this!" I cheered myself and my wolf who was also nervous to see him.

I walked out of my room slowly with my palms still sweaty.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," Laura tried to cheer me up but I knew nothing would be fine. He was my mate, my mate who hated me like I was his worst nightmare.

"I hope so Laura, I hope so."

Laura had been my bodyguard right from a young age and knew our story.

I could hear nothing but fake laughter's as I walked down the stairs with Laura behind me.

The clicking sound of my heels drew the attention I never wanted towards me.

And as expected, the hungry males all drooled at my busty figure and wide hips- One reason I hated gowns so much.

My eyes scanned the crowd of people packed in the hall, searching for the one man I came to see.

"He's not here! He's not coming! Now behave, all eyes are on you," My mother's harsh voice in my ears made me almost explode in anger.

She had lied to me yesterday, saying he was going to be here, the only reason I took my time dressing the way he loved me to dress since childhood.

I plastered a fake smile on my face as I mingled a bit before searching for a corner to hide myself.

These boring associations were definitely not my thing. I wish I had a sibling to do all this but unfortunately, I was the only child of my parents, the envy of many since I was royalty.

Deep down,I still held the hope that he'd come here, that he'd arrive but as time passed, I lost the energy to hope.

Drink by drink, I gulped all down my throat, not caring about what brand it was since ordinary alcohol couldn't get me drunk.

Standing not far away from me was Laura who seemed to want to associate a bit but her job to protect me was priority.

'It's fine Laura, you can mingle. I'll be up in my room,' I mind linked her which she reciprocated with a smile as I turned to leave the hall without gaining attention.

Turning my back, I felt my breath get stuck in my throat as I stared at him. His scent attacked my senses as he stared at me, his black orbs piercing right into my soul. Clad in a black suit, his hands in his pocket. His black shiny hair and tanned skin added more to his charm. His muscles bulging in his suit, his jawline strong and those lips of his looking like strawberries. He grew!

"Vin..are you really here?" I whispered, taking slow steps towards him.

"Don't fucking come close!" He growled slowly while I sucked in a sharp breath.

He was real, right here, all the while behind me and I didn't notice.

"Vin-," I was cut off.

"Don't call me that! You don't deserve to. Call me Alpha Vincenzo! You are nothing but a stranger!" He hissed.

A sharp pain in my chest caused me to let out a small gasp of shock, hurt by his words. I knew I deserved them but still.

Tears slipped down my eyes and I refused to back down.

I took slow steps towards him, my vision getting blurry not from the tears but for reasons I was unsure of. Must be because I was emotional.

I was now standing right in front of him, with him glaring at me, his gaze sharp enough to cut into my skin.

He was now at least two inches taller than I was and my head only got to his broad chest as I faced him.

I shook as his eyes changed from its usual black color to golden ones.

With fear in me,I raised my hand slowly, waiting for him to stop me but he didn't.

The moment my hand touched his cheek, I heard him suck in his breath, sending shivers down my spine.

"Stop," the color of his orbs repeatedly flickered from black to gold while my vision became more blurry and my senses getting jumbled.

"I miss you," I whispered, staring into his eyes as it finally settled to golden ones.

The last thing I registered in my head were his lips nearing mine before I lost my senses.
