Chapter 1

Isabela

My grandpa and grandma taught me independence at a young age. I was a pain in the ass to them as well as they are to me. I have to deal with them every single day since I live with them. Before my parents gave birth to me they consulted a clarevoyant to foresee the future of the fetus inside the stomach.

When my parents heard that I wasn't anything special and the clarevoyant didn't feel any strong power in me they decided to give their fourth child away.

You see, in Selvaggio World, power is the most important thing there is. Mainly because all living creatures that lived there has a power. What I mean is strong, vicious power that can compete to the Arcturus High. Grandpapa told me whoever wins there can bring honour to the family and who'll directly serve the Royalties. Royalties who will give fortune and authority to you. Who will provide for your family's wishes.

Vampires, werewolves, fairies, weird creatures, crossbreeds and all other creature live in the same world. Compete with the same honour and obeys the same rule. Each has its own gods and goddesses. Each has its own ruler.

I am a full ordinary simple vampire who lives with her Grandpapa and grandmama. I live far away from the village to live a simple life. Grandpapa and grandmama always asks me to do the chores. I travel 20 mountains to get special water for grandmama. I wasn't used to it at first but now, I can even walk up to a hundred. Grandpapa said I am good as an average vampire. Not weak, just average. I have to dig up soil to get gold. Dive into the depths of the ocean to get fish, climb trees to get fruits, fight vicious animal for a meal and many more. Not to forget I have to do my training. I have to do 75,000 push up, 75,000 squats, fight with Moori (An old beast living in the forest) and if I get punished Grandpapa triples it. He even throw me in the pit of the devil. But it was all worth it when food is being serve. Grandmama cooks very delicious food, but what I am looking forward was the tasty blood! Oh! My eyes and mouth would water everytime I remember it.

At a young age, I was bullied and mocked since I have weak power, it was before I could even enter school. I ask Grandpapa one time why I couldn't go to school and said I'm too weak to face other creatures. They would bully me he said.

Grandpapa and grandmama teaches me a lot of things. They told me it was for my own good. I did got curious what the village looks like since it was so long since I last visited but my curiosity died down at how horrible grandpapa's story about creatures in there. I did have my own experience (first hand) and I totally agree with him. He said they could break all my bones in one flick. It sounded so horrible that I can't believe grandmama would laugh everytime he tells story about creatures in the village.

Sometimes I caught grandmama watching the windows where the village was and I felt bad that because of my weakness they had to move far away from the village in order for me to not get hurt. So I started to train even harder.

"Grandpapa! I knockout Moori today! I think I'm getting stronger!" I excitedly said. He seemed shocked at first but smiled afterwards.

He rufflde my hair. "After 12 years of fighting with him, you finally knocked him out huh. I think he was just tired of seeing your face everyday that's why he let's you win!"

"Gramps!" I pouted.

"Alright, alright! Well, I have to announce what you have achieve today to your grandmama..." he said leaving me.

I sigh. I hope this time, grandpapa approves my hint to visit the village. My shoulder sagged as I walk to get the medicine for Moori.

"Goodness!" I heard grandmama gasp loudly. I heard footsteps behind me. It was both of them. To my surprise grandmama embraced me.

"What power of nature bestowed down to you?!" grandmama let go of me. She held my cheek. She was in great shock. I guess knocking out Moori this morning was a good idea. I smiled at her.

"Am I strong enough Grandmama?" I asks. The hope in my voice was very evident. Her face change almost quickly. I dissapointedly look at the grounds. "W-well, grandmama and grandpapa can visit the village by themselves. I can now take care of myself..." I said, voice still hopeful. "W-w-well... umh... I guess I'll go back to the forest to heal Moori." I said leaving both of them without looking at them.

Carrying the medicine of Moori, I ran back to the forest ignoring their calls.

"Moori! Moori!" I called. I then heard his familiar howl. I guess his already awake.

"Grrrr!" Moori growled, eyes burning with fire.

"Oh come on! I didn't get angry at you everytime you break my bones." I complain. "Here I have a medicine..." I said stepping close to him. He put his fighting stance at me. I rolled my eyes. "Okay, I'm sorry." I said holding my hands up. He whimper dramatically.

Although Moori and I been fighting everyday, I couldn't help getting attached to him. I actually consider him as my friend. Not just any mere enemy.

I treated Moori with the medicine I bought. "Even though I defeated you, grandmama and grandpapa still thinks I'm weak." I randomly told him. He made a low guttural sound on his throat as if taking it as an insult. Well, it was. "Maybe I just go back in the pit of demons and slaughter them one by one..." I sigh. "You think that'll make them visit the village?" I ask. He whimper softly. "Grandpapa might throw me again in there anyway." I said remembering how I ignored them a while ago.

I nursed his wound perfectly. "Well, I should go back. That should be it," I said referring to his wound. He snarled at me annoyingly.

I wasn't nervous going home. In fact, I have gotten used to all grandpa's punishment that I take them now easily. No sweat. The lively house was so quite that I heard a creeking sound as I walk on the marbled floor. That's very unusual.

My heart thudded so dangerously I think I'll have a heart attack. I ran to their rooms to check but I saw no one. "Grandmama!" I shouted. "Grandpapa!" Even though the house was small I couldn't help checking the rooms repeatedly as if they will appear once I open it once more.

My throat runs dry and my tears instantly fell.

Then I remembered. I told them they could visit the village without me! I cried even harder thinking they both left me without saying goodbyes. They actually left me! Meeee?! Those scoundrels! How can they leave their own grandchild?

"Isabel? Isabel?"

"Grandma?" I asks. I ran up to the door and saw both of them. "Grandmama! Grandpapa!" I rushed over them and engulf them with my hugs.

