Chapter 1 Pushing Him Down the Stairs

The sky was shrouded in a layer of black, devoid of any light, pressing down heavily without a single breath of air.

In September Riverdale, after a stifling half month, the first storm arrived.

A young girl knelt in a sorry state on the ground, drenched by the rain, on the verge of collapse. A man stood in front of her, watching through the thick curtain of rain, with a look of desolation and disappointment in his eyes.

"Delilah Shaw, what can't you do when you can push someone down the stairs? You don't like him, but you can't treat him like this! Kneel here and reflect on your actions!"

"Dad, sister is still young, please calm down, I will go explain to the Ashworth family..."

It was the voices of her father and brother...

Delilah struggled to open her heavy eyelids, through the thick fog of rain, she could vaguely see two blurry figures.

Indeed, after a person dies, they will produce hallucinations.

Her father and brother had passed away three years ago, and this was the first time Delilah had seen them in her dreams.

She knew they hated her, hated her for ruining the Shaw family, so they wouldn't even appear in her dreams.

And Nolan Ashworth, the man who loved her to the core...

The rain was heavy, like stones falling incessantly, and Delilah so desperately wanted to say a word to her father and brother, but she had no strength left, not a bit of strength at all.

Her body weakened and collapsed, the world turning back into darkness.

...

When Delilah woke up,

What met her eyes was a dazzling fluorescent light, her mind momentarily blank.

Wasn't she locked in a warehouse and burned to death by Emilia Shaw and Pierce Sinclair?

Where was this now?

Delilah struggled to turn her eyes, looking around.

Everything seemed familiar, which scared her enough to sit up from the bed.

She got up too quickly, her vision blurred for a moment, almost fainting.

Wasn't this her old room?

But didn't Shaw Manor get sealed off a year ago?!

The pain in her body reminded her that this was no dream, Delilah's blood froze, and a bizarre thought arose in her mind.

Could it be... she was reborn?

Where was her father? Her brother? And Nolan?

Delilah was frantic, many questions lingered in her mind, and she flung open the covers, got out of bed, and went out the door.

Just as she reached the stairs, a stern voice sounded.

"Where do you think you're going? Still causing trouble? Haven't knelt enough?"

Delilah's heart skipped a beat, hearing this familiar voice, waves of shock rolling in her heart, she turned around suddenly.

A man about forty years old, with a steady stride, was walking towards her with an indelible anger on his face.

Delilah's eyes instantly turned red.

Tears fell incessantly.

"Dad..."

Owen was initially impatient, but softened slightly when he saw her crying, but thinking about how malicious she was to push someone down the stairs, he hardened his tone again. "You have the face to cry? Go back to your room!"

Delilah only saw his mouth moving, completely ignoring what he said.

Her tears rolled more fiercely, her loved ones had been gone for three years, and now standing alive in front of her, how could she not be agitated.

Owen was also flustered, thinking he had punished her too severely?

But when he thought of what Delilah had done, he got angry again. "Delilah, I know you don't like Nolan, but this time, you went too far. How could you push someone down the stairs."

Push Nolan down the stairs?

A shiver ran through Delilah.

She remembered.

At first, Nolan was pestering her relentlessly, she was annoyed by him, and she followed Emilia's advice, pretending to jump off the building, and when Nolan came to save her, she turned around and pushed him down the stairs.

She had actually been reborn at that moment.

"Now, Nolan is about to leave, you won't have another chance to meet him."

Leave?

Nolan was leaving?

Yes, Nolan had been hurt too deeply by her, full of despair, he had left Riverdale.

The next time they met would be when her father and brother passed away, and he came to find her, saying he was willing to take care of her.

She was fixated on Pierce, naturally unwilling, humiliating him harshly, he left sadly, the last time they met was when she was engulfed in flames.

No! He can't leave! Delilah blurted out, "I want to go after him!"

She had just been reborn, had a chance to start over with him, she couldn't let Nolan leave.

"Why are you chasing after someone you don't like?" Owen's anger flared up again. "You are not allowed to cause any more trouble!"

"Who said I don't like him?"

Delilah subconsciously replied.

Does love make you push someone down the stairs?

Owen determined that she was causing trouble, and now that she was going to the Ashworth family, she must have come up with a new way to torment people.

"Go back to your room and stay there, you can't go anywhere without me!" Owen coughed violently in anger, his face red with frustration.

Afraid of really upsetting him, Delilah dared not speak, quickly went back to her room, but as soon as he left, she sneaked off to the Ashworth family.
