Kiss, Kiss, Fall In Love

PSYCHE FAIE was looking intently at the gummy worm she’s holding. She’s thinking if she’ll eat the red part or the blue part of the worm. Or maybe she’ll eat it whole.

"Psst!"

She removed her sight from the gummy worm and searched for the source of the noise. A toothy smile had appeared on her face when she saw the face of her best friend, Eros Gabriel. He was two years older than her at the age of nine but she was considered his best friend. He was wearing glasses but she knew it was not a prescription glasses.

He told her he looks so cool when he’s wearing an eyeglass but she thought he’s silly for doing that.

“Eros! Come here faster!”

He immediately approached her and sit next to her. "What do you want?"

“What should I eat first? The blue or the red?"

Smiling, he shook his head. “Let's just share, Psyche. I’ll have the blue part, then you’ll have the red part.”

She think first before nodding her head. “Okay. But you should give me one of Aunt Erin’s cookies as well.” The Aunt Erin she was referring to was his mommy.

“Sure. You can have my share later.”

She bit the red part of the gummy worm then gave the blue part to her friend. While chewing she looked at her friend.

They were like two long lost siblings. In fact, he only calls her Psyche and she only calls him Eros.

She looked outside their house. Their fence is low so she can see those passing by on the opposite road. The Roxas family home is next to theirs. They even have a tree house in the middle of their house.

She took another gummy worm from the package she was carrying. She bit the green and gave Gabby the yellow.

"Wow!" she exclaimed as a speeding motorcycle passed in front of their house. "That was fast!"

She heard Gabby scoffed.

She looked at him in astonishment but he just shrugged. For an eleven year old boy, Gabby thinks like he’s older than his age. But despite that, he still remains as her protector and best friend.

"Ew." She suddenly spoke when she noticed the couple kissinh in the opposite house. She covered both of her eyes with her hands but kept her fingers open to peek.

“Silly, Psyche. They’re only kissing. ”

“But that’s bad! Mommy said girls could get pregnant for kissing! ”

Gabby gave her an unbelievable look. “Huh? Psyche, kissing is just the act of pressing one’s lips to the lips of the other person. You can't have a baby in a kiss. Unless… ” He shook his head. "Nevermind."

She gave the man a confused look.

"So is it okay for me to kiss older brother Zeph?" She was referring to his older brother.

He glared at her and pinched her slightly. “Don’t kiss anyone, Psyche. You hear me? ”

"Why? You said I would never have a baby. ” she said.

“You will be a frog! You should only kiss your true love. ”

She winced when she imagined herself turning into a frog. She hates frogs. They’re slimy and yucky.

“So don't let anyone kiss you, okay? I don't want you to be a frog. ”

She nodded in succession.

"Very good." He said and gently messed up her hair.

Why does he feel this way?

But because he is her best friend, she will believe him.
