Chapter one

Rosa was shocked when she saw a notification message. She had just gotten off the phone with her mother, and she had told her about her engagement and everything. She was smiling with joy in her tone. She wore a big smile and crinkled eyes that all went away when the message popped in.

She read the messages out loud to reassure herself she was mistaken ‘’I am so sorry for the mistake we made, I don’t think we can work out sorry I rushed things. I guess we aren't for each other, bye. Don’t come looking for me because I really can't stand you anymore… and yeah, I blocked you from all my social media, and don’t try stalking me you bit*Ch!’’

She couldn’t stop the tears falling down her eyes. She tried calling him but it wasn’t possible. She guessed he blocked her, her head was spinning, the room seemed to be getting smaller and breathing was so hard for her.

She could not just let go without knowing why he dumped her. Then she remembered she had put a tracking device on both their rings some days ago. She lit up a little and hoped he hadn’t taken the ring off. Alas! He was still wearing it. She smiled at herself and thought how lucky and smart she was, but her friends and family always pointed out to her that she was possessive, clingy and a pushover.

She had tracked the ring down to a restaurant. She quickly got dressed. She wore her favorite red dress and some makeup. She was determined to win him back.

When she got to the location, she scanned the restaurant and found him sitting directly next to a lady. She didn’t care she was going to approach him and when he saw her in this dress he was going to be smitten, she thought to herself.

As she was about to head toward his direction, he stood up, went on his knees, and took out a ring case. Rosa's mind went blank. She just stood and watched; he was proposing to the lady ‘’Say yes! Say yes! The crowd cheered, and the lady stood up and accepted his proposal.

Rosa was still standing. She couldn’t seem to move her feet. She was frozen by the scene before her, and she then noticed the woman was pregnant. She thought to herself ‘’She has seen this lady before". Then it came to her… THE LADY!! Oh, her head fumes.

How could he do this to her! He had told her she was just a friend; she couldn’t muster up her courage to confront him, so she ran home. How could she be a fool to have trusted him the second time?

She couldn’t tell anyone about this. She would be laughed at by her friends, and her family all warned her, but she didn’t listen, she just wanted the ground to open up and swallow him.

When she got home, her phone rang, she checked the screen and saw it was her mom. She didn’t want to pick up, but she couldn’t get her mom's call. Her great resilience, she picked up. She didn’t want her to find out from someone else, so she told her the engagement was called off, and she needed space. Her mom seemed to understand and hung up.

She figured she needed to go somewhere, maybe outer space, where nobody knew how to cool off. She wanted to travel a lot, but she couldn’t because her fiancé didn’t want her to. Now she was going to do what she always wanted.

She had wanted to go to Venice last summer, but something came up, but now she so wanted to go, she was sure now was the right time. She booked her flight and packed up some few things she might need. She didn’t even have a plan or have an idea about when she was going to come back, so she left some messages about her where-about some important people, including her mom and, hell yes, she was on her way to Venice.

When she got to Venice, she was a little bit cranky. It wasn’t what she expected. It was filled with people and romance. She hated it, but she told herself not to be discouraged, since it was the first day after unpacking and taking a nap, she decided to go clubbing. It was a Friday, and she wouldn’t let the weekend go to waste.

She decided to wear a very sexy, short dress and decided to have a makeover on her face. She was so happy she could unwind after so many years. She checked herself once more to make sure she looked inviting and elegant. Looking at her reflection, she looked nothing like her pathetic life. She looked good. After making sure she was ready, she left the hotel room.

She halted a cab, and she asked him to take her to the most popular and fun clubhouse in Venice. After a rough drive for fifteen to twenty minutes, the cab came to a stop at Galo's Club and bar.

It wasn’t like the normal club. She knew she hadn’t been to a clubhouse for quite a long time, but it was buzzy and fun. She went to the bar counter to order a cocktail and then some tequila shots. She wanted to get drunk, and the cocktails weren’t helping.

She noticed a lot of eyes staring at her. She felt alive and beautiful. One particular dude she had her eyes on was sitting across the bar, but he had his woman with him. Rosa felt bad but after a while a handsome dude came toward her, and oh my! He had some muscles.

He approached her. The music was loud, so she didn’t quite hear his name, but he was hot. Rosa thought to herself about how her night was going to be crazy and nice with him. They talked for a bit. He told her she was the most beautiful person in the club and how much he was going to make her body feel right and the crazy stuff he was going to do with her.

She smiled.

He ordered another shot of tequila and both of them hit the dance floor after dancing for a short while. Her partner started behaving weirdly like he was avoiding being caught, and he was watching somebody at the same time as she wasn’t having her best night yet.

That all went away when her partner got a call and told her he would be back. She didn’t care, she just wanted to dance. It looked like the alcohol started kicking in.

Everyone was staring at her as she danced so seductively and confidently. After dancing for some while, she noticed a tall and handsome figure staring down at her. She wanted this man and ought to have him, she told herself.

After dancing for some while, he didn’t seem to be coming for her. She took it upon herself to meet him. She left the dance floor and went to the VIP lounge, but he didn’t see him.
