Marília woke up early as she always did, dressed up and went straight to the bus stop to work. It was thinking about what the boss’s son could have said, of course, his refusal did not make him happy at all.
Arriving there, she was surprised by bad news.
“Take your stuff and don’t come back, you’re officially fired!”
She ran out of ground, running out of work was terribly worrying about someone who had no financial support. Marília could only look for another job, that same morning she went out to look for something, walked through the city center until her feet created painful blisters. She hated the idea of being harmed by refusing to flirt, felt diminished and very disgusted with the situation.
“God, help me find something!” She leaned a moment to rest, with the newspaper of the day in her hands.
Marília
I returned home, I can not let myself down because of this, although the will to leave desperate is huge. Sooner or later, something will come up for me, having been sent away that way was very strange and embarrassing, I never even saw Diogo or told me what he reported about last night. So if he didn’t talk, why did they send me away?
I have to stop thinking about the past, I’m gonna forget about this damn restaurant and look for something better. Maybe it was a big haul to get me out of there.
I took a shower, looked at my phone and through the window counted the stars without having much to do. I went to sleep very tired, and from the next day I started going out to look for work daily and never returned home before 19:00, but everything was difficult… A week passed and nothing.

Marília was very anxious and did not sleep well, her thoughts were directed to concerns about her current unemployment situation. Without anyone’s support, she could not stay without her salary for long, or would come to pass necessity. I didn’t want to borrow money from my friends or have to borrow from the bank. Much less turn to her grandmother, who lived far from her and had fragile health.
Until finally and when she least expected it, she received a message from the manager of the restaurant where she worked, it was a request for the young woman to immediately return to work, and she could hardly believe that she would get back what she lost.
“God, thank you!”
It was not the opportunity of her dreams, the work as a waitress was exhausting, and she knew it well, but was not in a position to refuse anything.
Marília
Going back to the restaurant didn’t seem like a bad idea, I already knew everyone and I knew how to do the job. Everything is a matter of always showing me tolerant of everything and everyone so that they do not send me away again, I will not waste this opportunity that life is giving me.
I hope I don’t find Diogo or anyone like him, I don’t even know if I’ll have the same vacancy as before. It doesn’t matter! It is decided, and I will return to work there, if someday life smiles at me with another chance, then, yes, I will!

She immediately went there and spoke to the manager who was waiting for her, happy and excited, she tried to sign the readmission documents, but felt she should ask a few things, even after having already agreed to everything. It was a new hire, even in an establishment she already knew and where they already knew what her job was like.
“I thought Mr Adalberto would never allow you to call me to work again.”
The manager looked at her surprised, thought she already knew about the changes that had taken place after her departure from work. Since she was not aware of the situation, he would clarify everything before she started at work.
“But it was not Marília, but the new owner, who asked me to call you again. Vinícius Vargas and his other name I do not remember. He owns the restaurant now!”
Marília’s expression of joy gave way to fury, she almost threw the documents on the table and stood up.
“What is this bullshit? This guy has got to be messing with me!”
“Wait, Marília, where are you going?”
“Look for a fucking job!”
She left furious, Marilia returned home angry with what she had heard, it was a tremendous absurdity Vinicius had bought that restaurant, and she would never accept to work for him. She was washing the dishes, so she could throw the pots with all the strength and anger she was feeling when they rang the bell of her house.
“Hello!” She promptly recognized the owner of the house where she lived, was already his tenant for a few years and fortunately can always afford the expenses.
“Marília, I came to receive the rent money this month, you are already twenty days late.”
[…]
She was embarrassed and had never been through a situation like that, was one of the most punctual with the payment.
“Forgive me sir, I’m looking for work and I promise that this week I’ll figure it out and take your money. You know, I’ve always been a good tenant, I’m just going through a difficult time and I ask only a little patience!”
“I know, daughter, but I really need the money and will be waiting.”
She became even more distressed and anxious to get a job, had left her resume in some places and waited for a call, the phone rang, and she ran to answer.
“Do I talk to Mrs Marília?”
“Yes, I am myself.” Your heart was filled with hope once again.
“We are from an agency, and we want to schedule an interview with you for a nanny position, ahead of you that the remuneration is great.”
Marília almost jumped off the couch, it would be wonderful to take care of children and she always liked it.
“Yes, yes, sir, I am interested in that vacancy!”
She thought it was smart to send your resume before even talking in person, she sent the file of your resume in PDF and in less than three seconds the answer came.
“The job is yours if you want it!”
“I will, I will be there tomorrow.” She took another leap of joy from the couch, was relieved not to have to do more debts to keep up.
Marília
God heard my prayers and much more than I could imagine, the salary would be great and taking care of a child would not be complicated at all to do. Slept until lighter and the next day, I got up excited about my first day of work.
I took the address and went to the agreed place, took a scare to see that the house was just Vinicius.
“It can only be a bad joke, what the hell do you want from me?” I turn to leave without even saying everything I think to him, but we end up bumping into each other.
“I’m glad you came early to take care of Yasmin!”
“I didn’t know you were the contractor, I’m going home… if I didn’t agree to stay at the restaurant, I won’t agree to stay here either.”
Vinicius held my arm, and we looked at each other suddenly.
“Stop there Marília, remember that before knowing who was the new owner… you signed the readmission at the restaurant. I mean, we have a contract, and you’re my official employee.”
“But I do not accept to work for you, simple as that!” I cried, he smiled ironically.
“That’s right, to terminate the contract, you just pay a million dollars to me.”
“That’s dirty play, what kind of crazy contract is that that forces me to pay that much?”
“Now… that you signed girl today, now come in and start your first day of work with a smile on your face.”
My desire was to pluck this chicken suit and tie, I entered that house with an immense desire to disappear from there. He walked me to the girl’s room, kissed her face and looked at me.
“Here is your dream nanny, I know that Marilia will take good care of you!”
He passed me out of the room, ran his hand through a lock of my hair, took a killer look in his eyes.
“What the hell!”
“Did you say something?” The girl asked, knowing well what Yasmin is capable of, I thought it's best to disregard. “Nothing, I asked you to show me your dolls!”
Playing with that little girl, my head was far away, I mean… not that far away. Because Vinicius does not leave my mind, even though he is a complete unbearable and controlling.
“Why are you sad?”
“For nothing, Yasmin, why don’t we go to the garden of the house for a while?”
Marilia and the girl were getting along, she did not understand why she was nurturing feelings for a man who only wanted her as a nanny for her son and always treated her with such contempt and arrogance.
