Chapter 9

Downstairs, lunch had already been served courtesy of Roger jones' earlier instructions, and it was a party.

Justin led Sandra into the dining room.

- Sit down,

Justin said, pulling out a chair for her as if it were the natural thing to do.

Right? Is Justin serving her now? Sandra thought.

In an instant, Sandra felt like she had received a freebie and decided to accept it. Turning to Justin, she plastered on a sweet smile,

- Thank you, honey," she said as she sat down.

Sandra picked up the dishes that were laid out on the table. deftly, she picked up a bowl and began to fill it with duck soup. Once the bowl was full, she placed it right in front of Justin. She smiled in a way that made her look like an enslaved servant.

- Drink the soup first, she said, duck soup is very nice as a snack. Try it.

The truth was, there was nothing Justin hated more than duck soup. He forced a smile and then reached out to ruffle Sandra's hair.

- Thank you.

he said. On the outside, his services seemed quite affectionate. But in truth, there was a certain strength behind those hands.

- Oh, please," said Sandra. I'm good as long as you like it.

Sandra knew it was Justin's idea of revenge. In fact, she thought her hair was messier than a bird's nest at this point, thanks to Justin's 'loving' gesture. Yet she was beaming like she was the happiest woman in the whole world, bird's nest hair and all.

Justin found himself very pleased with the way Sandra had handled her misfortunes with compliance and tolerance. Although he didn't know how long this little monster would remain so compliant, he decided to give face and finished the bowl of soup she had served him.

Upon seeing Justin's now empty bowl, Oceane picked up the bowl in a show of care and courtesy.

- Brother, let me fill another bowl for you," she said. "Our chef makes the best soups. You should have more.

- No, thanks, Justin said, I don't really like duck soup.

Oceania's movement subsided. An uncomfortable look crossed her face.

- But when my sister gave you that bowl earlier ... she dragged. She thought Justin really liked duck soup.

Justin looked at Sandra, his eyes filled with love and affection.

- Since my wife had served it to me, I must drink it. Said Justin. But if it is served by others ... then thank you, but no, thought Justin.

Sandra was beaming softly as if she would lean in to kiss Justin any minute.

Oceane felt even more awkward than before. But at the same time, she also felt a little offended. She placed the bowl in front of Justin.

Deciding she might as well go all the way, she pointed to a crawfish,

- Honey, I want to eat that one.

Justin was very dubious of Sandra's fondness for crawfish, though he put on a pair of gloves and grabbed one from the tray. He even went so far as to meticulously remove the edible meat from the shell before placing them neatly on his plate.

- Eat slowly, he reminded her in a 'gentle' tone.

It turned out that Sandra's penchant for crawfish was real. Looking at the tender, succulent crawfish meat on her plate, she could already imagine the texture of the meat in her mouth. It would be soft, tender and with just the right amount of tenderness. She nodded absently and picked up a piece of meat. Then she dipped the meat in the sauce and began to eat.

Justin: ...

Sandra finished a whole crawfish, although its aftertaste made her want more. At the same time, she didn't feel like removing the shells by herself. So she glanced at Justin with a smile,

- Honey, I want another one.

Without batting an eye, Justin glanced at her. The one that says, don't push it.

Meanwhile, Sandra didn't care if she went too far. She continued to look at Justin with an enchanting smile on her face.

Reading the situation, Oceane, on 'good intentions', suggested,

- Sis, maybe you should ask Aunt Liu. I mean, brother... he doesn't seem too enthusiastic about it. It's better not to force people, you know.

The way Oceane saw it, Sandra was deliberately flaunting her ownership and pretending that she now had Lu Justin. And she did it because she knew Oceane's own feelings about Lu Justin. But now it was time for her to send Sandra a message - a man like Lu Justin was not someone she could rule over!

Sandra completely ignored Oceane. She looked at Justin with a slightly hurt look on her face,

- Huh? Honey, don't you want to?

Justin noticed a smudge at the corner of her lips.

He grabbed a napkin and began wiping the sauce stains from the corners of Sandra's lips. Then, agitated, he peeled another crawfish, though this time he even dipped the meat in the sauce before placing it on Sandra's plate.

- Why shouldn't I be? I'll peel them all for you," he said, "no matter how much you want.

The affection and love between his eyebrows was palpable. Sandra knew it was just his acting skills on full steam, but she still felt as if someone had brushed her back with a burst of honey.

But such feelings of sweetness are addictive and therefore should not be further admitted.

Oceane, who was off to the side watching the whole scene, lowered her head. There was an audible splash as her tear fell.

She had met Justin a long time ago. But he was also famous, with tens of thousands of eyes watching him. So it was natural for him not to notice her at all. But for her, it was love at first sight. And when she found out he was marrying Sandra, she had cried and thrown a dish. But no one had done anything to help her.

Afterwards, Roger Jones had told her that the marriage between Justin and Sandra could all be an act, meant for the Jones family.

But now it seemed to him that Justin's affections for Sandra were so deep that he was willing to go so far as to put on a pair of gloves to peel crayfish. And Sandra, the little monster who normally had all her sharp teeth and dancing claws at home, had now become so obedient and pretty. It was so obvious that there was chemistry and attraction between them!

- Oceane, what's wrong?

Jiang Annabelle asked. Seeing her daughter in tears had turned her interior into a crumpled mess.

- Are you not feeling well?

It took a long time before Oceane answered.

- ... my leg hurts, she mumbled incoherently.

- Your leg isn't healed yet? Roger Jones asked, his eyebrows furrowed,

- Don't cry. We'll take you to the hospital after lunch.

- But the driver took the day off today. And you have been drinking, so you can not drive, said Jiang Annabelle, apparently at her end '. Then she glanced at justin,

- Justin, can you take Oceane to the hospital after lunch? That child loves you very much.

Sandra rolled her eyes internally. How many veiled meanings are there in Jiang Annabelle's words? she thought. Of course, she could put aside the fact that Jiang Annabelle had just weakened her completely by suggesting that Lu Justin take Oceane to the hospital. But telling Justin that Oceane loved him?

Huh, is she secretly throwing out clues about Justin?

- Don't worry about going to the hospital, Sandra said with a smile, have you forgotten? I'm practically half a doctor. I've managed even more surgeries than a typical general surgeon! After lunch, I'll take care of Oceania.

- Sis, you ...

It was as if the pain had been shocked out of Oceania's leg! Sandra was a forensic doctor, is not this called surgeries ' ' of his just autopsies?!

Jiang Annabelle's fear seemed to exceed even Oceania's.

- Sandra, what are you planning? You're in forensics, and now you're trying to treat my daughter?"

Huh, is she trying to downplay my professional career? Or is she trying to get Oceane and Justin alone? Sandra thought.

Sandra felt like her little world was on fire. But just then, Lu Justin placed another freshly peeled crawfish on her plate, the look in his eyes imploring her to keep it cool. For a while, Sandra weighed her options before deciding that the crawfish would taste much better than the anger. Well, I'll please my palate first and see how it goes, Sandra thought.

- Sandra has a medical license, Justin said, the glove came off his hand in an elegant motion. Then he looked at Oceane,

- Miss Jones, don't you trust Sandra?

With someone so elegant and chic looking at you like that, it was almost impossible for you to shake your head.

Oceane's mind seemed to have lost its ability to think. Dazed, she shook her head,

- I'll listen to my brother, she said softly.
