MAID IN THE PALACE

''Bella' 'Bella'' her mother woke her up from her deep slumber. Isabella woke up only find her mother and father standing besides her bed holding a cake with 18 candles. she opened her eyes weakly as an overly pampered princess would. ''wake up sweetie. its your birthday'' her mother said.

''ohh God, how could I forget such an important day in my life. its my 18th birthday for gods sake'' she said as she jumped out of bed to blow out the candles. ''happy birthday my little pumpkin'' her father wished her. Isabella closes her eyes to make a wish and then blew out the candles. ''mum why didn't you wake me up early. this is the moat important birthday year of my life. its the day I turned 18 and you all know how much I've been waiting for this day'' she says. being an only child born to Mr. and Mrs. Antoni Gibson, in a middle class family Isabella was the only apple of her parents eyes. she was dearly loved by her parents . her father was the CEO of Bella fashion company .and her mother was a stay home wife though with great fashion talents. and Isabella being the only child she was trained all her life to be the successor of her father's company. and today as she turns 18 her mother and father could not help but reflect from that same day carried her in their hands for the first time. she was s tiny human being and seeing her turn 18 only brought tears of joy in their eyes. ''where are the gifts? am not seeing the gifts you brought for me.'' she says and her voice brings them back to reality. her mother seats besides her on the bed as Mr. Antonio remains in the position he was in when he entered the room. ''go take a shower sweetie and dress nicely and then come down for breakfast. we have a very important and big gift to give to you.'' her mother says. ''really. oh god i cant wait to see that gift. am so curious as to what it is going to be.'' she says excitedly. her mother gets up from the bed and together with her father they exit the room leaving the teenage girl to prepare herself.

Mary, Isabella's mother can not help but be overjoyed with tears in her eyes. she cannot believe her baby girl is now 18years. ''Mary what's wrong. you are weeping as if someone has died.'' Antonio says ''Antonio its just tears of joy. I cant believe my baby girl is now grown up. just thinking of the day I gave birth to her just feels like yesterday.'' she says trying so hard to push back her tears.

after taking a very long shower as she normally does and preparing her self , Isabella comes down to the living room. she's clad in a tight-fitting black V-necked dress that shows her perfectly shaped body. she has her hair in a perfectly held ponytail that shows off her beautifully made neckline.

her parents are already seated on the dinning table having their breakfast and she joins them. ''you started without me'' she says. as the servants serve her food. ''we know how long it takes you to take a shower. and we were famished so we couldn't wait for you'' her father says. ''its a girl thing so I cant help it dad'' she says and smiles at her dad as she picks up the cattery to dig in her food. the trio eats their food in silence and when they were done, they got up to leave. they were going to spend the a family day out . they moved to the car with Isabella sitting in the back seat and Mr. Antonio takes off as they drive out of the gate. once on the high way, Mr. Antonio plays his and Isabella's favorite song try everything by Shakira. the father and daughter sing along together. as Mary just listens to them and smiles to her self. and then she also jumps in and joins them. when the song ends, Mary asks Isabella what she wished for earlier. '' mum you know a wish is meant to be a secret until it comes true. if I shared now it will be ruined.'' Isabella says. ''you know some wishes are meant to be shared coz it can be fulfilled only when shared with people like us. never know its we to make it come true.'' Mary says. and Antonio nods his head in support of what his wife just said. ''anyway ill tell you since you asked.'' Isabella says. she continues'' I wished for a boyfriend''. when her parents hear that it doesn't come as a surprise. all her life since the age of 8 Isabella has always wanted to get herself a boyfriend. however her parents had forbade her from getting a boyfriend until she turned 18. and today since she turned 18 she had nothing to wish for nut only to get herself a boyfriend. ''boyfriend?'' her father asks. ''yeah boyfriend. ii wished to get myself a boyfriend. I want to know how it feels for one to get a boyfriend.'' she says

''but you have me'' her father states. ''you are my dad. and you cant be my boyfriend.'' she says. ''a boyfriend is someone you do staff with'' she continues. this leaves her parents in surprise and cant help but laugh. ''who told you that Bella'' her mother asks. being the only child, Isabella was somehow strictly brought up by her parents concerning boy staff. they knew how much teens mess up once they are in the so called relationships with their immature boyfriends so they had to be so strict on her and promised her she would only be allowed to get a boyfriend until she turned 18.only then she would be mature enough to know how to go about with life and can differeciate between the right and wrong. ''all my friends have boyfriends have been telling me what they do with their boyfriends'' she replies to her mother's question. ''what have they been telling you?'' her father turn to face her as he asks her but only then does the worst happen. a big track loses control and knocks down their car and sends it rolling.
