Only forty eight hours

Lucian's POV

I couldn't believe that I had slept for so long, and I woke up to an empty bed.

It was already the next day, so I used the back of my palm to check my temperature. What had come over me, to the extent I slept till the following day?

Empty bed? F*ck! The bed was empty. Where has Havanna gone, and how could she leave without telling me?.

I threw my head backward in shame and regret, I had just f*cked her again without her consent. I am sure she is already at the police station, filing a report against me.

I stood up from the bed and quickly had my bath, it didn't take me quite long to get ready for work. I needed a distraction, so I wouldn't think too hard of the mess I had gotten myself into.

I must say that I wasn't too surprised to see a lot of media personnel at my house, so early in the morning.

They were just outside my gate, waiting for the gate to open. I took a deep breath, wondering how I was going to get past so many people.

Even with my heavy security, I am sure that it was close to impossible, except that I would have to hurt someone in the process.

"Can we go now, sir?" My driver had asked me, and simply nodded my head.

With four black cars driving behind the one I was in, serving as my convoys, it wasn't easy to drive past my gate, as the media had blocked my gate.

They were standing and blocking the area, in such a way that it was impossible to move without someone getting hurt.

"Is this the kind of president you planned to be? You didn't tell us this in your manifesto" I heard one of them say to me, with the camera pointing at my face.

"What do you have to say about this?" Another almost forced the microphone inside my car.

That was when I remembered to whine down my glass.

"Drive!" I instructed my driver.

"But sir, we are going to hit these people if I do" he was fidgeting.

I am sure the poor man was scared, he didn't want to be tagged as an m*rderer.

"Just do it" I instructed again.

This time, he didn't put up a fight as he drove ahead with my convoys just behind us.

Luckily, no one was hurt as they all cleared out of the way so my car could pass.

I headed to my company because that's where I knew they couldn't just enter anyhow they pleased. The security at my office was tighter than the one at my house.

I had just been elected and was yet to move into the white house, so no presidential seat.

Why was all this happening to me now? Why couldn't I just control my urge? And why couldn't this happen after I have been sworn in, at least then I would have the immunity protecting me.

My devastation and lamentation were yet to begin, as I got so many daggering looks from my employees. I had no time to pay attention to that, as I hurriedly walked into my office. I shut the door and instructed that I didn't want to see anyone no matter who it was.

I sat on my chair and switched on the television.

"There you have it. President-elect Lucian almost runs down media personnels ...." I saw a live podcast, discussing about me.

I didn't even wait for the lady to finish her sentence, as I just switched off the television immediately.

I stood up from my chair and kicked the damn thing to the ground.

I clenched my fist and roughly ran my hands through my hair as if I wanted to pull my hair out.

This mess was honestly going to drive me mad. I am sure that I am going to lose my senses if I do not think of a solution before it is too late for me.

My mind was racing to different areas, and I was yet to think of a solution.

I spent the whole day at the office, trying to force myself to work, but that was in vain.

"You are going to lose your seat as president" That was the only sentence playing in my mind over and over again. It was driving me crazy, I couldn't think straight, as I refused to talk to anyone.

I had five meetings that day and instructed my secretary to cancel all of them.

I got home late that evening, and quickly went to the bar, I grabbed myself a bottle of alcohol.

"Drink it, maybe it would turn back the hands of time" My Nana walked up to me with disappointment stamped all over her face, as she snatched it away from me just before I could even open it.

"I haven't even had a sip yet. Please Nana" I pleaded with her, but she gave me a Stern look, and I knew better than to persuade her. I did not want to receive another one of her life-threatening slaps.

I was already involved in a big mess, I didn't need a swollen cheek to add to my problems.

"You want to drink? Are you serious Lucian? You are meant to be thinking about a solution. Not about how you are going to drown yourself in alcohol. Let me remind you that, even if you take 200 bottles of wine.

You will still wake up to the disgusting news about you everyday.

Nana is normally supportive, she would always be the first person I run to whenever I got myself into any sort of trouble. But this time, I couldn't even run to her, I was too weak and there was nothing she could do.

I saw the pain in her eyes when she handed me the envelope and the faint smile on her face too.

I took a deep breath and opened the envelope. My eyes widened when I saw a court notice. It said I had only 48 hours to report to court, as a case of r*pe had been filed against me.

I was expecting it, but not too soon. R*pe is a state offense and the victim didn't need to file a case against the offender. Not only am I going to lose my seat as president, but I am also going to jail.

"Not if you find that girl. She is the only one that can save you now" I heard Nana's voice again. I turned around to realize that I had been talking out loud. She had also been standing there observing me for the past 5 minutes.
