Chapter 1: Somebody

Somebody said if you hate a person, you hate something about them that is part of yourself.

I hated myself for what I'd decided. I can no longer escape it, and even more so, I will never forget it.

I picked up the blower and threw it at the glass, causing it to make a loud noise when it shattered. I heard the handmaiden sigh when she entered the bathroom.

"Clean it up," I commanded her and left the messy bathroom.

In my life, there's only one lesson I've learned, don't make decisions when you're desperate or frustrated.

People can do things, especially if that person is desperate to get someone or something.

And one of these people is me.

If my birth mother is still alive, will she brand me a thief for this? Maybe she would understand; everything I did was for her.

Wherever I am now, it is because of justice that I have not obtained.

But I'm not like everyone who gives up because there's nothing they can do. As long as I'm breathing, I will never give up until I know the truth.

I want to correct everything, but I don't know where to start because even I, myself, is also a mistake.

"You broke the glass again..." Steven began. We are now heading to school, where I rule.

He glanced at me in the rearview mirror for a moment before looking back at the tablet he was holding as if it were his twin.

"l got annoyed," I briefly left and looked back out the window.

"Why are you annoyed? You're beautiful..." he asked.

I did not answer him and just focused on the buildings we were passing.

A few minutes passed before we arrived in front of Southville University because this is where the Sport's Fest was held.

The driver immediately opened the door and handed me the bow and arrow I would use to teach the archer in Cooper University Archery.

I raised an eyebrow when I saw Steven following me. He looked around as if he wasn't the one I was gazing at, and I raised an eyebrow. He took the bow and arrow out of me.

"You don't have work?"

He shook his head. I smirked. It's up to him what he does. Last week, Kameron's father asked him to work for him.

I was startled when someone suddenly grabbed my arm. Red's annoying smile greeted me, with a bow and arrow hanging behind her.

"What a nice day to begin with!" her lively language.

She came to a halt, so Steven and I stopped too. When will I be able to escape this woman? She grabbed both my shoulders while staring at me thoughtfully.

"Kameron, it's not because you lost my pet Gwen. We should be complacent- you shouldn't be! You should win the school that will be yours in the future!"

The mixture of my day is even worse now. I removed her hand that was on my shoulder and walked ahead.

I don't want others to know that Jaxsen and I didn't get along after what happened.

We will never be nice to each other anymore. It was enough that once we succumbed to each other's temptation. After what I did to Jaxsen, it was as if his head was boiling every time we met. Furious.

I immediately looked away when I saw him in the corridor, walking so fucking cool, his hands in his pocket. All the students passed by and greeted him.

I can't deny he's so hot in a simple white v-neck shirt. Damn!

He immediately smiled when he saw us. "Good morning, Sir Cooper!" Red's warm greetings.

Jaxsen just nodded, and so did Steven to him.

Three of them waited for my response. I stared at them all before starting to walk, but it was as if my legs were hanging when I saw the familiar silhouette.

Why is she here? When did she get home?

I followed her with my gaze when I saw her go to the other building. I suddenly felt Worse.

"I'm just going somewhere for a while," I said goodbye.

"What? Where? The competition is about to start…"

I have no more wasted time. I immediately went to the other building and crossed the field where we played yesterday. There's a bunch of students playing soccer.

"Damn..." I whispered as I went up to the third

the floor of the Business Ads building.

I was about to go downstairs when someone pulled me. I screamed in shock. I wasn't wrong...

Her flaming eyes greeted me. Why now?

"W-Who are you?" I lied.

"It won't bother me, Jian!" She emphasized my name. "You look like her!" she shouted, and I immediately averted my eyes.

How did she get home?

My eyes widened when she pinned me on the wall and forcibly lifted the hem of my uniform. I knew what she wanted to see there.

"Fucking stop it," I shouted and tried to remove her rough hand from my waist.

Right now, I have no idea why I'm chickening out! No matter what, I stopped. I still couldn't take her hand away.

"You are!" she said after successfully seeing my tattoo and scar.

Dammit! This scar will bring me to the brink of death! I was about to slap her... Someone struck her on her face, causing her to lie on the floor.

"Jillian!" I shouted, and I was about to attend when someone stopped me. He gripped my arm tightly.

"What the... Jaxsen?"

How can he hit Jillian? She's a woman, for Pete's sake!

What I was about to say was hung up when he took off his clothes and wrapped them around my waist where the tattoo was. Is that really how I shiver, and I didn't even realize that Jillian had torn my uniform already!

I thought it was done, but when he saw that Jillian was about to stand up, the great Jaxsen struck Jillian again.

"Stop!" I shouted and was about to stop him when his elbow suddenly hit my stomach. Jaxsen stopped when he saw my reaction; his grip on Jillian's wrist tightened even more.

"Jian!"

I turned to the owner of the voice that called my name. He glanced at Jaxsen, wiping the blood from his lips with his index finger. Steven's attention diverted to Jillian.

Steven's gaze flew to my torn uniform. I'm still holding my stomach, feeling the pain. I saw Steven's jaw clenched, turning his hand into a fist. I stood up and hugged his back when he was about to approach Jillian.

"Please, don't..."

I don't want him to hurt Jillian again! I couldn't help but look at Jaxsen, who clutched Jillian's wrist tightly.

His eyes are full of anger and... sadness. But the sorrow I saw suddenly disappeared. Maybe I'm just hallucinating? The grief was replaced by anger.

I know, Jaxsen! Your eyes are telling me that my karma is now attacking me! I didn't expect the karma you were saying was so cruel.
