"What just happened" Harry asked clearly confused. "Boss that's what happened to all the moles, they always drop dead themselves but we're sure it's not because of the torture. There's something inside them that releases a substance that eventually kills them" A woman explained with a scared voice.
"How do you know that?" Harry asked suspecting her. "Well I've seen the three of them drop dead and it I was the same way. Blood oozing out from their mouths, it's like there's a time bomb which blows off, that's what some syndicate uses now so they can get rid of any traitor quickly" She explained without any pause.
"Lock her up don't feed her for a week" Harry ordered pointing at the lady who just spoke. "You should know what you did before getting punished. Knowing all this without informing me or stone" Harry yelled the last part angrily as he stormed into his room.
Harry paced around, fear evident in his eyes "Who really are you" Harry asked, no one in particular.
The next morning......
Annabelle was the first person to get to the coffee shop surprising Dylan. "Good morning boss" Annabelle greeted enthusiastically. "Good morning Miss Rodgers how was your night" Dylan asked in the most professional way ever.
"My night was awesome, I want morning and afternoon shift" Annabelle said and Dylan hummed. "Well I have a curfew at home, and I don't want my old grandpa to be upset" Annabelle explained.
"Well you just got hired so you have to follow the roster for a week before deciding on the time you want" Dylan replied and he wore his apron which had the name of the restaurant on it. "Okay boss but then what should I do" Annabelle said with a huge smile.
Dylan guided her on what to do, how to use the various machines. "Good morning boss" Yvonne greeted with a bright smile "ohh Yvonne you'd guide Annabelle, from now on you two will be at the counter" Dylan said before walking away. Yvonne shrieked out from excitement "We'd be together from now on, in so excited " Annabelle smiled seeing Yvonne was a cheerful girl.
Yvonne on the other hand knew about Annabelle's history so she was sad after reading the news. Soon it was lunch break and they all went to take a break, Annabelle felt like someone's eyes was boring a hole in her body so she turned around and saw Yvonne staring at her. "Ok that's creepy, stop staring at me" Annabelle scolded. "It must be hard to have lost all your money in a day" Yvonne finally said and Annabelle just smiled.
"Yes, but what can I do about that I just have to endure but don't worry I'd get back on my feet that's a promise" Annabelle said with a smile. "I pray so" Yvonne muttered.
"Lunch break is over Annabelle go take the order from table 3" Their manager, Mr Kennedy interrupted their lunch. "I hate it when he does that" Yvonne muttered as soon as he was out of sight. "I'd go now" Annabelle said and Yvonne hummed.
Annabelle walked to table 3."Welcome sir, what would you like to..." Annabelle paused immediately she saw his face.
"Adrian" Annabelle said surprised causing him to sigh.
"I told you my office is around so I came here for lunch" he replied and Annabelle gave him the menu.
Annabelle noticed something different about him this time around, his voice was so cold and scary which kept her on her toes, unlike the first time they talked. "What would you like to order sir" Annabelle composed herself.
"I'd have a chicken sandwich and fries. I'd have soda with that" Adrian said without looking at her. "Will you like condiments or...." Annabelle asked politely and Adrian finally looked at her.
"Yes I'd like some mayonnaise and mustard" he interjected with a hint of a smile and she bowed a little. "I'd be right back with your order" Annabelle smiled before walking away.
Adrian watched her with a dark expression on his face and a cold demeanor emitting from him, it was like he was the devil seated.
As Annabelle returned with Adrian's order, she was relieved to see that he was looking at his phone, rather than at her. But when she placed the food in front of him, he looked up and said, "You forgot my drink." Annabelle blushed, embarrassed by her mistake.
"I'm so sorry," she said, "I'll be right back with your drink." As she turned to leave, she felt Adrian's eyes following her, and it made her shiver.
When Annabelle returned with the drink, Adrian was still staring at her, She placed the drink on the table, trying to avoid his gaze. "Is there anything else I can get you?" she asked, hoping he would say no. ''Actually, there is" Adrian replied, his voice smooth and dangerous. "I'd like to talk to you about something" Adrian said as he glued his eyes on hers.
"I'm sorry I can't. I'm still working" she bites her lip and looks back at the counter and sighs. "It's fine I just forgot what I wanted to say. Maybe some other time" Adrian replied, this time without a smile which made Annabelle twitch.
After that, Annabelle went back to the counter and tried to focus on her work, but she couldn't stop thinking about the strange encounter with Adrian, and she looked towards his direction just to see he was staring at her Annabelle quickly averted her gaze.
But as the day went on, Annabelle found herself glancing over at Adrian's table more and more often. She couldn't help it - something about him was intriguing. He was handsome, but there was something else about him that drew her in. Maybe it was the air of mystery that surrounded him.
He was clearly a man of secrets, and Annabelle couldn't help but wonder what those secrets were. She tried to put her curiosity out of her mind, but it was no use. She felt like she had to know more about him.
Then, at the end of her shift, she noticed that Adrian was still at his table. He was finishing his meal and reading a book, but Annabelle couldn't help but feel drawn to him. She went over to his table and said, "Excuse me, sir. I'm sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering if you might be interested in some dessert. I know it's not part of my job, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds." he looked up from his book, and Annabelle saw a flash of something in his eyes - interest, perhaps? He smiled and said, "That's very thoughtful of you. I would love some dessert. Thank you."
Annabelle smiled back, and she couldn't help but feel a little thrill of excitement. She had gotten through to him, and he was interested in what she had to say. As she brought him a slice of chocolate cake, she couldn't help but notice how good-looking he was. He was tall, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He had a strong jawline and a confident air about him. But it was more than just his looks that interested her. There was something about him that she couldn't quite put her finger on. She felt like there was more to him than met the eye.