"What the heck is wrong with you stupid brat?!" grandpa yells.

"Oh my! Why is my sweet stupid grandchild crying?" grandmama worriedly asks.

"Huhuhuhuhu ulkggg huhuhuhu! I thought you left me!" I cried.

Grandpapa flicks his fingers on my forehead. "Ow!" I shielded my forehead with my hand.

"Such a stupid brat! Why would we leave you?"

"Aigoo! Stop crying, you're very ugly when you cry!" grandmama laughs. "Your grandpapa is right. Why would we leave you? Who would fetch my water? Who would run the chores around this house? Silly you!" grandmama pinched my cheek.

"Yeah that's right. I remember, you didn't have grand daughter but a slave!" I told them. I laugh halfheartedly, I didn't just cry because of the thought that they left me, I cried because I was being abused by these two elderly.

"You fool!" he laughs as he help me wipe my face.

"Where have you guys been?" I ask.

"We were just checking the horses if they are good to go," grandmama says.

"Go where?" I asks confused.

"So we could go to the village silly!"

I couldn't swallow the lump that is forming on my throat as I sat in the carriage. I couldn't concentrate. I didn't even realize that I was fidgeting my fingers. Grandmama hates it when I do that. Suddenly, I wanted to pee so bad my legs are quivering. Before I could stand up grandmama's hands held me back.

"That's enough, we have to go now."

"But grandmama, I wanna pee..." I said pleadingly.

Grandmama shot me a death glare. "You've been doing that for the 6th time!" I can see her angry red face and ear fuming bad. So I sat back down. Still pouting at her.

Grandmama and grandpapa laughs can be heard outside the carriage. I was sticking my head outside checking the view for the past hours. "Grandpapa! Look there is the flying witch again! Oh, oh! A baby werewolf! Oh my gosh! Is that a cow? We have cows at home as well! Hi cowsss!"

Grandpapa grabs my shoulder. "My! What an embarrassing kid we have. Stop shouting so loudly!" he complained.

"But grandpapa! Let me look outside. So many things I have seen for the first time!"

"Let my grand daughter peek outside Miller." grandmama said to grandpapa.

"She's my grand daughter as well!" Grandpapa shouted. "What the hell is my sweet lovingly granddaughter doing right now? Come on and look the view outside! Shout all you want!"

As we go further, the place is getting wider as well as the large amount of creature. I've seen tall buildings too. It was a beautiful place, lots of flowers and foods! My tummy grumbles as I sniff the delicious aroma. They sure improve a lot. The last time I've seen this was a really long time, so it was like seeing it again for the first time.

"Can we try those foods outside Gramps?" I ask Grandpapa.

Grandpa gave me a look. "Later,"

After hours of traveling, I've finally come to realize where we are heading. The place was too familiar to me, a small amount of dissapointment and regret form consciously.

"Y-you didn't tell me that we're visiting them," I said, gone all the excitement on my voice.

They look at each other, minutes passed by and both of them remained quite. Until I felt grandmama's touch on my hands.

"Are you still mad at them dear?" she ask worriedly. "D-don't you wanna see your sisters and brothers?" her voice quiver. At first I didn't understand why she's at the verge of tears.

I suddenly felt guilty. It was her as well, papa is their son. They must've miss them as well. I cannot be selfish. How foolish of me. And to think I was the first one to ask them to come here, I just didn't expect that we're going to visit them.

I gave them a faint smile. "I'm not mad grandmama," I told them. And it's true. I was not mad at them.

No matter how I've tried getting all my excitement up again, but I just couldn't help it anymore. I'm not a good liar. I wasn't happy at all.

"If you want, we can just visit next ti---"

I cut off grandmama, something that I've never done before. "It's ok grandma," I smiled to assure them that I was fine.

"D-do you wanna go back and eat--"

"I'm full grandpa,"

"Look! Another cow!" grandpapa cheered looking at me. I tried to look to where the cow was, not because I was interested, it was because my tear is starting to fall.

How hard it must be for them to not see their beloved son, their daughter-in-law, their grandchildren? It must've been painful. It was because of me why they have to stay far away. I was weak and has a little power.

I cleared my throat. "Whoa! So many cow!" I cheered but my tears as well as my heart was crying painfully. "Grandmama and grandpapa are the best!" I cheered again. I cried despite how cheerful my voice.

As a girl who is not wanted by her parents, who was bullied because of her weakness... past can easily triggered me so much. Even if it has been so long time ago. I cried because I still felt so unwanted by my own parents. It's been so long since I last saw them, never once did they tried to visit me. And right now, I felt a little dismay on Grandpapa and grandmama even when I know I shouldn't.

Grandmama and grandpapa became silent, I didn't mind it at all. They must've used their link mind something that mates do. I didn't mind. I didn't wanna talk to anyone.

I praise myself as there was no sign of crying in my face when I felt the movement of the horse became slower.

"We're here," grandpapa pulled the rope making the horse stop at their tracks.

Both of them got out while I just stared at them. I couldn't help getting hurt when I saw how excited they are to see them, for a second thought I felt betrayed. When the two of them saw me, their face quickly change into guilt.

I smiled at them again, although I'm pretty sure it didn't reach my eyes.

"Isabela..." grandpapa called worriedly. "I'm sure your mama and papa misses you so much."

"You'll finally be able to see your brothers and sisters. Aren't you excited to met them again?" grandmama asks.

Before I can say something both of their heads turned away as someone called them.

"Mama! Papa!" I heard my mother and father yelled.

"Patricia! Leonardo!" grandpapa and grandmama cried out loud as the four of them run up to meet each other.

I didn't know how to react.
