Lines crossed

ABIGAIL’S POV

I was livid.

The girl’s eyes slid open, and she jerked at the sight of me, causing him to lose focus, clearly aware of what they were caught doing.

I watched as recognition slowly spread across his face, as he started fixing his shirt.

“Fuck are you stalking me?” he snapped.

“Excuse you?” I shot back.

The girl seemed scared as fuck, while hurriedly adjusting her skirt, she stood behind fidgeting. Her face was reddened in embarrassment, but I couldn't care less about her. I was more interested in the dumb ass that couldn't keep it together. In all places to do this, it had to be near the counselor's office.

“This is a school, and I have the right to move freely here.”

“So why don’t you move somewhere else.” He said his voice firm.

“I don’t take directions from assholes.”

I noticed the girl behind him felt mad uncomfortable, fidgeting as her face flushed red.

“I’m so sorry, p..please don’t tell on us.” She blurted out, her voice shuddering.

As much as I wanted to get this asshole in trouble, I didn’t want to drag the girl down with him.

The girl snatched up her purse and hurried out without a word. As soon as she was gone, I rolled my eyes and started to walk away, but before I could, he grabbed my arm.

“Stay away from me, you understand?” His voice dropped low, jaw tightening.

I couldn’t deny how frustratingly attractive he looked- so good looking, yet an ass.

I noticed a hint of gold in his eyes, but my mind quickly shifted to the pain that he was inflicting on me.

“You’re hurting me.” I said out, trying to pull away from his strong grip. “I’m going to scream if you don’t take your hands off me.”

“Is everything all right here?”

A voice broke the tension. We both turned to see a woman, someone official-looking, probably a staff member.

He slowly let go of my arm, releasing me, as he took a step back breaking the suffocating tension.

Before she could say a word, I excused my self and walked out.

What the hell just happened? Did he seriously think he could threaten me? I should have kept walking, ignored them completely. But no, I had to stop, had to get involved.

As I walked down the hallway to back to the party, my chest grew tight, the flash of his stupidly pretty face lingered in my mind, only fueling my anger.

I hate him so much. I hoped I’d never see him again. Ever

DOMINIC’S POV

I stormed into the bathroom, I couldn’t believe I’d almost lost control. I thought I was getting better at this, but clearly, I wasn’t. I took a deep inhale, forcing myself to calm down, but my pulse was still hammering in my ears and my whole body felt like it was on edge, about to snap all over again.

I can now safely say that I hate her, but even amidst all that anger, I could not help but think about how hot she looked in that white dress, and her blonde hair all shiny and glossy. Infuriating, really-the fact that a person that I couldn't stand had such an effect on me.

I stepped out of the bathroom and headed back to the party, hoping to find some girls who’d help me forget about her. I needed a distraction, anything to push her out of my head for good.

As I entered the party, I heard a loud voice call out, “Yo, D, my man!” I turned around to see my friend Aiden.

He was human, my teammate, and probably the only person I could really relate to on a normal level after Enzo.

We exchanged our usual handshake. “This is Liz” Aiden said, effortlessly pulling the onyx-haired girl into the spotlight.

I wasn’t too surprised cause I know one thing Aiden knows how to do is have fun, he’s never serious. Liz seemed to pick up on his vibe, matching his energy as she flashed a playful smile.

“Hey, Liz, this is my friend D," Aiden said, still grinning. "He's the best at t be serious.”

"Pretending?" I retorted, my eyebrow arched. "I'm very serious about my seriousness."

Liz giggled, eyes shining. "Oh really? A brooding man at a party? How intriguing. And what do you like to do for kicks, D? Sit in a corner and brood about life?

"Actually," I said, smiling, "I have great deep philosophical discussions with the walls-they really listen well."

Aiden chimed in, "And you should see him-he brings snacks for the walls too!"

Liz again leaned in, the teasing glint in her eye. "So, what's your favorite wall snack? I am just dying to know about your gourmet taste."

I laughed, the tension was dissolving. "Definitely potato chips-they bring out the best in my wall conversations.

As the conversation went on, I noticed Liz tilt her head a bit, signaling someone to come over.

“My friend Abby is here,” she said with a smile. “She’s a sweetheart.”

I turned, hoping to catch a glimpse of her face. If Liz was cool, Abby might be even cooler.

I scanned the room, searching for someone approaching us, and then my gaze landed on the bar girl. I thought I was hallucinating and blinked to make sure I wasn’t. Was she really walking in our direction, or was I just tripping?

She couldn’t see me, so I assumed she was just passing by. God, she was beautiful—the way she moved gracefully, one leg after the other, walking with such elegance.

Then I realized she was actually heading toward us.

This couldn’t be happening.
